  1. I've been lurking around trying to find an f150 version. Only problem is they want $10k for a 1/2 ton gasser.
  2. I started wearing them shortly after that. I lived in my Nike Cortez(white with the red swish on them) back then. Boots are the only thing you can still get in the same basic style. You can't buy that style Nike anymore. At least from where I've looked. I just get plain black ones now anyway to keep from looking dirty.
  3. Very cool stories Randy. I miss the fact I don't have lots of pics from the things I did growing up, say mid teens til now. Lots of race car pics, but those are taken by someone else anyhow. I had a love for trucks growing up and always wanted to drive for a living. After watching shows like Movin On and BJ I thought it was the coolest job ever. Little did I know then LOL! I was told by my parents that I will get a REAL job. I'll hijack a little and show the only shot of me and a big truck. 1976 (red arrow points to me, I was 10) Mr Schott brought his truck to church one Sunday and was giving kids rides(he was retiring). I got more then one ride! I remember those twin pearl handles, the low air wig wag. I was in HEAVEN that day. Knowing how tiny those cabs really are, I realize how small I was back then. I'm barely as tall as the fender. I still love that style truck.
  4. 28 yrs ago: (closest I could find) Few months ago:
  5. They also list Kaitlyn Jenner. Wtf.
  6. Both good looking trucks. Nice work on the 700!
  7. My guess air shift 6spd? The little lever likely a brownie box. Look under the truck for another transmission? If it didn't get used a lot, the linkage might just be gummed up.
  8. Ya priced right but I don't have the wheelbase for it.
  9. Just a small hiccup. I can handle it.
  10. No wonder this motor was being passed around and never used. I guess I will drill the flywheel and use it.
  11. OK just got my flywheel and was going to run the bolts in my crank to clean out the threads. Ummmm, the bolts are too small. Why is my crank 3/4-16 thread and this flywheel take 5/8?? Can I just open the holes or is there something unique about it?
  12. If you look around that is what they are asking for most of this newer stuff. Crazy. I will keep looking as my buddy and I try to put a plan together to fix mine. BTW...glad to see you posting Mike. Did they kick you out or did you just tell them goodbye!
  13. Wow. Thanks. Could live without the heat/ac unit. Likely why so expensive. I need to widen my craigslist searches. You still thinking of coming down this weekend?
  14. Ah, Joe "P"? Ok, now I know who he is. I saw his request but wasn't sure....especially him knowing Yardo? Seemed awfully suspicious.
  15. I think it might just be the gold paint that makes it look brass. At least mine is painted gold(P Motor). Yes, passenger side. I think some did have a primary filter on the drivers side too? This is after I moved it to make from for a/c compressor.
  16. I can pull my apart this weekend if you don't get any other help. It's been too long to remember how it looks and couldn't find any pics in my motor manuals. From what I recall, the spring goes on the shaft first then the round ring that seats on the filter? It is suppose to be staked on permanently. I had to pop mine apart years ago to get a new gasket on the top side of the lid.
  17. Ya, I remember it a few years back. I didn't do anything back then either. The card is very vague and doesn't say anything about buying a book(like the last time). I haven't replied either. My rusty old junk is not worthy of a fancy book and surely not going to pay to look at it either. I can walk out to the garage and do it for free. The photog for our racing group takes a good photo anyway....as seen below.
  18. I'm tearing into(bad pun) my bunk on my truck to try to fix it up(after the little mishap going to York). Not sure if it is worth fab'n up pieces to try to make it right again? I have a local guy with an A model 36" bunk but it is kinda rough. Cheap, but rough and not sure I want to have to fix it up either? Anyone have leads on a decent, straight(on the outside) 36" bunk? 42" max. Of course somewhere NEAR Ohio would be a plus.
  19. I know a fellow but he is way on the upper East coast. It is a bigger machine though. They just dug it out(was their dads) and was contemplating what to do with it. I told him I'd love to have it(like I need it or have a place for it), but how the hell would I get it to Ohio?
  20. Prayers sent Mike. Get well soon.
  21. Saving money on sealcoating?? Smart.
  22. Our local freight drivers tell me about their cab cameras. They aren't suppose to smoke in the truck. The one driver is a old timer and just flicks the camera the finger and lights up. Never been bothered or written up. They are a good thing anymore, but I don't think they need to be pointed at the driver(yet). Makes you wonder how much they WEREN'T paying attention to drive into the front of a semi just out their side window?
  23. Welcome to the forums.
  24. Yes. I redid the front of the bunk to match what I did to the cab. I say cut it up and make it work. Unless you are trying desperately to "keep it original as possible". The day I put the hole saw to the back of my cab.....whoooeeeee...........ain't no going back now.
  25. Biggest expense besides the truck was putting 6 new Yoko radials on mine when I bought the truck. $1800. I never thought 14 yr later I'd still have it and only because of the date codes I put two new Yoko's on the front this past spring. Tons of tread, but just didn't feel safe. Only have maybe 50K miles on them. Has near doubled in cost. $800~ for two mounted.
