  1. My first mack driven was the B model I own. Bought it late fall 2001.
  2. Sadly I lock my B model at the races for the most part. I've caught people just crawling in it while I'm not there. NOT cool. I am more then willing to let them crawl through it and pick it apart, but ASK first. When people do come up and ask, they are sometimes afraid and I tell them to jump up and have fun. They aren't going to hurt it anymore then I can. Heck, I wish I could find someone to drive it. I'd like to actually SEE my truck going down the road just one time LOL!!
  3. Just taking longer since the "old truck shows" haven't been around as long. The whole technology change along with the economy dump really changed the world. Who can afford to go far at $4/gal for fuel. Let alone buy parts to put something together at todays cost. Back in 2001, I had no qualms dragging my stuff to West Palm Beach, FL to go to a race. Had a great time. I cringe going 150 miles now. I've been going to Columbus, Ohio for the "BIG" all Ford swap meet for 25 yrs now. It used to be quite the show with lots of cool cars in the corral and plenty of good parts. Now it's slim pickens and bring your mortgage note.
  4. Ya, to get it out of the way of the steering shaft on a R model. I can see the problem with that in a B model.
  5. "ran when parked"?? (in 1975) "garage still standing when parked"
  6. Don't look too hateful there Mike. Tandem too? Or just dead axle? Maybe even belt drive for that era?
  7. Never heard that story or saw the picture. I know that there has been plenty of these put in B models, along with even 300's. Can't see why anyone would cut the hood for the filter to fit? Like I mentioned, my spin ons came from an R model. Now you're seeing things in my light LOL!!!
  8. I DESPISE the cold, but everything I enjoy doing is right here in NE Ohio. I've traveled all over this land, but for some reason I like to come back here. No matter how much I hate the cold. Maybe when I get retirement age I will be more wiling to move?
  9. Just looking out for YOUR best interest....................that's all. Don't recall any post? That motor should just bolt right in. I already have spin on filters on my truck now(from non turbo 711 motor from an R model)
  10. Well, sounds like a BIG hill of beans and wayyyy too much effort. Tell you what, pull that old bucket of bolts motor and send it to me. I'll worry about that stupid water pump LOL!! (besides, that motor is just what my ol B needs)
  11. Bypass spring stuck? 20 psi won't hurt it idling, but I would not drive it far.
  12. Lift the fuel pedal up?
  13. He has $3500 in it and receipts? For what? How long ago? The LF tire is sunk in the ground 5" so it can't be very recent. No radiator?
  14. I've had mine for 8-10 yrs, so he may be out of the kits?
  15. "JODY"........doh, sorry about that. Fingers are moving quicker then the brain. Looking forward to the FE Reunion. The ol Mack will be there! Get Beaver Bob to let your dad take mine down the track!! That will wow the crowd. It will all come back to him........
  16. Jodie?? Is that you? I saw the name and just had to ask.
  17. I highly doubt it. Even if you remove the shifter towers, I don't think there is enough room to raise the lids and get the shift forks out without running into the bottom of the floor.
  18. I don't mind the foot controls(even though that is all Ive ever run), but the bad part is they are touchy sumbitches. You can't ease up anything. It's all UP or nut'n. Real PITA when you using the forks to load something or set something softly. Of course this machine is run hard/put away wet so it is plenty wore out.
  19. The main center panel is the only removable piece. The rest is welded in solid. I added a piece of 1" sq tubing to support the front seat brackets. Since I could not put any rolls in the metal to make it more rigid. I put the floor back in with three pieces, kinda like the factory did. Plus I had to be able to slip them around under the lip for the removable panel. I remade that lip also. Looks factory fresh enough for me.
  20. I bought my chrome riser from Matt Phal. Kit came with new small cap painted black. I used my big cap. No pipe I found comes in the right size to fit.
  21. I'm just interested in how they hook the column back up? I guess there is a coupler(that little red Spicer box) you weld on the shaft once you cut it off the original box? Just curious. I'd love to have some kind of steering assist, but I removed my generator many years ago.
  22. Matt Pfhal has the chrome extension to raise the hat up. It comes with the smaller hat. I like my big hat, so used it instead. The big hat, mounted on the cleaner would get whacked by the vent window if you opened the door with the vent swung open. My hat had a large dent in the rim from 40+yrs. I got it straightened and reinstalled. If someone needs a new small hat, I have one available.
  23. Buddy has an older 825? Two buckets, forks, tracks, NO HEAT or AC though LOL!! Man, that thing is as handy as a shirt pocket! Love borrowing it. His was a rental unit originally, think he paid about $10K for it. Don't want to know the prices today!! I know every little trinket that breaks is $300 on up.
  24. Simply badazzz!!!! Great video. Love the truck....and very jealous LOL.
  25. Always used some quick heat on the old ford twin I beam pins in my pickups. Got to heat quick(big torch) or it will soak in and expand the pin too.
