  1. Yup, when I had my new 2000 PSD, it would run circles around my B pulling the same trailer. I could run up Fancy Gap at 55+ mph, just feathering the throttle in 6th gear(OD). I'm pretty sure the ol B would be struggling at 35 mph LOL!
  2. How I did my race trailer. Two deep cycles to run the lights, radio and winch, plus it powers the control circuit of the frig. The frig I have 120v/gas, along with my hot water tank. That way I can run either way(depending if I have power or not). Little more money for both, but better for "camping" situation when you don't have shore power. You can use invertors to turn your 12v to 120v, but I would not suggest it. You have to control your usage and then run the generator to recharge the batteries(more then 1-2 or them to get good longevity). Get yourself a good, quiet generator, that way you can run it day/night. I got my older Onan RV unit for $500. You will need to get a fuel tank for it and make sure you have enough gas for long stays. If you want heat and a/c, get a roof mount unit and then you will need the genset to power it. You could also get a house unit and mount it in the wall, then use portable electric heater for heat if you need it. I put a long 30amp twist lok cord on the front of my trailer and plug it into the generator on the truck. I installed a remote start inside the trailer and run a separate smaller cord for that. That 30amp cord comes to a small circuit box in the trailer that everything comes to. The 12v stuff is all on a small car type fuse panel next to the batteries. If you are around sometime, stop at the house and look at my trailer.
  3. "It's just a truck".........................................(that is the common notion)
  4. Looks like someone just welded the original 4" stack upright into the 5" chrome duals set up. Wondered too about the single stick. No flipper for 10spd, didn't think about 237 repower. Definitely a spotter fifth wheel. Wonder why the whole bottom of the cab has "new" panel? They get rusty, but never seen one with that big of a repair panel.
  5. Apparently you haven't driven a B model lately LOL!!!! What I wouldn't do to have double my present HP rating. Truck look good though!!
  6. Welcome aboard. Very nice work!!
  7. Pictures from 50ft away ALWAYS makes things look good!! (ok, the muffler strap and drywall screws is a stretch, but mine is not pristine in any sense of the word) My fenders are super nice, but hood/cab/doors need replaced. I have another hood, I have NOS door shells, just need a cab.
  8. CRAP>......if mine ever looks that good LOL!!! You definitely have the benefit of having a nice, clean, rust free cab to start with. Mines held together with muffler straps and drywall screws LMAO!!! If I could find a nice cab to put my NOS door shells on. Man, I'd be a happy camper.
  9. Does it include corn??????? LoL......
  10. Yup that is my kinda truck too. Love then A models.
  11. Not bad looking for the money. Wonder about the motor. Looks kinda like my 673p as it does not have oil cooler either. Water neck is odd though.
  12. They learn by watching..................so you know what that means....................................LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Somethings "value" is what someone else will give you for it. Sometimes that a hard pill to swallow.
  14. Banned???
  15. I have a relay valve in my truck(only because the new rear frame section came with it), but I'm thinking you need new quick release valve(s). Can you hear an air "whoosh" at the axle when you push and release the brakes? If they are stuck, you have to wait for air pressure to work against itself to apply and then release the brakes. That may be also the air you feel when you release the trailer lines.
  16. Didn't make it either Jim, though I had thought of trying as we spoke on the phone. Besides being sick, I had other things going on and just couldn't spare the day. Glad you made the trip though. Truck is looking GOOD! Good to hear from you Greg. We were wondering where you dropped off to lately.
  17. Can't make it myself either(what else is new). Was just in Pittsburgh last weekend for my race. Oh well, hope it is a good one. Looks like lotsa rain for Ohio this weekend.
  18. Wow....the ladle is actually the funnel. Very cool find.
  19. He put 110K in the restoration? Wow..........why did that not include a 300 or 350 motor?
  20. Clearances too tight when they put it together??
  21. I always enjoy dirt moving shows. They kinda go hand in hand with antique truck people. To watch a skilled cable operator is awesome. Been few years back, down at Pataskala, Ohio show, the Buckeye Vintage Diggers were making noise and there was an elderly gentleman running a dragline. This fellow had a gimp arm and could hardly walk but he worked that crane like it was brain surgeon. Smooth, steady and pin point accuracy. I took some video tape, but need to get it over to digital format.
  22. Welcome to the jungle Dan!
  23. ..............cause once you find "chicks".........trucks will be the LAST thing you'll be thinking about.
  24. Looks like a pretty solid truck to start with. That is always a good thing.
