  1. All their trucks are cool. Their B model is my absolute FAVORITE, bar none.
  2. Here's one: http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/for/4474848911.html Those mufflers are no way quiet enough. I put a new stock muffler on mine($65 online) and it is very quiet. Or help out the WHOLE neighborhood: http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/hvo/4470830271.html http://cleveland.craigslist.org/bfs/4472073160.html or a 6500 watt model: http://cleveland.craigslist.org/boa/4489908237.html
  3. AWD too. Very tough, go anywhere truck.
  4. Trucks look familiar. I'm thinking it is the same guys from Oregon that have the show out there and then run the moutain pass with 30 or so trucks.
  5. The bad thing is the cheapie ones will end up failing JUST WHEN YOU NEED IT!! After sitting for a long time, blah, blah, blah. Getting parts is nill for them. Buddy got one of thes little two stroke models and it failed right ouf of the box. I think they replaced it for free and the one he has now runs fine. He uses it to charge the battery on his race car at the track. I've found a couple Onan 4K's on craigslist that people have set up for home use with a jerry can and such. Ya, about $500 is common for a decent running one. That is what I paid. Since I put a new fuel pump on mine, it purrs like a kitten for hours on end. No more surging and sputtering at a half tank of fuel. I'd like to have a 5-6K unit so I could power the house when need be, but those are a bit more money when you find them. I've found nice larger back up units on craigslist also. Not priced too bad either.
  6. I know Dean Ashby put one on the back of his Acar to pull his Airstream. His truck has walking beam? Or was it puck? Something without too much give anyway. I used to have a picture of the setup he built. Kinda similar but I think he built it into the rear plate of the truck so any receiver he put in had the dampening effect. I don't know where any pics of PeterJ's H model is with the setup he had? All his gallerys here are gone.
  7. Always wanted to do one of the hot rod tours. Just never had the disposable income that one of my hot rods would eat up in fuel!! They do look like fun. Like Bob...it's on my bucket list.
  8. Looks good! The air ride on the truck will help with not beating the trailer to death, but the light tongue weight might not do a lot? Something like this comes to mind: I've seen various models and a few home built ones too. Might need an "UNDERSIZE LOAD" banner on the back of the trailer?? LOL!!! (kinda like PeterJ had on his Scotty).
  9. Couple batteries and some starting fluid and awayyyy you go.
  10. I also put a couple red marker lights under the dash. I can now see around inside the truck at night without it being obnoxious. You can't see the fixture, just the red glow at your feet. I put a couple of those tiny red LED lights inside the front corner of the bunk. Makes it nice to see to move around without the white flood light glaring.
  11. I like a plain, stock looking truck as much as the next guy.........but again I like a few extra lights myself. I put a couple under the doors of my B so the tank step is lit up at night. Then a couple under the bunk.
  12. I'd like to have the a/c bracketry off the green truck. That looks like it would work well on a B model. That and the water pump pulley.
  13. On mine, there was a housing in the middle of the motor with two bolts that held the linkage to the motor. That housing held a gear that rode on the rack inside the motor. Not sure how they did it with newer trucks? I don't have a picture handy. There should be some valving in one end of the motor(should be the end with the hoses attached). If that gets sticky, it will not reverse the direction of the motor. Does the dash control leak air? Could be the valve?
  14. I chewed off a big bite when I bought my B 13 yrs ago. Just take it one step at a time.
  15. Remove the bumpstops. They won't hit then LOL!! Or at least shorten them? I just had my drivers side pack rebuilt on the front of my B model. Not that big of deal and any local spring shop should be able to assist.
  16. It has Ohio Historical plates on it. It sure does have an odd look about it. Almost like an Astro looking front end? Someone put a late model grille shell with big letters over the original front end.
  17. Have a friend whose wife is quite the artist and she painted one of their rooms with old school gas station theme with his actual hot rods in it. I told her to make the rear of his 32 roadster pickup a real tailgate on the wall for a sitting bench.
  18. I wonder if it has anything to do with the unloader valve in the compressor? It makes noise, til you start making air? Wonder if the turbo boost air is affecting the valve itself. Broken spring?
  19. ...........and the biggest thing they ever drove was the little jeep hooked to the back. Sure, no problemo.............
  20. There is a fellow named Matt that lives in Virginia that I did some transmission work(Doug Nash) and he runs a FOX body with a turbo 4banger. He just posted on Facebook the other day I think it was going 6.60 in the 1/8 with "only 20#". Slowly creeping up on his goal. His latest video is on facebook, but here is from last year: Link to facebook video: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152131157076989 A friend locally tried to build one and he put it in a '72 Datsun body. It was a full tube chassis. He ended up selling it off before getting the bugs out.
  21. Dang, I was just over that way last weekend. I went down 220 to 322 to 522 to Beaver Springs.
  22. Headlights look like typical A model KW. Overall looks like a good project. Doesn't look too rotten.
  23. Thanks Van. That is kinda what I thought. No hurry, just am curious as that is about the only place you can put it.
