They say the truck should not be out of gear longer then its own length. I try to but with three sticks it isn't always doable(or worth the work to get there). Looking far enough ahead is the key. Beyond unforeseeable circumstances.

Kinda makes my180hp and 400lb/ft sound kinda.......well......weak. LMAO!!!! To have that kinda power on tap. I know what it is like. From going from my daily driver pickup with anemic 302 to my '69 F100 with 428cj as it just pulls and pulls. Goes as fast as you want to go.

Welcome aboard. Unfortunately many of those common parts are nonexistent today. Watts does a great job of keeping things alive.

Using the math, about 68 mph. Not a big change for all the work.

My guess is about 5% faster......you'll gain about 3 mph. 4.62/4.42= 1.045% faster So 60 mph x 1.045 =62.7 mph

WOW!!!!!!!!! That turned out GREAT!!

Thanks goodness I had 10ft ceilings in my garage. I had to cut the small door out and build a barn door to get the B in there. Door on the left was typical for this end. Luckily they just framed in the short header so I could cut it out and use the 10ft one. Had to cut the pipes down on the truck to get them to just clear(by like 2"). Have to pull the left mirror in also to get it to squeeze in the narrow opening. I'm thinking it is 9ft wide. The bunk is 8ft, gives you 6" on each side. The mirrors stick out a bit more then that.

Don't look so hateful just sitting there. (I can't post pics from home, had to wait til I got to work today) Interesting set up on the front with those riveted on pads for the isolators/slippers. Didn't realize it was all that. I hope they can do something with it? That front side is spread from rust after all these years being broke loose. I hope they can just put two top leafs in, clean up the rust and reclamp it. The rear portion is well oiled LOL!!

TADAAA!!!! Well, a little heat in the right place and the air hammer pushed it right out. Didn't really want to be reminded of how heavy those spring packs are!! UGH. Lot easier to let them fall out then it will be to push it back in. Got it loaded in my pickup and will get it dropped off this week. Feeling a bit relieved now.

Well I got the front clamp off(only one broken bolt but it is exposed with lower clamp off so some heat and visegrips should get it out). The u bolts came off with my 3/4" impact!! The pin is STUCK. Likely take some heat to break it loose. Got to clean up oil/grease before getting in there with a flame. If I had a more industrial sized air hammer it might move? Like to get it out today?

Thanks for the heads up. My local spring guy could not come up with any replacement springs sets. Without special order and crazy prices!! He said for a few hundred bucks I'll have it back to good and new U bolts and pin. I was going to work on the pin today before cutting bolts and tearing into the front clamp. Maybe I'll go ahead and cut it all loose and the pin "might' come out? I doubt it since it has never taken grease and is likely stuck pretty tight in the bushing. 12 yrs ago I tore the rear springs apart but it was easy with it being out in the open. Of course it is an oily mess, so torches will be tough to use, but don't have much of a choice. No real room to swing a sledge either(had thoughts of removing the fender?).

I am hoping that reusing most of the pack, only replacing the top few will keep the arch the same, thus not screw the ride height up too bad. I'll take an inch one way or the other as I don't think that will make it look lopsided. If it is worse, then I'll have to take the passenger side out and duplicate it? Maybe once they get the clamps off the back and look at the leafs individually, maybe they aren't bad and can just reclamp it?? Maybe? if it is bad, then I will just put a U model cab on it and then no one will notice the lean LOL!!!!

Well, after 12 yrs, I'm finally going to fix the LF spring on my truck. The two front clamps have been broken the top few leaves have been separated since who knows when? Nothing broke(yet), but thought I would finally take a stab at getting the pin out. Ugh. Got it jacked up this afternoon, removed wheel and lock bolt for the pin. Using my trusty lil air hammer I took a few hits at it. Nuth'n, nadda, ain't moving. Started scraping grease off everything so I can get into it with some heat tomorrow. Once I get that moving, I'll whack the Ubolts off and loosen the front clamp so I can get the spring out. Already spoke to spring shop and they are going to rebuild it with some new leafs and use over what ever they can. Right front springs is still perfect condition so won't need to pull it apart. The left springs has never gotten grease into the pin since I owned it. No matter how hard I tried. Of course the right side takes grease fine. Just another project I've put off forever, but figured my luck will run out sooner or later and leave me stuck on the side of the road.

Weather for today was suppose to be mild and near 50*. Well, we just had white out conditions and the highways are a MESS with accidents. So much for mild and 50*??

Hell, I was going to laugh and say my ol B model will run 85................til I realized you had a trailer behind you LMAO!!!!

When I broke the spring on the back of my B model, I used a 4x4 and a rachet strap to get home LOL!! Can't say it rode any worse with the lumber holding it up then it did with the springs?? I jacked it up, wedged the 4x4 between the fifth wheel brackets and the top of the spring clamp. Then a strap to hold it in place. Purrfect.

Ya, Minnesota has been getting it all this winter. Even here in Ohio, we are starting to see signs of spring, but the national map always shows snow/cold up your way. Bummer. I'm about going out of my mind here, but it is sneaking into the 40's during the day!!! Yaa!
