  1. Kinda figured that. Brass and wood stuff. The comment was just kinda throw out that if "anyone" wanted to park inside they could(for a fee).
  2. Musta been some pretty stout wire and anchored into just about everything on the front wall of the building to pull it all down like that.
  3. I haven't sent my registration in. Playing it by ear and staying in my trailer so no other reservations are needed anyway. At our club meeting last sunday, it was mentioned by our RVP that if you wanted to park INSIDE, they actually have buildings available for trucks(for an added fee). Interesting........
  4. Looking good. I'm kinda a round headlight kinda person myself, but nothing against the work you're doing.
  5. I can remember back 20 some yrs ago, buddies dad had asphalt business(still does). Was over the shop and was talking. I mentioned I'd never run a backhoe. We hopped on the old Case extendahoe and went out to the corner of the property and he said "here, have some fun". He told me his dad had done the same thing when he was young. When his dad came to check on him, he dam near had a pond dug in the middle of the parking lot!!!!
  6. LOL!!!
  7. Or you could tie it into the PTO control, when you turn the pump on, it dumps the air on everything. It only takes a few seconds to dump the air in my bags. Surely quicker then the bed could raise very far.
  8. That would be a good sales photo for Holland fifth wheels LOL!! Guaranteed to NEVER let go.
  9. I told the place where I bought it what I was doing. They didn't seem to think it was an issue. All else fails I might have to stand it up. Or maybe angle it some? All the pumps I've seen are all over the place for CFM and single/two stage. All depends on how much you want to spend.
  10. I have guages, no pump(Yet). Been looking online but not sure how big of pump I should get? Buddy has one I can borrow, but thought if I can get one for $100 I just buy it and have it for any service down the road. Seen all various capacities and just don't know how good of one I should buy. The DIY cans are like $13/each for 1lb of std 134a(not dyed or sealer type). So, it does add up if you buy the 30# can. Something I might look into. I have contact at local Napa, so might get it cheaper yet.
  11. Ya, kinda figured I have near $1K for a pair mounted........................ugh. Like to try to sell mine off for someones trailer? Less of an issue if something pops then on the steer axle.
  12. I'm looking for front rubber, 22.5's. I've had my Yoko's since 2001 without hassle. Put about 50K miles on them and still LOTS of tread, but they are "getting old" and don't want any worries for another 14 yrs. Haven't called around yet. I want American made if possible, don't mind spending a few extra dollars for them. Paid $250 for the Yokos back then, curious what they are today. Will be checking into it the next couple weeks as the truck will be able to get out of the garage.
  13. Agree, finding something worth taking out of a 50+ yr old truck and making it useful again will be a tough deal. Way too common to have them butchered up to find one worth keeping. Like mentioned, the insulation will be dried and broken too. Not factory, but places like Ron Francis and Painless have universal wiring kits that would be easily adapted. Unless you are dead set on originality.
  14. I have the Mack manual at home. Don't think there is much difference beyond some extra air getting blown into the 205 version. Block might have oil cooled piston nozzles installed? I've had thoughts of putting a turbo on my and just see what happens. Don't want to burn it up trying though, as it runs too good to mess it up.
  15. I paid extra for the "deluxe" version. It comes with extra scotch loks and duck tape just in case you need them.
  16. I'm hoping my door is unfroze maybe by this weekend? Sure would like to try out the new air steering beside sitting in the garage making motor noises and........well........um..............................
  17. Best of luck with the new job!
  18. Hope it is better then the system I bought. Flybynyte was the manufacturer.............. All the instructions were in Philipino. Took me a couple days to get it sorted out before I could install it........................................
  19. Just Azone generic 134a.
  20. I don't have to worry about getting stuck IN it. I can't even get my garage door open......... I wanna go out and try my new air steering> Dammit....
  21. Man, I just love the paint on that Super. Just old school cool.
  22. Well, as of Sunday it is complete. The a/c is all hooked up, lines, power, belt. You can turn the unit on and the fan works and it also powers the fan on the condensor. I had to add a tensioner bolt to the compressor to allow for easier belt adjustment. Just sitting in the cab with the fan on high.......it is quite a blast of air. I think if it cools as well as it should, it should be quite chilly. We'll see how it does with the old drafty cab at highway speed. I think it is suppose to be 14K BTU and that is larger then a typical small window air conditioner, so with this little cab I think it will be good. Now if I could get the door of the garage open I could charge the system. The air steering is complete and function also. The only thing needed is a GOOD washing to get all the greasy handprints off everything. WIth the weather taking a turn for the WARM this week(hitting 50 all week) I think the ground might settle a bit and allow the door to open? The gravel is heaved and it has the door wedged up against the track nice and tight.
  23. I don't think I could slide the axles on my car trailer no matter how much power I applied to them. I always pull test them in the driveway before leaving. I get the truck rolling and pull on the application arm. The truck will stop. Not instanteous like air brakes, but I make sure they work. I would not like having no trailer brakes. With minimum weight on the fifthwheel, my rear axle will lock up quickly and send me sliding into a jacknife. No thanks.
  24. Happy Birthday. Don't eat too many sweets.......................
