  1. Ah shoot.............I thought it said........".Girls with Shovels".............. I do have some other shovel pics... our club meeting at Lakeside Sand and Gravel is always a good one. Larry Kotkowski has lots of neat stuff. I even drove that Euclid dump. Scream'n Jimmy power.
  2. Welcome aboard. Plenty of help here.
  3. Very cool combo. Real throwback to the seventies! Someone needs to find one and restore it like Benji/Moose from Movin On. No good pics on Google. Blue cab with red/white/blue trailer.
  4. Glad to hear you are okay. Scares the bejeebers out of me changing a tire ON the roadside. Just the other day I watched a car change a tire and I wondered why they didn't drive a little farther(like 1/8 mile) to get past the guard rail and give themselve more room to pull off the road to change a left side tire. I swear I'll drive til the rim is gone before I change one like that. Just put 6 new tires on my trailer about 3 yrs ago(I change them out every 5-6 yrs regardless). Just last Sunday I took my rig over to a local show(my trailer is part of it) and found a belt separated on one tire. Ugh. I dropped the pressure in it to hope it won't blow going home(about 5 miles). Time to call my buddy for another one, as I have a trip to Pittsburgh in a couple weeks. I stopped putting Goodyears on it, as they don't seem to last any longer then the Chinese version(at half the price). I found they don't last more then 6 yrs without coming apart(even the goodyears). I'd rather spend a few bucks and just put new on it on a regard basis and save myself the headache.
  5. I need to get over to that half of PA sometime.
  6. I used to pick up Kit Car magazine growing up. Used to drool over the Manta kit(V8 powered). I remember most of the Bug kits also. I'm thinking if I dig into the right box, I might find one of those magazines upstairs.
  7. I can look in a few minutes when I get home. I replaced mine a few years back. Got it from Mack.
  8. http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/hvo/5191145383.html $1800
  9. Hmmm, doesn't come with a cozy coupe tow truck?
  10. I wanna throw all the crap I have laying around on the bench, under the bench, on the floor, etc. BUT.....it always comes in handy, just like at this kinda moment. When all the stores are closed and you need to get something together. Ugh. And yes, part store "counter people" are not like they used to be. Few good ones left(that I know personally).
  11. Ya, pretty straight and clean. Let the fun begin.
  12. I think they fall under "Engergizer bunny". They just keep going and going and going and ..........................
  13. I used stripper on mine years back. Then just some sand paper to smooth out the ridges in the aluminum, then a polishing wheel with some Wenol and they turned out pretty nice. After near 10 yrs, they still look pretty good. Haven't touched them since other then soap/water. Right after I did them: Couple years ago:
  14. Who me?? LOL!
  15. Got to wondering....is that an air start tank on the driver side??
  16. I put strings all around my drivers side, after the fact. Mine started leaking after I put new glass/rubber in. I pulled the lock strip out a couple winters ago, put caulk strips around outside and put lock strip back in. Seems dry. Mine does have some rusty issues and the edge is not smooth/flat anymore. Better to put it all around and not need it then find out it leaks.
  17. 673 Diesel 5x2 trans, in dry storage 21yrs, everything works, call for info, $8000 (845) 361-5436
  18. I reused the existing mount, just used a piece of all thread to mount it with some spacers set it. I then re engineered the slide bracket to reach the alternator. Been 14 yrs now. Can't recall the brand of alternator? Have to go look at it. I got it at the local starter/alt rebuild house.
  19. Ken, I might have time Sunday. I'm tearing into my trailer damage tomorrow and Saturday. Helping buddy put transmission back in race car Sat morning. Going to Randolph truck pulls Sat evening. Ugh........where does the time go??
  20. Thanks for the update. I wondered what that was about. Hope things get better quickly.

  22. When an F150 cost you $40K(platinum is $51K)........there needs to be another option. I know the mini scene was big 20 yrs ago. Now, not so much. Everyone wants a monster truck to take their kids to school. Crazy. I have no interest(or money) for a new truck. I'll drive my '89 F150 as long as the wheels still turn. I was thoroughly surprised the other day, at the gas station, a new F150 rolled in. It looked odd in a way. It had "normal" sized wheesl(maybe 16"?) and you could actually reach OVER the bedside and get to what was inside the bed. It was a "Sport"(decal on the side), shortbed, std cab. Likely a V6 too? Just a nice, clean, usable truck. I actually LIKED it, and could see myself driving it. Not likely to happen, but if it would be a long bed, V8 with a 5spd I would start looking. I've currently collected pieces to convert mine from automatic to 5spd. I've hated that AOD since I bought the truck, but beggars can't be choosers. Hopefully in the next month I'll have a handle to row again. Don't know why they got away from building trucks that were accessible? Usable? Why the 22" wheels and the 5ft tall bedsides? WTF?
  23. I'm still working on getting a tank to install my air start. Found one, but local parts place bumped the price from $25 to $350 before I could call. Still want $250 for it now if I recall. No brackets. Someday.
  24. Why only jail on weekends? That isn't what any other "sexual predator" would get? Friend I race with, his son in law had sex with his own daughters best friend(she was 15? at the time). He got 4-5 years hard time. Same thing, they texted and got caught. The difference from 30+ yrs ago, only a few select buddies every heard about stories like this. It didn't get plastered all over every ones phone.
  25. Nice truck. Why are you removing the air start? Too much hassle for you? I'm one of the dumb guys that is working to put it ON my truck. I ain't too smart sometimes............... well a lot of times. I'd look for a double over triplex or quad. That will give you the long legs you desire. Finding a 4.00 double reduction gearset is hens teeth. Mine came with 4.62 and that is pretty fast compared to most of the B models I know of. Just bobtailing, you can run it 65-70 and it won't break a sweat.
