  1. If they are nothing "special", then maybe I'll look at getting some 1/4" ID rubber tubing/vacuum line and cut my own? As long as the diesel doesn't eat it up, should be fine. If my local guy doesn't have them, surely he is not going to order "a couple" in for me. Not worth the time/effort.
  2. Ron, I was kinda hesitant about them, after looking at how small they were. Likely not big enough to fill the void of the fitting. It did snug down okay and doesn't leak. Would be nice to get the correct ones(if available).
  3. Paint supplies have quadruple in cost anymore. All the EPA crap has made everything way out of sight! I needed a USB charger for cig lighter. I was at local Azone so I looked around. Found the display with that crap and found one. $13(ugh). I grab it, but continue to look around the display. Ahhh, found another version(different brand) for $9. Perfect, take first one and hang it back up. Walk to counter and low/behold another display with another 2 plug USB charger for $7(brand #3). WTH??? Take second one back and grab third one. Really? Same thing, but 1/2 price? Oh well, pays to not just buy the first one you find. Ken, actually Jeff(regular parts guy there at R/R) takes care of me. He usually remembers me when I started asking for B model parts. Most not get alot of those questions? LOL!!
  4. Congrats Vlad. Just got my passport about a week ago. My work has plans to send me to Mexico and possibly Malasiya!!! Used to get to Mexico with just birth certificate, but have revised it recently and you have to have passport now. Won't be making to Macungie again this year(maybe someday?). Hope you have a great trip and meet up with the guys. Yup, Tilted Kilt!!! We have one here in town. Nice place to eat LOL!!! The scenery ain't bad either! Strangely enough the handful of times I've been there, it was a 40-50's aged crowd of men there eating. Hmmm, not sure why?
  5. So I called R/R Mack in Akron. Tell them what I need, he says, "yup, should have some, how many do you need?"> I tell him two, and he puts them in will call. I stop over on way home and get them. Little plastic sandwich bag with two little round tapered seals. The guy drops it on the counters and waves me away(as he picks up a phone call). He was busy and didn't want to mess with charging me the .05/each ?? I thanked him graciously and walked out. I pulled the line apart again(still dry) and removed my brass ferrel and then poked the original rubber "seal" out of the brass nut. I then slipped the nut on the line and then the new o-ring. I tightened it down and started it up. Dry, perfect. The line is still kinda "loose" feeling, but no where like it was. I was expecting a bit larger seal, but if this works for now? What the hell, it didn't cost me anthing LOL!!! I threw the extra one in the sidebox of the bunk for a later date.
  6. That's crazy..............Very cool.
  7. Great news Mike!
  8. I think the front of an MH would likely scare the bejeebers outta traffic coming up from behind LOL!! Good idear........ Trailer looks super nice.
  9. Wow...even has the hot rod hood scoop!! Typical fire apparatus....Red and very, very clean.
  10. If he told you..........he'd have to kill ya. Duh! Welcome to the looney bin, funny farm, whatever ya wanna call it. Plenty of information around.
  11. I even went and bought me a nice 3/4" IR impact just for the stretch job on my B. Sure does come in handy!! Even hooked a nice 50ft 1/2" line to the compressor for that added "punch". Got it off Amazon for about $200 if I recall? Was not the bottom of the line, but couldn't afford the top LOL!
  12. O-rings not big enough to take up the needed space. These apparently looked like a "T" shape, and mine only has the top of the "T" left(or maybe just a straight piece like Ron mentioned?). The remaining portion that seals against the tube itself is long gone(thus the 1/4" tube is loose in the fitting and leaks). I'll check around tomorrow, I slipped a brass ferral on the end of the tube and snugged it down just barely(enough to keep it from working loose-but not so tight as to crush the ferral). It kept it from leaking for the trip to Milan, Michigan this weekend. But, I want to fix it properly. My guess is it needs to be a soft seal, as with the vibration I'm sure it would crack the line or fitting in short order.
  13. Got enough room for an Aux? That would get you all the gearing you want.
  14. Seems my buddy's 68 Dodge pickup had L/R studs on it. He's had it since the late 70's, I met him shortly after.
  15. Ok, after like 50 yrs, my return line to the pump has a leak. Seems the little rubber seal is about non existent. Was talking with peole yesterday and found out it is suppose to be like a compression seal originally. Mine only has a small rubber ring at the top, which is allowing the line to wiggle and leak. Been that way since I got the truck actually, but finally starting to leak. Is it going to be hard getting new seals for the line? Might call Cross truck Monday to see if they list them. Is there anyplace else that might carry that stuff readily? Would a dealer carry this?
  16. I'm guessing Updraft carburetor? Thus the fuel not getting up to cylinders. Have you tried Ether? Just a snort to see if it coughs at all. That would confirm you have spark. Suppose it has a Magneto also? Hows the timing? I'm not familiar at all with tinkering with this old stuff, but the same basic principles apply.
  17. If you are posting from a phone or Ipad, they tend to rotate pictures for some reason(lots of people having that issue too). Hopefully Ken don't see this or he might blow a gasket LOL!!!!!!
  18. You forgot the black smoke belching from the pipes!!!!
  19. I just slipped the carriage bolt through and put a nut on the other side. Easy to removed when needed. Yes, they aren't in contact under normal driving, mine never had a mark in them. They won't "rattle".
  20. Nice lil trailer! Like to find a longer version(my car is 20ft itself) and convert for my race trailer someday! More room for the lil missus and a shower/bathroom! Stainless would be really nice!!! LOL!!
  21. Ahh, I get it(thanks Ron). I thought you were speaking of the mounting pin, not the slipper pads and safety pins. My pins were bare when I bought the truck. Replaced them with bolts when I pulled it apart. Not correct, but ran that way for 10 yrs til I put the air ride on it. Here is fixing it after I broke a leaf a few years back. I used a carriage style bolt for the safety: Broken spring: I cut them down to 3 leaf and after 8 yrs the original leafs gave up one day. I had them put 3 new leafs on both sides. Lasted til I put the air ride on it couple years ago.
  22. I rebushed mine back when I bought the truck. It was just a brass bushing. Are talking like a typical car spring bushing, with rubber and steel sleeve?
  23. Doesn't sound like the same set up I had. Single axle? Might be a lighter suspension then mine?
  24. Take the line off the pump and stick in a gallon can of fuel and see if it continues to run off that. Then you will know if you have issues back to the tanks. Better to narrow things down so you can start in the right direction.
