  1. One in the same: http://youtu.be/28N8arOPJkI
  2. At $1500, it's got that worth of parts. Title or not. Hope it all goes through for you.
  3. You can still buy the plates new. Had one of mine rot out and start to leak a few years ago. Local truck parts had them in stock.
  4. Lookin' REAL GOOD Dan!!!
  5. Man, they got ALOT of trucks. Don't look at rotted either, most seem like low miles too for their age.
  6. Was that wrecker auctioned at Auburn? Seems I remember it somewhere(or am I thinking of wrong truck?)
  7. Seems Yoder boxed the frames, but never protected the internal surface with anything. It would look fine and dandy, til one day it fell in half. DOH!
  8. I don't like paying insurance, but figured it might be worth it for this first smart phone. Didn't know what I was going to get into and just figured it was worth it. Now that I've made it this far without issue and plenty of them on Craigslist I won't get insurance again. This was a no deductible/co pay, replace it with new plan. What's another $100 in the whole game of life??
  9. I"ve had my Motorola Photon for 1.5 yrs now. Been pretty reliable for the most part. Still get dropped calls occasionally but not sure that is phone or service? Does more then I ever want it to do. I deleted a TON of crap off it after I bought it. Just not a social butterfly I guess. At least it now comes with a calculator? My old "I" series flip phones made you buy the app? My first one had it, then next two didn't> Guess they figured it was something they could make money on(what else is new?). Got friends with Verizon and ATT, we all have issues of some such. Ain't none of them perfect. I'd get a warranty for the first phone. Will save you tons of money if you crash/burn it. Mine was like $100(paid up front instead of over 2 yrs. Save like $30 doing it that way). Don't want to have to buy a $600 phone if something happens to it. They will fix or replace it.
  10. That there is in Mike's back yard(not Superdog).
  11. The funniest thing happened yesterday on the way home from work. I come up on this PT Cruiser.........with 8ft 2x4's stickin' out both side windows!!! Just like the picture above. I had to start to laugh and wanted to take a picture...........but I was on my bike(Kinda hard to ride and take pictures LOL). As I caught them at the light, I went into the right turn lane. The people in the car saw me coming and quickly reached out the window and pulled the lumber in some LMAO!! I rolled up past and just shook my head and laughed. Well, at least they were being cautious and courteous.
  12. Can't find the one picture I've seen with a new Tundra with a slide in camper and it's folded down in the middle. Next best shots I found: Have friend with a son that worked at Toyoder stealership, they had it down to 2 guys and about 1 day to get a new chassis under a Tundra. DOH!
  13. Yes, I wouldn't have balls to open the hood either, and stand next to a 844ci, 5000 rpm grenade!! Ain't happening. If I couldn't get it in gear, then I'd run out of options quickly. I don't want to die trying to save a truck. Yes, most later DD had an emergency air flap to shut them down. Remember back about 20 yrs, had a customer drop off at shop and couldn't get truck started again. Called a buddy and he told me about the soleniod for the flapper. I pulled it open manually and it started right up. Seems he lost power somewhere along the line.
  14. Buddy ran a load to Chicago and back with no clutch linkage. No biggie. I had to drive our F450 home(about 15 mi) few years back. Hyd clutch went out, driver called. Told him I'd be down and get it. Hopped in(push clutch to activate starter) and chucked in 1st and away we went. Got home and parked in shop without issue. They looked in awe in how I did that. Brains, man, Brains.
  15. Makes you wonder........they'll stand there and watch it destroy itself, but won't jam it in gear to stop it> OH..don't want to hurt the clutch/tranny> WTH?? seems a bit cheaper then burning the truck to the ground.
  16. Hope they dont get on a narrow street!!!
  17. Can't really say> Never really had them much as a kid. Only last few years have I kinda got a hanker'n for them. Grab about 6 and a tall glass of very cold milk and I'm a very happy guy!! I could eat the whole package at once, but I just put the package away before I start LOL!! I do think there is a slight difference in cookie make up? They do seem a bit crunchier/drier then before. I know the quality has dropped considerably. More broken cookies, more smashed cookies, etc. I"ve just watched the package get smaller and smaller over the last year. They are constantly on sale at local grocery store.
  18. Ken, try this: When needing to shift, ease off the fuel and start pushing on the shifter towards neutral. You'll feel it come out when the power is finally unloaded. Go with it, don't dilly dally or it might rake and grind things. No doubt with a cabover and all the monkey motion linkage it will take more finesse to get handy at it. Work on gettin it out of gear, that's half the battle. Once you get the "feel" of how the shifter works, you can work on the rest of it. I don't watch the tach, that's too much to deal with> It is all by sound/feel.
  19. With Mack boxes, you had to determine if it was a SINGLE overdrive or DOUBLE overdrive. That would determine if you had skip 5th Direct. It's kinda confusing, but you have to look at the ratio's to see the issue with reduntant ratio's and the reason you skipped gears. Have to look, I think Mack swaps the sticks around depending on which box. I think the Duplex has the compound on the far stick? The TRi and Quad are on the near stick.
  20. Pick up a jar of peanut butter. The bottom is sucked in 1/2 way up the jar, reducing the internal volume by TONS! Looks the same on the outside, but no where near the same volume. But, costs the same(or more). Ice cream is the same, no where near 1/2 gal cartons. Just noticed last week at the store, as I was getting my package of Double Stuff Oreos. I've noticed the size of the package dwindling over the last year(cookie count is way down per package). Now, they brought out the "family size", which is what you USED to buy to begin with. Of course the cost is about 40% more then the smaller package they have now. Like everything, you get less for more.
  21. I usually never clutch at all, unless I'm on a grade and need to unload it to get it out of gear easier and quicker then leaving off the throttle only. Beyond that, I just float in/out. I couldn't image having to use the clutch that much, day in/day out. My head hurts thinking about it. I've got strong legs, that is not an issue.
  22. I know the truck well. Spend a weekend with him and his wife last year at our big show in Ashland Ohio. I'm horrible with names, but very nice people and very nice truck. His wife even drove it in the slow truck race. He put on quite a show trying to get it back on the trailer on Sunday. Had a time getting it over the hump onto the drop dropdeck. Had to really get a run(going BACKWARDS) to get it to crest and not just slip the tires. Had me nervous!
  23. Yup, that's my grocery getter. Summit Racing started in a guys garage about 30 yrs ago. I remember the first catalogs back in the early 80's. They've grown, and grown, and grown. They dabble in about anything(recently they started into quad parts and accy's)
  24. Guess I'm lucky and am still pretty fit for my age. No dead giveaways that I might have issues. I know a few people with Cpap machines, and they seem to like them and agree they sleep alot better.
  25. I used to frequent his site til about a year ago. Just incredible what he makes out of steel. Throw in some artistic license, but overall it is really neat stuff.
