  1. I put air ride under mine a few years ago, but I also stretched it 5ft. I used a Neway single axle from a Ford chassis. It worked out very well and the new frame actually slid right over my existing frame and I just bolted the section on. I have to seach the link to my post from a couple years back> It was in chassis forum. Here it is: http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/16282-adding-air-ridestretching-frame/?hl=%2Badding+%2Bair
  2. I've got Interstate in mine right now. No problems for 4? years now.
  3. Check your PMs. Thanks.
  4. Though it's a Chevy, I do like it. Classic hot rod.
  5. How did I know THAT was coming...............
  6. My bunk cut out is around the top the rear window, so even a repop headliner would fit okay in that area. I had a local shop do the crawl through stitchwork and I installed it. I had thoughts of taking just the headliner, but it is so out of shape if he copied it likely it would not fit. I need to take the whole truck, but that is an expense I am not ready to put out yet. I want to make door panels too. Nothing fancy, just some simple diamond stitching maybe. Then snap it on. Again, someday.
  7. G/f got me a new Mack shirt, the red/white/blue flag version(not sure how new the design is?). She would fill it out very, very well. Only problem is she will NOT allow pictures to be taken of her. No how, NO WAY!!
  8. NIce headliner. Is that a new repop or a custom piece? I need one really bad. My original one is really starting to fall apart at the seams., literally.

  10. Looks to be a 673. Look right at the front of the accy drive area, around the top, it should be stamped "END 673" in large letters.

  13. http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/hvo/4774471941.html B model Mack engine and transmission. In frame was used for sawmill. I'm guessing a B67 with the engine being laid over?
  14. Interesting for sure. Likely more hi-tech then I've seen on Youtube?
  15. Well, back in the 70's when I first started on my buddys base station I was "Silverstreak". Mainly because I loved the movie when it came out(with Richard Pryor and Gene Widler). After getting on the interweb thingmabob I became "Freightrain", but rarely ever get called that on the radio since nobody really talks on them. Got them in my daily driver and the B model(though hearing it is a concern LOL). It was always handy when I traveled the highway to work everyday(construction for 10 yrs straight). Not so much anymore, as I take back roads. But I will always have it just in case. In the racing crowd I'm "Battlestar" because of the car. Though have been know to answer to "Hey A-hole"........ Grew up with a Navaho 23 channel, finally died a few years back and I found a President Madison base to replace it. I like the old stuff too, even though I have Uniden's in the trucks. I do have a vintage Realistic "phone" CB upstairs. I always wanted one growing up, since it looked like you were talking on the phone and that was cool back then(long before cellphones). It works, but is pretty noisy with the lack of much filtering in the power side. Cool none the less.
  16. I'd pull the line down off the valve and see what kind of pressure/volume you have. I agree, could be pretty weak and once you have air being jammed back down the diaphram won't respond with the lack of air volume. Make sure the trumpet is screwed firmly to the base. I know mine was loose at one point and was sick sounding. Once I grabbed it and snugged it up, it is crazy stupid loud.
  17. Yup, seen it a few times make exhibition passes.
  18. You can't really kill a Detriot............even though Yardo no one here would ever try Usually some basic maintenance will get it buz'n with full power again.
  19. Pretty cool. Bet that is one rough rid'n short truck!!
  20. I dodged the bullet last week. Yup, up by the lake it was BRUTAL, with getting FEET of snow. Shutting down I90 and such. Canton didn't get anything. We finally got about 4" yesterday morning. Now just it's single digits and wind!! Ugh. I hate winter.
  21. Buyer has joined BMT!
  22. Welcome aboard. Yup, put some new filters on it. It sounds just like my truck after I bought it. Ran fine around town, the first short jaunt up the highway and it would start to cough and sputter. I "assumed" the maintenance had been kept up from the towing company. Not so much. The filter was near clogged shut with slime and crap. Once fixed, it has purred for 13 yrs now.
  23. Wow....you surely are cleaning out the garage! Neat stuff. I do work for a fellow with an original 454 Monte. My friend back halfed it a couple years ago and he put a 800hp blown 496 BBC in it. We questioned why he could cut up an original 454 car. He said "cause he wants to". He's had it forever and wanted to pro street it.
  24. Got one, but it is just a table top Craftsman version. Does want I need it to, but woulda loved to have a more industrial version. When doing metal work, you gotta have something to knock the burrs off!
  25. Now that's thinking outside the box.
