  1. Ran when parked? Musta sat next to the ocean for the last 45 yrs?
  2. So that new Freightshaker is like driving a B model? LOL!!! Ya get there....but just not in a real big hurry. Though my buddy was busting my chops the other week. Coming home from the last race I had a car giving me fits(was not going to let me finish passing) and I had to "wind'r out" a bit. I reached over and put the third stick in double boogie OD, gave her a Hail Mary and held on. Apparently I was doing north of 80 mph before I lifted and moved over in front of the car(per my buddy who was following me). Helps when it is level ground. Even a .00001% grade knocks the wind out of it. Breaking even? Sounds like a better deal then most truck drivers I hear talk.............
  3. Congrats on the new purchase. Pretty neat story and history behind it. Oh...............you better get some tall boots on as the chit storm that is coming your way......................
  4. I keep green in mine. I've put new in mine a couple times over the years. Just drained radiator and topped it back off. I've only drained the block down once when I replaced the block heater unit. It sits inside so not concerned with actual strength(and freeze rating). There are drains in the block on each side if you want to drain it to get all the old crap out. If you don't have any history, I'd drain it and then run water through to get all the rust/crap out of the block. I bet the drains will likely get stopped up at first.
  5. Ya, I'm getting there. Need to put new seals around the doors. Never really an issue overall, but last couple years I've had to drive it in much cooler weather then usual(in a snow storm last spring), thus you notice the cool air blowing on your arm. The problem with the heater in these trucks is there is no "moderate" setting. All or nothing kinda thing. Low is too low, high is too high. Need to remove the lo/hi switch and put a rotary 3 spd in it with resistor pack from a '70's pickup.
  6. I thought you were talking aboit Dave? Doing a full cab reconstruction. Haven't seen an update in some time on AtHS.
  7. Mine will roast you out if slow moving. Get it on the highway and it gets cold quick from all the leaks.
  8. What is reason you want a quad? Just curious.
  9. I have muffler under cab. Some days I'd like to make it bark. Most I like to be able to hear myself think! Guess I'm getting old?
  10. I'll guess there weren't many "BIG" trees around when they parked it. 20+ yrs makes little trees turn into BIG trees. Looks like it still has split rims on it? No one has run those in many, many years.
  11. Truck looks pretty decent overall, beside the roof damage. How deep in the woods do you have to go to get it?
  12. Swear that is a Chebby bed? Ugh. They extended the cab? Lots of work into it, I give them that(and black to boot). A30? It has a B model front end on it.
  13. Kinda like it,even though it is a Pete. I put a low air flag in my truck just because I remember them growing up and always though they were cool. By the shift pattern plate I'm guessing it is a 4x4, likely Spicer married box?
  14. So the trailer loading height was lower due to the shorter wheels? Giving more cubic feet of box since it was taller. Interesting.
  15. Isn't the same part for even later model stuff? 237/285/300? Should be available at local Mack dealer then? I just did the hammer trick to make a gasket for my compressor mount. Didn't want to go through the hassle of buying one at Mack, got some paper and made it. I've got a box full of random gaskets for a 673. Can't guarantee there are ones in it? I can look around if you like. Not really sure what they look like or the sizes(as my 673 is all together). Can you post up nice full size pictures?
  16. Looks pretty nice for the money.
  17. One really, really slow 1/4 miles at a time. LOL!!! It only went 26.xx at 49 mph.............................LMAO!!!! Ya, real barn stormer............ Took my one friends wife for a ride down the track and she hopped in and was looking for the seat belt. I told here she went faster getting here in their motorhome then I will be going down the track.
  18. Huh? What? Um, it was only driven to church on sunday and never rac..................... Um, it was never raced........ Right. Nope. Not while I owned it. You'll never find any proof of that anywhere..............
  19. Ya, my work computer has Yahoo mail. All the ads on the sides are from Ebay or searches I've done(like cars.com). Ugh. They do put a little box on the ad that allows you to change the ad to something you might want. I've tried it. Still the same old shit shows up LOL! Oh, but they are trying to help us. Ya, right. Still haven't brought up any ads for Winfall Wimmin? What's up with that?
  20. Hey, if you need a motor, I got a sweet running 673 that will plop right down in there. Real penny pincher on fuel too. Doesn't really even use any oil and that ain't bad for a 60 year old motor.
  21. "Missed it by THAT much"..............
  22. I saw that fleet getting set up for the photograph at York. Very neat selection of trucks.
  23. Yup, just click on the box and pick FOR SALE or BUY.
  24. After doing some reading in my motor book I found they dont use valve stem seals. Interesting. Second it appears by the number I posted above I have the early small drive. The book notes that on rebuild to upgrade to wider drive coupler 461GC232. Kit #215SB107.
