  1. Nice collection growing in the shop! Luckily I work where I have 3 Bridgeports to chose from and two large G/L horizontals to use(one has 4x8 table). Throw in dozen or so lathes, one is 40ft between centers LOL!! I do have a small table top mill at home, antique JET about 40 yrs old. This thing took the engine crane to put together and set up. 9x24 table,
  2. In other words...........like it was brand new?? LOL!
  3. Congrats on finding it!! Hope it all works out for you.
  4. Yup, I'm right at the Akron Canton Airport exit(113) on 77. Due east of highway just a stones throw. Photobucket is the easiest place to store photos online to link to a website like this. That is what I use.
  5. Those uphill races are insane!! Love watching them too. Could you imagine racing a B model LOL!! Start on Sat and finish on Sun LMAO.
  6. See the guberment just demands more and can't seem to understand that you and I can't just demand more pay?
  7. Cool. Interesting single headlight arrangement. Should it not be rectangular lights? Or is this a "Fleet" spec kinda thing? Or something someone rigged up along the way(likely)?
  8. Funny how MONEY makes everything okay? (well, at least for the guberment)
  9. Back in '03 I was going to ATHS convention in Syracuse. I still had truck plates on the Mack and went to get HUT temp permit. Christ, it was stupid. I was going 4 days, permit only good for 3 days. I'll be illegal coming or going so do I buy two 3 days? It was going to be $250!!!! Geezus. I quickly went to DMV and got historical tags and ran it that way. Haven't looked back.
  10. Tom, I know that area well myself. I'm about 1/2hr north. Too bad I missed the trip, I coulda swung down and check out the Super.
  11. If that "slipper" clutch is the same as the slipper clutch I run in my drag car, I would suppose you could use the clutch to shift(I do). Granted I am not putting 6000# of torque through mine, but it is only a 10.5" single disc rated at about 1000 HP(not sure torque rating). If you want some second opinion, call Tim Hyatt Racing services 440-417-0230. He deals in all kinds of clutches(drag, pulling, etc). Not sure if he has ever done something this big? Super nice guy, been in the business for 25+ yrs. He travels to all the NHRA races with his mobile work trailer. Tell'm Battlestar send you.
  12. They say the truck should not be out of gear longer then its own length. I try to but with three sticks it isn't always doable(or worth the work to get there). Looking far enough ahead is the key. Beyond unforeseeable circumstances.
  13. Kinda makes my180hp and 400lb/ft sound kinda.......well......weak. LMAO!!!! To have that kinda power on tap. I know what it is like. From going from my daily driver pickup with anemic 302 to my '69 F100 with 428cj as it just pulls and pulls. Goes as fast as you want to go.
  14. Welcome aboard. Unfortunately many of those common parts are nonexistent today. Watts does a great job of keeping things alive.
  15. Wow.....very cool! I'm envious!!!!
  16. It's an orange Louisville............but close as I could find.
  17. Using the math, about 68 mph. Not a big change for all the work.
  18. My guess is about 5% faster......you'll gain about 3 mph. 4.62/4.42= 1.045% faster So 60 mph x 1.045 =62.7 mph
  19. Love to have that for my B. Just too far away.
  20. WOW!!!!!!!!! That turned out GREAT!!
  21. Thanks goodness I had 10ft ceilings in my garage. I had to cut the small door out and build a barn door to get the B in there. Door on the left was typical for this end. Luckily they just framed in the short header so I could cut it out and use the 10ft one. Had to cut the pipes down on the truck to get them to just clear(by like 2"). Have to pull the left mirror in also to get it to squeeze in the narrow opening. I'm thinking it is 9ft wide. The bunk is 8ft, gives you 6" on each side. The mirrors stick out a bit more then that.
  22. Don't look so hateful just sitting there. (I can't post pics from home, had to wait til I got to work today) Interesting set up on the front with those riveted on pads for the isolators/slippers. Didn't realize it was all that. I hope they can do something with it? That front side is spread from rust after all these years being broke loose. I hope they can just put two top leafs in, clean up the rust and reclamp it. The rear portion is well oiled LOL!!
  23. Canadian money compared to US funds?
  24. TADAAA!!!! Well, a little heat in the right place and the air hammer pushed it right out. Didn't really want to be reminded of how heavy those spring packs are!! UGH. Lot easier to let them fall out then it will be to push it back in. Got it loaded in my pickup and will get it dropped off this week. Feeling a bit relieved now.
  25. Well I got the front clamp off(only one broken bolt but it is exposed with lower clamp off so some heat and visegrips should get it out). The u bolts came off with my 3/4" impact!! The pin is STUCK. Likely take some heat to break it loose. Got to clean up oil/grease before getting in there with a flame. If I had a more industrial sized air hammer it might move? Like to get it out today?
