  1. Friends last truck was an Eagle model. Always liked them.
  2. I've got a pair of NOS door shells, I think I'll just pack them away for another 10 yrs and see what they bring? Had them 11 yrs now.
  3. Glad I bought my shell from Barry about 10 yrs ago, when they were still "cheap"...........
  4. I'm on FB, not sure why, as I hardly ever even sign on, but if I get a real message on email. I don't think what I had for breakfast is important enough to share with EVERYONE? In the 3-4 yrs, I've made 2-3 posts myself. All else is something someone else linked a picture of me to. I'm thinking she should be showing a WIDE LOAD sign??
  5. Ya, most busses only had 8v's, so a 12v woulda really made that ol girl FLY!!! Some video to enjoy: http://youtu.be/oYcE5Xl6zmY
  6. I would say in the $5-6K range, depending on the condition of the cab.
  7. http://youtu.be/DXjx6h3aZco Francis Engineering: Address: 14233 Painesville Warren Road, Painesville, OH 44077 Phone:(440) 254-4046 Just down the road from my clutch guy.
  8. Yup, looking through googles images I found this:....note fly'n lady hood ornanament and the sargent stripes on the front of the fenders.
  9. Honey Boo Boo? Never seen it, heard about it. Don't have cable, so never will see it.
  10. "I picked a bad day to stop smoking" Sorry to hear about all this. Keep your head up, as Mike said, he only gives you what you can handle. It only makes you stronger.
  11. As long as no one sees you do it(like EPA or DOT). Just like was mentioned, they get real pissy about diesel being poured all over the ground(ie: mixed in with dirt/gravel/asphalt, etc)
  12. (4) So as to prevent the registration plate from swinging." Doh, I have my front plate on a hinge(like all the cool trucks used to). But I'm an Outlaw...............LOL! I put 33K plates on my truck originally(knew I would be over 26,001#), and it was like $375/yr? Way more then I wanted to spend. $50 got me historical. DMV was not too happy to do it, but I told them all my buddies have theirs. They reluctantly agreed, but told me "I better not be running commercial with it". Well duh. The one time I got questioned at the scale house, I was given the a-okay and sent on my way. NO log book asked for, only registration, insurance, and I showed my CDL just make sure they knew I knew I was okay. Now I avoid scalehouses if at all possible. Tim, as for getting a CDL, I took no classes. I got my booklet, then went in to take test for temporaries. I took all endorsements, even though didn't study for Hazmat and triples. Only missed those by ONE question each(had to get 16 of 20, I got 15). I then called test station(we have one that will rent you a truck/trailer) and took my test. Viola'. If you have any kind of experience driving, it's not that hard. I've drug a 40ft trailer around since 1997, so it was not hard.
  13. He's getting all the trips in now, as when he has to put plates and insurance on it................it will be too expensive to drive LOL!!!
  14. I remember most 70's fleet trucks coming with that cut off bumper. Guessing it kept from tearing up tires if they banged into something?
  15. will also make things sliiiiiiiiide on out.
  16. Vlad, you spray the interior of the bed to keep material from freezing to bedsides while in transport. Makes things slide out when you dump.
  17. Well, it's been near 6-7 yrs since I've seen him or the truck. Owner was Terry Green, owner of Green Truck lines of Malvern, Ohio. He has retired and I think sold off the company. The truck was very nicely done, red/black, called it Mongo.
  18. Local guy has a gasser B(not sure what model/engine), he pulls a set of lil double flats. Very, very nice truck. He is very limited on road speed and it's VERY thirsty.
  19. Yup, seen a R model conversion before. Just wondered if the steering box was mounted the same, as it looks like the angle is different, thus they needed the bend to adjust for it?
  20. Ya, back in the day, BCR converts your B into an R model. The only issue I see with someone putting a B onto an R chassis is the fact the front axle is too wide and the tires stick out. Livable, seen a few like that. Just not my cup of tea. The ones I've seen have jacked the cab up a few inches to clear stuff.
  21. Mack looks like a Peterbuilt? Huh?? Say what????? Brings me to mind of Happy Gilmore, with that guy trying to kill Happy. Always yelling "Jackass!!"
  22. Ok, question of the day. The steering column in the B753, it has the unique column(I suppose for a concave cab) even though it has std cab. What would it take to convert one? I have a column like that, wondered if I could cut/weld the shaft and retrofit it into my truck? Make some more room. Or, is it the fact the cab is forward and this moves the column up.
  23. Without a limited slip rearend, I always kinda rode the brakes lightly to try to force the power to the wheel with traction. Gets you going sometimes. No doubt, someone was looking over your shoulder when the cop drove away without looking at anything. Sometimes you're the dog, sometimes your the hydrant.
  24. I wonder if that came from that old Junkyard Wars show??? Lets see, we have a frame, cab, motor and some scrap steel and we need to build a truck LOL!!
