  1. My B model has bolt on brake linings. Those brake chambers were very similar to what mine had on it when I bought it.
  2. Hey Paul. Nope, didn't go at all. Ya, it was the nationals with all the big boys............but for some reason I don't get too excited to watch them. I had plenty of other activities going on anyway. Saturday I went on a train excursion trip for the day. Sunday I spent 1/2 day wrenching on my daily driver pickup getting the exhaust fixed up and now I can sneak around without anyone hearing me. The rest of Sunday was spent stretched out on the couch LOL!! My next stick race is National Trails(columbus, Ohio) at the end of the month.
  3. Seems the actual repair is always much easier then the time it takes to get to the repair area in anything car/truck related.
  4. I rented a Hertz Freightliner about 7 yrs ago to haul a buddies flatbed so we could do some machine hauling/scrapping at work. I walk out and get in and look in bewilderment. Where's the key hole? I searched high and low with no avail. I couldn't believe they hid it that well. I was just going to step out and go ask and that is when I noticed a small pocket in the dash, down next to the door hinge. Yup, ignition key. Ugh, I guess you are suppose to insert the key when you open the door BEFORE you get in? You can't literally see it after sitting in the seat.
  5. I made my B from 150 to 206" and WOW.....what a difference. The air ride was just a drop in the bucket over the longer wheelbase. No more "bucky" ride due to short length. To see those really short day cab COE single axles!! They make my head hurt just looking at them sitting still.
  6. Anyone remember this video? When Pawel gets his to actually run(and drive)..........we'll know he has fallen over the edge!!!! LOL!!
  7. Our '99 F450 stakebed has the front track rotted off inside the door(piss poor design-galvanized except where they spot weld the bracket on which where it rots apart). Can't roll the window all the way down or it falls out and jams up when you try to roll it back up. PITA. I checked with dealership and they offer the whole track assy..........I just have to get ambitious enough to tear it all apart and replace it. For now, I took the handle off(since the driver has jammed it up twice now) and just use the a/c.
  8. This is the one you guys bought about a year ago? I remember pics, you are in Columbia Station.
  9. My triplex and 4spd(deep under) is nice with my 4.10 gears. 65 mph is 1800 rpm in single OD. But got enough gear to get 83 mph in double OD. Just don't really have enough power to do it much.
  10. For that money, it would be cheap to regear it. I suppose it is a 237?
  11. Wow...that's determination!!
  12. http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/cto/4527127850.html 1961 B61 Mack Dump, single rear axle, with thermodyne diesel engine. Engine runs good, very little rust on body, nothing major, frame is solid and hardly any rust at all. The dump bed could use a little work. Started to rewire from rear of truck forward. No need for truck. Losing interest. $8,000. OBO
  13. Some one scrapping that one piece at a time?
  14. Yes, a haze is good. Don't have enough motor to do this........
  15. I used 2nd direct. I used to have the pump turned up a bit. That was when diesel was $1/gal. I got 4mpg but she ran good. I since turned it back. It gets 8mpg pulling trailer with just a haze of smoke. It still splatters up the front of the trailer some. With no turbo I think it did its share.
  16. Ok, someone actually took a video of my truck at the truck show last weekend while we had the truck pulls Sunday!!! Kinda cool. I went 297 ft, which was 2nd place of the three single axle trucks. First place went to Bill Peters KW, which has a 290 Cummins in it. He went 335ft. Another Pete broke ring/pinion at 271ft for third place. For only 180 hp I think I fared pretty well. I pulled in 2nd direct. http://s3.photobucket.com/user/Freightman/media/100_1408_zps4fff32a7.mp4.html
  17. Paul....you shoulda seen the look I got last fall when I needed points/condensor for my '64 Galaxie. Been 13 yrs since I put the last set in, finally needed new ones. Surprisingly Azone actually had a set?
  18. And a reason why I don't really post anything on Facebook. I lurk around, but don't say much. Not that I'm not friendly, but just not a talker on there.
  19. Mine let got at the top of second gear(6K rpm). Shook real bad. That big piece of counterweight at the back of the crank that was still attached to the flywheel had to finishing turning before the shake went away. Crank was in FIVE pieces, all the way up to the center thrust bearing. Front half was just fine LOL!!
  20. I'll be there in ALL my glory. Hoping the sun gods are on our side!
  21. Broke camshaft...............Pfffft........childs play................ My 428 back in 2000. That bend up rod on the right? I had to take the cap off(laying next to rod) as it was still hooked to a piece of crank. It was NOT going to let go, no matter, no how. Proudly kneeling by my mess:
