  1. And NO ONE even mentioned the sidewinder tow truck? Vinny..............you're slipp'n
  2. Wow. Can't imagine what the original purchase price was, but for $4250 I think it's a steal!!!! Wish I had a reason(or place) for it.
  3. I kept a copy of the original title with MY name on it just for a keepsake. I also found a Franklin Mint model very similar to that car. I tried to keep the original owner manual, but the purchaser insisted I give it with the car(darnit). The original manual was written as such as it was talking to the "driver", not persay the owner. Those cars were OVER engineered with self lubrication systems and all kinds of trinkets to maintain.
  4. Welcome to the forums. Very light hearted around here. Have fun and ask away!
  5. I want the budd hubs off that B!!! (iffn it's a FA517 axle)
  6. I freaked couple years ago when I ordered ends for my B. I figured they be LH and RH. Nope, just different pitch threads. Falls into the category of "what were they thinking?"
  7. Randy, I think it was "the other Randy" that posted that infamous butt welder shop photo? LOL!!! At my age, cloting is still optional outside:
  8. Is the 673 different then a 711? I run a pair of matched belts(have to look tonight to get number)from local bearing distributor. Even a piece of string could be use to get you a close guess. Then see if you need longer/shorter from that.
  9. Actually, I did own a '55 Rolls Royce. Inherited from a close friend. Fellow in the middle(Bill) left it to me back in the early 90's. Here we are in Florida picking it up. He rebuilt the engine and got it running again. It sill needed tons of work and at the time I was not in the position to keep it. The fellow on the right is BIll Haynes, of the Haynes Criss Cross directory fame(it was the reverse phone book where you look up a number to get an address). Bill and Bill were close friends and we stopped for a short visit while down in Stewart. Me back when I was young, dumb and full of ambition....LOL!! My "Chaser" T shirt, that was a local band that had a few one hit wonders on the radio back in the late 80's. Car was RH drive, which woulda been cool to have. Leather interior with the fold down tables in the back. Just kinda crusty underneath with lots of mechanical issues to deal with.
  10. Hand job and a blow dry???
  11. Anything "hillly" is not a fun trip for the most part in my truck LOL!!! I've found that out in the last 12 yrs. Especially this past spring in PA!!! Ugh.
  12. Ouch. Did someone lengthen it for use behind a tandem truck? I think the green one that was posted earlier is a better deal.
  13. I had a lady examiner..........go figure. She was very professional, and did give me some leeway on things. I think she knew I knew what to do, but you know how you get taking tests sometimes. She wouldn't directly tell me, but would "cough" and "clear her throat" and I'd do the right thing.
  14. Too their defense, I don't think the weight is the real issue. What's the truck? 13K? 14K? Throw 2K for the trailer. Not really all that overweight to be pulled by the PSD. My race trailer is 14K and I'm light compared to some of the 45-50ft trailers out there(and I pulled it with '96, 00 and 2000 F350's). Look at some of the 5'r campers these guys are pulling with single wheel 3/4 ton trucks. They did put the motor back over the axles(smarter move), as the truck would not support that kind of pin weight. My trailer was 3K on the pin and handled perfect. It ran up Fancy gap in 6th gear just feathering the throttle. Height? Ya, probably gunno get some power lines or maybe a brigde somewhere along the line. Rob brought his R model home on a similar trailer with his crusty Dodge.
  15. Great work. Glad it is working out for you. Thanks for the pics, everyone enjoys pics!!! Remember driving a cabover means you are the FIRST one to an accident LOL!!
  16. Keep the dirt handy for the next house owner. They will SURELY wanna fill that sumbitch back in LOL!!!!!
  17. Local potato chip company ran single tire duals on their boxes. No need for "heavy" suspension when you are hauling bags of AIR!!!
  18. Well, that explains the triplex. Wonder if it has a 237? Or is someone just guessing?
  19. My work has a '01 F150 with 5.4 and it has near 300K miles on it. Nothing done to it basically. Lots of different drivers and abuse and still runs fine. Couple coil packs is about all that has been replaced on motor. We bought it one year old, 16K miles on it. Couple friends have V10's and 100K miles and no real issues. The early ones had plug pop'n issues, but surely that is addressed by now.
  20. My buddy custom made a goose ball hitch for my truck originally. It's a very heavy plate, ball sunken in the middle, bolts down the side of frame where 5th was at. It's propped up beside the garage presently as I wanted to switch it back to 5th wheel as it is so much easier to hook/unhook. I don't have any pics handy. I've seen guys just put a beam across the back and put a ball on it. I have a diamond plate tale panel so it is all covered up and not able to do that.
  21. I remember the pumkin COEs having them tiny tires all around. Wondered what the real thought was? Keep the speed down? Or were tires cheaper?
  22. I wondering if that tag was not factory built? I know of another H like that with the same type set up. You adjusted the arm to one of the two spots to adjust the amount of weight that was put on the tag. Bet it was a real bugger in the snow since you couldn't dump it off easliy. I'm guessing a lowboy truck with the ramps going up to the fifth wheel plate area.
  23. Welcome aboard. Post plenty of pics..............other then of yourself. That O-D character tends to get creative with photoshopping.....LOL!!
  24. Triplex? Wonder if it started life with a 250 HP ENDT673C? Or is it not a 237 now? what's a 609 listed for motorwise?
