  1. Ugh...that hurt. You would think that more dumptrucks would come with idiot lights for when the bed is raised? No different then a low air buzzer/light.
  2. I am working with farmer52 on some parts as they are just a bit closer to home. I will keep in touch in the next few weeks as to if they work out. I'll still need a flywheel likely. Transportation is the issue either way.
  3. It will take a 4.10 gear and a single overdrive transmission. My B will do it pulling my trailer(14K lbs) on relatively level ground. Any kind of grade and it will loose steam. Around 65 mph at 1800 rpm. The truck alone will run speed without too much effort. I have a 4spd aux and it gives me 85 mph at 2100 rpm. Only on level ground though without trailer...........um, well, as far as I figure. I've NEVER had the truck that fast...................(well about 80 once).
  4. Not sure how worn my clutch is until I get it apart. Is yours an organic disc? Not sure what they put in these? I wonder if the pressure plate is better(more pressure) then my 673? Could I run my 673 clutch if I made sure it was up to par? It works fine now.
  5. Does it have twin spin on filters? I need the cooler that attaches to that style housing. I need water manifold/water pump housing, intake manifold and turbo/intake hose. They stripped that stuff off sometime back:
  6. What other parts on it? Oil cooler?
  7. I use a long bar and just give it some "UMPH" and make room(the radiator will move enough without loosening the mount). Pretty bad when a 1/2" wide belt won't fit through. I'm the same way...if it breaks on the road I might be in trouble if I don't have something to use as a prybar LOL!
  8. Don't sweat it. I've been learning on mine for 14 yrs now.
  9. You should be able to replace the belts with the fan on. Just have to loop it over one blade and then follow it around til comes around again. Sometimes you have to wiggle the radiator forward to get the belt past the crank bolt(I do anyway). It is a tight fit. You can take the fan off, the bolts JUST make it as they are very short in length. I went through this last winter when I put a/c on my truck and had this stuff apart trying to figure it all out.
  10. Like to have a flywheel for the new motor so I can start it before tearing into the truck motor. Even if I "borrowed" one just to start it? Thoughts? Anyone close to NE Ohio?
  11. Just friended him on Facebook. Guess he is alive and breathing still?
  12. I was there in about 1990? Got a few pics somewhere(long before digital). Very cool place.
  13. Looks like a single cylinder diesel. One injection line, one cylinder. Two injection lines= two cylinders, etc. I had a Yanmar genset that was electric start with pull start as back up.
  14. Ah, okay, I understand. I know they are HEAVY!!!! Just thought I'd offer some assistance if you wanted it.
  15. Get it out and bring it over. They aren't that hard to get running. Dual voltage is nice. I pulled the carb off mine just to take the top off and see if it was cruddy inside(it wasn't). Nothing to them, kinda like an autolite carb from a Ford. I got a Facet pump for mine but any little cheapie 4-5 psi pump will work. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/eppages/facetpumps.php BTW, none running will not bring much money. At least the guys that know how to make them run won't pay any kind of money for it.
  16. Man...that thing was pullin' hard. You can hear it grunt. Nice.
  17. Nope, never. No Chebbys around me. I'm guessing that "7's in the 1/8" means 7.9's, which is like mid 12's in the 1/4 mile.
  18. I have a book with one. Seems it was Budweiser? Long frame single axle pulling a trailer.
  19. There has been a nice restored single axle B81 in WOT for some time now. Green/white if I recall?
  20. Ya, I'm going to replace my supply line, as it too is rotten braided lines. Paul, ya I know it isn't too much to really understand. It tells when to shoot the fuel. Lift and duration. But sure is a bunch of BS to control that.
  21. My injector lines are all steel and would like to keep them steel(not braided). Mine are useable, but would like to have new. I googled and found a few places in Ohio that does pump work. Not sure I want to just ship it off somewhere for someone to do whatever to it? I race with a fellow that does big truck work. Going to see if he has someone up around his place(north royalton). While talking to R/R, they said the last Mack pump they did it was cheaper to get a reman from Bosch. Then he told me about $2000 and I about fell out of my chair. I'd like to learn a bit about these pumps. Still is black magic to me.
  22. Well I called R&R machine. They basically do "stock" rebuilds and can not alter a pump to other settings(I would have to supply the pump number for them to set it-they don't have any listing to just go by). They scared the bajeebers out of me with a "rough" estimate! $2000!!!! Say what? Perry Diesel closed(number no good) so that is out. Going to see if I can find someone else somewhat local. If not, I guess it will stay a Maxidyne for now.
  23. I've done the 6 hr layover at O'hare before. Not by choice, but couldn't get a connection sooner. I knew every bathroom and hallway in that place! Yes, you do have to pay attention to flight schedules when you book. I've seen some crazy long layovers options if you pick the wrong one. I've done one day there/back jobs that some flights had a hard time getting me TO the destination in the same day. Recheck your airlines. Sometimes you'll get an open seat, even if you try again on Thursday. I've gotten lucky sometimes with someone cancelling and getting an earlier flight.
  24. Here ya go. Doesn't look like your from Aussie anymore...............LOL. Dang, F model treed me.
