  1. Handy dandy tool there...........
  2. You can't fix stupid..........
  3. Ive used those plug in circuit breakers too.
  4. How much freeplay in the pedal? Does the clutch engage at the top of the travel?
  5. I'm thinking that most any automotive bolt is usually torqued with motor oil. At least the numbers they state are usually "with oil". A dry bolt will take MUCH more torque to get to the stretch required to stay tight. I know on Chevys, they use some sealant on certain head bolts due to water passages. I suppose the sealant is then the lubrication. If you use ARP type fasteners, they have their own lube and the torque is usually lower(due to better lubricity). I'm thinking about 10-20 lb/ft lower then "with oil".
  6. I have a Painless switch panel in my race car. Nice piece, been there near 20 yrs. I am in the process of putting an "EZ Wiring" kit in a 41 Willys. I think they are all pretty comparable overall. http://ezwiring.com/ The one thing I did on the Willys, I put the headlights on relays. Takes all the load off the dash switch(generic GM switch). With the halogen bulbs today, these old headlights switches don't like the amp draw. The rest of it is pretty generic and can't see any kind of problem using it. I put my B model headlights on relays a few years ago. I couldn't run my bright lights for more then a few minutes before it would start flashing on/off. Now they work great. As for the Fuse/ Breaker comparison. Just keep some fuses in the glovebox. I'm sure they put breakers just to make them resettable and not have to worry about replacing fuses. If you do it right, I don't see a problem with fuses.
  7. Welcome aboard.
  8. Ya, makes you wonder WHO will pay for the clean up? Or all the manpower it will take to monitor the water, etc? Surely not the EPA?? On no, you and I will.
  9. Mine are at a slight angle, not perfectly vertical. I've had mine off the chassis, they do move. There is a small oil cap on the top, I put some light oil in them and worked them back and forth. This was some time back, haven't looked into them since. I don't really think they move all that much anyhow. Maybe if I put real shocks on it and could compare, but likely never see much difference. I noticed a better ride after I rebuilt the springs and had new bushings installed. Seems to have a bit more "give" to the ride. Not that a '59 Mack has any kind of ride quality. I did ask about a tapered leaf arrangement for it. Not available. I suppose if I designed it myself and had them built it?
  10. .............and all the reasons why I DON'T have DISH anymore. They don't have that kinda crap on antenna TV!!! I'm watching Emergency and the Six Million Dollar man!!!!
  11. Yup, they complain about "racial profiling", being treated badly by cops and all that..........but then they do this crap just to show that there is a need for "Profiling". Duh, stop acting like idiots and you won't be "profiled" and treated as such. Seems simple to most people.
  12. I miss hearing the old "Bink-Boing, Bink-Boing sound............. My buddies ol 68 Dodge D100 was classic for that. Though with LED lights, that really screws them up. You have to have electronic flashers now.
  13. "What is it?" Rough around the edges
  14. Same people with that burgundy B model?
  15. I was just watching something on PBS last night about this. I can't remember the girls name? Something-nerd. Radiation nerd? Something like that. This young scientist was going around with this girl checking things out. They went into one building and the meters basically went into overload. The readings were like 10000 times normal. I forget what the term they used. I was tired and didn't catch everything.
  16. I have a pair of Yoko fronts off my truck, dated 2001. I figure I got my life out of them, though they are have plenty of tread. Need to find someone with a trailer or such that could use them. When I bought them new in 2002, I didn't really think I would still have them today. Or at least wear them out?
  17. The rubber diaphram that the air pushes to actuate the brakes. Here is a picture to show you the parts. I would guess that the truck has relay valves for the rear. Maybe an issue there? There has to be something that is dumping large volumes of air. How many air tanks on the truck?
  18. Pretty ugly looking scenery. Can't see how you can STAND looking at it day in/day out.........................LOL!!
  19. Stay on solid ground. Get in wet grass and likely have problems moving. Buddy has some steers for drives on his single axle KW(got them cheap). Doesn't go well off pavement.
  20. What was the torque rating of tri/quad? What was the rating of the 335? I suppose it was rated at 1500-2100 rpm? Did Mack only add the double/triple countershaft boxes after they made the maxidyne motors? Lugging them down to 1100 rpm.
  21. I'll give ya a hand. I suppose they are 237/5 spd trucks? Here they are:
  22. Happy Bir........................ugh.................um...........................wait..............I'm gunno be sick...........................................
  23. Always wanted an old sign like that. Nice job. I've seen pics of that ol Ford wrecker somewhere before?
  24. Drove the owners late model Acura SUV to Indiana last week, It has that accident avoidance crap. The cruise constantly kicks off if you get without 200+ ft of another vehicle on the highway. Ugh, makes it hard to pass someone when the car slows itself down. Ugh. Then there is the automated braking crap. Ya, collision avoidance crap again. If you don't get on the brakes soon enough FOR IT, then it applies them for you. Ugh. Really. I can drive myself!!!! At lunch, I tend to go to Lake Anna(center of town) and eat lunch and watch the people, ducks and whatever. There is parking along 2 sides of the lake(big pond). The funny thing to see is how many people CAN NOT parallel park. At all!!! Period. If they can't pull in and stop, then can't get in a spot. So many try to pull their nose in first then try to jack the back end into the spot. Not happening(duh). They usually leave and find a spot then can pull into(2-3 open spaces). Kinda like going to a boat ramp for entertainment purposes. Of course, in Barberton, the financial area does not support many new cars, usually 10-15 yr old clunkers. Have not seen one that had park assist. My g/f will atest that she is horrible at parking any direction. She freaks when I whip into a spot, especially backwards. Can parallel park my pickup in the dark in a spot barely long enough for the truck and not hit anything. She just shakes her head. Her new Jeep is very noticeable, the right side tires are all chewed up from "finding" the curb when she parks.
  25. I was curious about oil filter adapter plate or lines. Is the bottom end knocking?
