  1. The bad part is typically there is no place to get ahold of the wheel with a puller. NO threaded holes and if you try to grip under the lower edge it is so brittle it just breaks the plastic.
  2. Ohhh, cool. Xmas presents to me?
  3. 11 tooth? Interesting factoid. Thanks, I was curious to what mine was and was going to drop it to count.
  4. Just had to remove mine this past summer. I loosed the nut just enough, then using my air hammer with small round headed chisel I whacked on the shaft while lifting the wheel slightly with my legs. Popped right up. Leaving the nut on allows you to make sure the threads don't get messed up. No lube needed, but some PB shot down on the splines under the nut CAN'T hurt. It really went easier then I though it would. Ditto on the shop. Nice, and you don't have to go outside to change your mind like my garage LOL!!
  5. Welcome aboard. Nice truck AND dog.
  6. Holy Pumkin holders Batman!!!!
  7. Happy Birthday anyway......................
  8. At first glance, I thought it was a Cruiseliner, with those single headlights. Does also have many "G" looks to it also(no wonder). What suspension is it? Does the rubber band make it have that cantilever set up added to what was there as a single axle? I've seen other belt drive trucks, but never paid enough attention. This one looks unique.
  9. Wow, bet that is a heartbreaker to see drive away for the last time.
  10. Hmmm, Saturday? I spend the first half in a meeting for the big truck show in Ashland(i'm on the committee). Left house at 8, got to Bills at 9, got to Ashland at 10. Meeting til 1. Got back to Bills at 2. Got to buddy's work at 2:30. We went to Alliance so he could buy a car. Finally back home at near 6pm. Then met him for dinner at 7, home just after 8pm. 12 hours gone!! Sunday I was suppose to do truck club auction, but I got so much NOTHING done on Saturday I spend the day doing chores/shopping and such.
  11. Ya, price per year was not bad at all. And for not having to deal with flats or such was also a good thing. I try to keep things simple. I'll spend some money to make my life easier. Plus the fact when a front goes out it usually takes lots of things around it with it. Not a good thing in my book. Paul, they are 22.5's.
  12. My .02. Ya, B71 with the extended nose is pretty unusual to see anymore. Pretty sure that was done to fit a cummins in the smaller hood trucks. Wonder if it is just the clutch disc is rusted to flywheel? Or is one of the transmissions stuck in gear? Typically the shifters will get gummed up from sitting. MIght take a prybar under the floor and some lubrication to get it back to working. If not, might be broken inside? Hopefully just needs clutch broke loose. Truck looks pretty solid/rust free? Pricewise? $5K depending on how nice it is in person?
  13. Ya, I spent $1800 back when I put all six on it(converted from tube type). Didn't think time would go by so quickly and have to do it again...ugh. I figure $400+ for a decent tire like a Firestone or such. I would hope someone would give me something for these old ones? $75 each? $50? Or would the date code pretty much make them worthless for anyone?
  14. Ok, after 12 yrs on the Yoko's on the front of the B, I noticed some very fine checking on the sidwalls. Not broke through, just fine lines. The tires are dated 13 yrs old, but with only 50K miles on them they have life left in them. I plan on putting a new set of steers on next spring just because I don't want to have to deal with a blowout. The drives have no issue and I don't feel they are as much a problem if they did. Up front, I kinda like to not have to wonder when they will come apart. Would they be worth anything to someone for a trailer tire? Kinda like to get a few bucks back to cover the new ones. I doubt I'll get new ones for the $250 I paid for these back in 2002. I know it is at least $500 each now if I try to get something better then a chinese knockoff. Or maybe it isn't worth it?
  15. I'm thinking... I can put my race car on rollers, attach them to the trailer tires and when I come to a hill.....just BOOST'r up a bit LOL!! Be the fastest B Model ever!
  16. I guess if you swing a hammer for a living, then you want as light as weight as possible. I know talking with the guy that did my roof, he talks about about these "special" hammers and how expensive they are. Guess this is one of them?
  17. Luckily I don't buy much of anything, so it is a moot point to me. I agree, sometimes it is not good for a buyer to suddenly have more people interested but you can't just say that BMT is the fault of that. Way too many other places that it can be put to advertise and be seen. I get the aggrevation, but like mentioned, there are plenty of people that wait to the last second anyway so as to not arouse suspicion that they are interested. It's a game and if you don't like the outcome there are only two options. Quit or accept it.
  18. Way back in early days here at work, we used to only have a snap binder for our 1ton stakebed. Had a super trucker work for us for a short while. While using a pipe to unlatch it, instead of holding onto the back side of the pipe, he just pushed up on the pipe and it went airborne. Like 20+ feet and luckily I ducked, but another fellow employee didn't get out of the way in time and he got WHACKED!! Down for the count. Super trucker didn't even realize what he had done. Needless to say he didn't drive for us long. Snap binders are a PITA...twisting the chain til it got tight enough to latch good. We dont deal with big coils, but none the less you want to get it tight enough.
  19. Remember..........if the ladies don't find ya handsome, they should at least find ya handy.
  20. ^^ Ya, what Bob said! ya, that too...........
  21. Might need to contact your local DMV and see if they can research previous owner. Put in for lost title? That way you might get a line on last registered owner and see if you can get them to sign it over legally.
  22. I actually have a Wilkie button. I got it from a fellow maybe 30 yr odd ago. Bought the size of a 1/2 dollar, red/white/blue with a stick pin on the back.
  23. I'm thinking, after doing some research on my air starter........there were some that were constant engaged pinion gears. Thus you could actually hit it and not hurt the ring gear or starter.
  24. Isn't that the hood you took borrowed to fix your super when you got that deer?
  25. How about a cross ram 413? That would be COOL!
