  1. Welcome. Brocky has it covered. Give us a bit more backround and we'll try to point you in the right direction.
  2. I know they offer an R cab, is your friend going to make a B cab? That would be sweet. I would almost put the money out for that(I know they aren't cheap). I could just about make my truck then as the typical KH bunk is large and would mimic mine pretty well. Just have to remove one of the tandems(Or buy another chassis and start over?).
  3. Here ya go: On the firewall, passenger side: The soft line goes to unloader on compressor. I originally pulled mine off and put a couple new o-rings on it. Seemed like it would be fine. Nope, a few weeks later the same issue. Just put a new one on it. Any big truck place will have one. I got mine at Cross truck parts.
  4. These guys are NUTZ!! They do cars, van, buses. It is a free for all. Hit or be hit. Full throttle, go for broke. I found this the other day while on my Smart TV and it now brings more up on my channel to watch. cars: How no one gets killed is beyond me? Reminds me of Days of Thunder when Cruise gets told to go hit the pace car. He askes "Why". Cause you've hit everything else!!!
  5. I was thinking along the same lines. Should be plenty of available air under the bunk to be able to be pushed down by the fan. If not, I'll get a BIGGER fan!! I spent yesterday building brackets to hang the additional air tank for the steering. Got some air lines run. Can't say I got real far, but little steps at a time. If I had enough brass fittings laying around I could go farther. Never seem to have the right ones. Every Saturday I walk into Cross Truck with a list a mile long.
  6. Luckily you only need the clutch to start out with. Just jam'm when you find'm after that. LOL!! On a side note: Was there something special going on yesterday? I was in the garage being productive and didn't watch any TV>
  7. Fellow on ATHS that is restoring a K100. The debate was going on about what is better. Even to the fact I mentioned building a special "faux" oil cap and fill it with oil to simulate ail bearing(so it looks period correct) even though it is grease packed. Again, it was a hobby truck and the thought was the oil seal might fail from lack of use.
  8. Yup, figured I have $800+ in a pair. Ugh. Don't really need top of the line, the old ones are Yoko's.
  9. We have a TON of city buses around here that run on NG.
  10. Ya, seem to hear that a lot LOL!! I just know that the $200 I paid for them back in '02 will not be what I pay for them in 2015! These only have about 50K miles on them. Lots of tread, just don't want to trust them as steer tires anymore. Time sure does fly by.
  11. If you are in a spending mood, and need another "kid", my B model could use a pair of steers!! They are dated 14 yrs old and just starting to see weather checks in the sidewalls. Time to replace them as I don't like to have to deal with it at 2am on the side of the highway. The old ones are far from used up and hope to sell them off to someones trailer.
  12. Ahhh, THAT kind of motorboating. (oops)
  13. Pretty cool stuff. The technology today just makes it WAYYY to easy. Just think back even 20 yrs and the early FI and all the headaches trying to get a factory computer to run. Today it is all plug/play.
  14. I'm thinking the sarcasm was being laid on pretty thick.................
  15. Cha ching. Looks good though. Loosing that pass. tank, likely cut your fill up distance in half! One 40 gal tank won't get you far.
  16. Back then, they would just spot weld two panels together with no protection, then paint it on the outside. It would rot from the inside and just fall apart. Even cars back then. The mid 70's they started galvanizing Ford truck inner fenders, as my earlier versions would just rot away and the hood would fall off. Even new cars today, panels rot bad if you don't do something with it. Two year old vehicle with the door jams all corroded. I took the g/f new Jeep and got it oil sprayed. She complained about the smell and the mess all summer(dripping from the seams), but it should stay around for awhile. I do my '89 F150 twice a year myself. It leaves a mess for a week, but I have a gravel driveway.
  17. Ya, after finding out a replacement boot was $75...........I knew I had to find a better way! Lucky I had a couple new Rancho boots in the garage. Though they are only like $9 at Summit Racing.
  18. I'm making headway: I have the bracket somewhat completed but a few details. I have a belt that fits, I'm cutting the hoses to fit. I even started the engine last weekend for a minute to see if the belt is working. So far, so good. I have the condensor mounted under the bunk: The lines are run, just need to cut to length and send them out to get crimped. I also need to get the wiring run to everything. I'm also working on the air steering. The mounting bearing was NLA for the cylinder. I found a similar version, but the OD was smaller. I whipped up a bushing at work and pressed the bearing into it. Worked otu perfect: I needed 1.312 OD, the bearing was 1.188. Installed: I also needed to fix up the original mounting bracket. Since the original bearing was junk, they just drilled the bracket to 3/4" and stuck a bolt through. I fixed that with some bushings also. The bushings also space the cylinder to the middle of the bracket. The original kit had just spacers, but I just made it all one piece. Perfect!! I have it all hung under the truck. I'm working on getting the added air tank mounted to the frame and lines run. I also got the flipper valve mounted inside the truck. I had space next to the CB, over the a/c unit. I made a bracket and milled the opening to fit just like they do in the dash. Just need to label it in some manner.
  19. Yup, throw a hood on it and instantly is a GTO. I see a battery shut off in the right corner. Musta been someone's race car at one time(battery in truck mandates a shut off). Likely why it sat under a shed for all these years with no motor in it. The ol 326 gave up the ghost!!
  20. Facebook has a page for everyone. I'm on a wagon page and you should see some of the 80's stuff that is still around. Nice shape too.
  21. Get Tools Out! Looks like that one lived under an old shed for a few decades.
  22. You too Ken? I don't ever walk into deals like that. I have a friend that does. I'm never in the right place at the right time.
  23. We've got Quad dump trailers around Ohio. Almost as short as that with all the axles they can fit. East Manufacturing makes them, they are local to me. By the looks of the trailer you posted, I don't think the fifth wheel separates.
  24. So we're basically talking a trash truck type vehicle. What variety of Mack came in those typically?
  25. Back in the early days we had Sprint here at work(I loved the push to talk). I used to head south of town and loose all service. I asked why...........and all they could say was the animal count was higher then human and they said no need to put up towers. Wonderful. I now have Verizon. Much better service around here. My Sprint would not work in my house. Had to go outside to make a call. My ATT DSL got shut down in my area. I had to "upgrade" to Uverse. It is cheaper then DSL and a bit quicker. They tried to wrap me into a bundle but told them my antenna works just fine on the roof and don't need their phone service either. Tom, if I did alot of driving, Sirius would likely be back on my list. I hate chasing radio stations, but anymore I have tons of music on my phone so I can listen to it instead.
