  1. Can't make it myself either(what else is new). Was just in Pittsburgh last weekend for my race. Oh well, hope it is a good one. Looks like lotsa rain for Ohio this weekend.
  2. Wow....the ladle is actually the funnel. Very cool find.
  3. He put 110K in the restoration? Wow..........why did that not include a 300 or 350 motor?
  4. Clearances too tight when they put it together??
  5. I always enjoy dirt moving shows. They kinda go hand in hand with antique truck people. To watch a skilled cable operator is awesome. Been few years back, down at Pataskala, Ohio show, the Buckeye Vintage Diggers were making noise and there was an elderly gentleman running a dragline. This fellow had a gimp arm and could hardly walk but he worked that crane like it was brain surgeon. Smooth, steady and pin point accuracy. I took some video tape, but need to get it over to digital format.
  6. Welcome to the jungle Dan!
  7. ..............cause once you find "chicks".........trucks will be the LAST thing you'll be thinking about.
  8. Looks like a pretty solid truck to start with. That is always a good thing.
  9. OUCH!! $26K total!!! You paid $5k out of pocket. Man, my wallet hurts just thinking about that one.
  10. Wow...now I see why it's $290K. That's not just a plain ol resto job. Man, that thing is CLEAN and STRAIGHT and CHROME!!
  11. Yup, I'll take the pleated sleeper version. The late model raised bunk just don't fit a B models lines. Appraisals. Good for getting a nice insurance pay out if something happens to it. Nothing much else.
  12. Got a local dirt guy that has a little swing fender Dodge single axle dump that runs around occasionally. Bright yellow, pretty decent, well kept truck. Don't know any specs on it. Need to snap a pic sometime. Kinda funny how it has that TALL hood and the motor is dropped 1/2 way through the frame rails?
  13. Good eye.............
  14. Very nice truck. Glad to see it went to a good home. Hope you enjoy it.
  15. But WAIT....................if you order in the next 60 minutes......................................... each order comes with a surprise gift................
  16. Wow...that looks like it would make someone a very nice lil tractor. Wonder where they found such a clean, old R model? Wonder what their reserve is?
  17. It's time like that that seem like an eternity. Everything is in slow motion. Glad you made all the right decisions.
  18. Hey, I got the fellow from ATHS that is interested in the General. Can there be a connection made, he has interest in the rest of the truck. What engine?
  19. Boy that things looks HEAVY!!!!!!
  20. My first pickup was a 1972 1210 Binder, 345/4 spd. Township road truck, beat to death as typical. $150 at auction. Drove it for about a year and sold it for a few bucks more(after 3 clutches....long story). It had no inner fenders, not much floorboards and drank gas like there was a hole in the tank. I was only 17 at the time. I know a fellow in Florida that woulda scooped that General up. He is member of ATHS.
  21. who can forget this one? http://youtu.be/HYyP5VIcKOs?t=46s
  22. Might have to call and harass the ol buzzard!!! LOL! Haven't rub elbows in over a year now. He moved out to Orrvile ways a year or so back. Hope it's a good one Greg.
  23. Wow, that's a tragic story, with like you say bittersweet ending. As a side note, I try to slide the tires/rims under a vehicle I'm working on. Just as a "what if" and lucky never needed them. In a flash, life changes. My condolences to you and his family.
  24. Them photos don't look NUTH'N like I seen at the Post Office?? Hmmmmmmmmmmm, maybe cause they outta focus?? LOL!!!! I like that Phantom shirt. Very cool.
