  1. Yup, tried to quote your post and nadda. Hmmm, even tried copy/paste and put my own codes in and it wouldn't do it.
  2. Neat, looks like it's a pretty good runner. Bet going off that trailer it was like it was going to nose over LOL!!!
  3. They actually had a news story LAST WEEK about some people already camping out for black Friday. LAST WEEK!!!!! The guy they interviewed was like "it's my vacation time, I just spend it here". WTF>>>> They had tents and generators going. If I owned the store, I would have them sent packing. NO LOITERING in front of the store. I'd give them the night before, but not the WEEK before. Jezusss, what is the world coming to?? All that for an Xbox or some other useless electronic trinket you can buy any other day of the year?? Guess it all makes the world go round?
  4. My guess is the broken one is the brake light switch. Yup, should be easy enough to get replacements.
  5. Wow...wish I had that kinda room to work on my junk!! I have to go outside to change my mind LOL!! Just enough room to squeeze by on each side of my B. That's it. Glad I'm a skinny lil sumbitch.
  6. Most ALL 24v starters had FOUR 6volt batteries. Two on each side, coming to the S/P switch. That switch hooked them all in series for 24v to start, then back to 2 banks of 12v parrallel to charge. Don't know how they did it with only 3 batteries? Unless they didn't use the s/p switch and just had all three in parallel for 12v starter. The s/p switch system works, but you need GOOD cables to make it work properly. That is why most guys switch it over. I put up with it the first summer I had my truck, then converted it. Jim, that does not look like a s/p switch. More like a std solenoid. Not enough large battery connections to hook 4 batteries to that. This is what mine looked like.
  7. He was trying to fill it out while riding in a B model. LOL!!!!!
  8. Man....these E9 horror stories give me the heebie jeebies. Too bad they make it so you can't run this stuff daily anymore. Guess they are the cats azz when running, but a gold plated turd when you have to fix it. Sucks. I know a fellow over on ATHS site(Tony Brown) that bought a KW with a 3408 and tried to run it. It was shorted lived and ended up putting a 425 in it instead. He tried at least.
  9. I've seen the gutted walk in sleepers converted to seating for passengers. A little 36" would be TIGHT to sit up in and be comfortable unless you are young and short. I remember a KW posted here? that was a truck driver school truck and had seating in the bunk. I think it was here? Maybe Old truck site? Somewhere. How about finding a couple trash truck cabs(whatever model they are) and put them together to make a crew cab? That would be big and roomy. Likely find a chassis with automatic trans to go with it pretty cheap.
  10. Ditto, I would do a little investigating and find replacement parts on your own. In the long run it will be cheaper(even though it is out of your pocket today).
  11. Nutn wrong with a one stack mack with a window in the back!
  12. Wow....is that a crack (running from the air line back)? Yowza.....
  13. More to my liking. I've seen those conversion in restoration catalogs for cars/trucks. Just haven't seen one in person to see if I like them or not at night.
  14. Now that's cool! Not that I'm a fan of it, but I can imagine the work it took to make the boat look like the chebby.
  15. Welcome to the site! Nice project.
  16. I just had to share. This got posted at another forum I frequent. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6_RrFdI91c
  17. How is the air line? Have you removed the output line and see if you get air pressure directly from the shutterstat? My original line was old enough and had clogged shut going to the shutters.. A coat hanger shoved through it enabled it to work til I got a new line.
  18. I too know Brayden from the NEO ATHS chapter. Really nice guy from talking with him the last couple years. Never been down to his place though(not in the market for anything).
  19. Okay, in line with "things happen for a reason"............ A buddy of mine, retired, purchased a diesel pusher motorhome and a new two car stacker trailer. He and wife are going on the road and go to some west coast race tracks. Something he always wanted to do. He is 70 yrs old and decent health. They have been working on the details and getting ready to roll the last month. He has had issues with motorhome(used) and kept taking it back to dealer to fix things. Nothing serious, but he is pretty finicky and wants it "right". A week ago Monday he wakes with chest pains and goes to doctor. He ends up getting two stints put in Tuesday. Now, he had open heart about 16 yrs ago and found out that it is usually good for about 10 yrs before usually needing more fixes. He made it 16 yrs without fuss. He was to leave over a week ago to head out to west coast, but since he kept dealing with dealer they stayed home. Good thing. Dealing with a stroke on the highway is not a good thing. I stopped over Sunday afternoon and hung out in the garage with him for about 2 hours. He was feeling pretty good. They are now leaving after Xmas. He did mention that he won't be selling his home right away. They may find that living on the road is not all that it is cracked up to be. If he gets a year in and runs a few places he wants to, then his bucket list will be all checked off anyway. He can come back home and sell off the big motorhome and step back into a gasser class A like he had. I find that many times I want to get mad about situations. Then after the fact I find that it happened that way for a reason. And usually a pretty good one at that.
  20. Saw that on the news. Took a lot of people to put that all together. Very cool!
  21. It's now an 1.5 hrs east of me. Last owner was a bit closer(1/2 hour). Shoulda gone and kicked the tires this past summer. Not that I have any need for it.
  22. Looks to have a Tachograph in it? That's interesting for a "newer" vintage of truck. Typically seen in a 50-60's era truck.
  23. Dan............sumthin a miss about that B model. Narrow grille with a Cummins in it? Interesting grille work is what caught my eye. Looks pretty rust free too. Looks to be a brownie about 1/2 way back under that cover? I see shift rods.
  24. They musta used the same lasers they used here in Ohio? Or just really bad string? The people that put the bridges in and the people that put the road surface down remind me of this photo: They stand and wonder how they got them so far outta whack...............
  25. From their website: "7" Round headlight w/ 20" cable and connector. Galvanized closed-back body. Truck-lite LED bulb. Replacement for Mack trucks." So they are offering their headlight bucket with Truck lite bulb. Still at $521 each I'm not in the market. Sorry. Adding that kind of cost to a new $100K truck is not a big deal. Adding $1K to a 50 yr old truck is not so budget friendly. They are not selling Tiawan knock offs, they appear to be OEM manufacturers. SLC is their distributor to the aftermarket. http://www.atc-lighting-plastics.com/ I won't bash them for trying to offer their product to a market like ours. Only problem is we don't have the funds to spend on items of this nature.
