I'm thinking Kevin Black from ATHS was there when the guy fired it up for the first time? Seems I recall him posting the vid on ATHS forums years ago. Maybe he just found it and posted it? Kinda fuzzy with the details. Looks like a pretty decent truck. Would love to have it, but no place to park it and the old V8 would be a kink if anything happen to it when I travel alot.

When I took my test about 12 yrs ago the reverse serpentine was the easiest part. Keep the trailer tires in the right line and the rest just follows.

I'm thinking those "almost new Michelins" might be a bit rotted by now by the looks of the moss on everything.

I have a new check valve inline to suspension.

If I make it out, I'll be staying in the Battlestar Motel(my trailer). Like Mike did in South Bend, I'll tell them it's a 1987 trailer instead of 1997 and park it in the show field instead of the back forty like at South Bend. The field was not mowed recent and with the rain my pants and boots were always wet. Ugh.

BUT...if you screw up....."weak are killed and eaten" comes into play. Plenty of internet Rambo jerkoffs, but if you keep clear of them, it is a good place.

I know when I rebuilt the LF spring, that isolator was a biotch to get back in. Well, not horribly bad, but took a couple tries to get it squared and settle in the right spot. I know they must have been replaced sometime in the past as it was still very nice condition. I did notice with the new spring and new rear bushing that it rides nicer since the bushing actually takes grease and probably moves now. I shoulda fixed it 12 yrs ago, but kept putting it off. Glad i finally took the time, as it wasn't that bad of a job.

My IE won't quote at home. I use Chrome at work and it works fine. Can't attach pics at home either. I have Chrome at home now, but don't always use it.

I think a 300 Mack is about the biggest I've seen without lots of work to make fit.

You mentioned it was up high. Keep an eye on the PTO covers also. I had one that rotted through and developed a small drip. Had to drain it and replace it with new cover.

Sad part, he likely got the cab "For nothing" cause it was sitting in a barn somewhere. Those hot rod guys don't like to pay much for the stuff they are going to cut up.

The cab is gone, likely not enough to try to put back together. If they would have just put the cab on the chassis like it was suppose to. Not channel it.

I like it!!! Good thinking. Why reinvent the wheel when someone already made it for you. Great work on the rest of it. How proper would it be to pleat the back wall?? Or put the old Mercury fantail design in it? That is something I've put thought into with my bunk. It has a two piece rear wall. If I could come up with some stainless, I'd like to either pleat it or fantail it to give it a more "old" look. I could do this with my bunk.

Nice work Vlad. Unfortunately that is how they usually go. After last weeks race, I found the bottom of my side door in my race trailer was rotted off(like 12" worth) inside the door. Only thing that was holding it together was the alum extrusions around the outside. I ended up building a complete new door from scratch. 1" x 1 1/4" dimensional Poplar. All corners dutch lapped. Screw/glued to 1/4" luan: I got it installed Sunday after reusing the existing outside alum skin. Looks all the same.. I have a couple more pics I need to download. If the factory had only primed the inner pieces, it would not have rotted. Sound familiar? Though the door did last 17 yrs. Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread. Before I got the free bunk for my truck, I was really, really wanting to build a bunk for mine. That way I could make it how I wanted and then skin it to resemble a Mercury.

It looked pretty short. I was going to guess 32" if anything. Best deal of doing my truck, the 42" bunk was FREE!!! It was even white ta boot.

I bought my grille from Barry about 12+ yrs ago? $600. Now they are much, much more if still available. Barry was working on getting a visor remade, not the Lund, but an Aussie version. Never got finalized.
