  1. Ben, there are B model cabs available for scale builders. Check out Ebay. Back about 4 yrs ago, I frequented a scale truck builders forum(R/C stuff) and there is a guy in NJ that builds all kinds of unique stuff. He scratch built a B and R model cabs. Never saw them in person, they looked very well done. Maybe not "perfect", but nice. Here's a link to one of the posts: http://www.mwmodeltrucking.com/forum/search.php?keywords=mack&terms=all&author=*joe*&sc=1&sf=all&sr=posts&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search here's a website someone sent me: Rubber duck model: http://www93.sakura.ne.jp/~time-tunnel/mack-13.html Terry, I have a full size version of that ol bumpside Ford truck: Not quite the full blown "race" version you did, but close as I'll get it. I made a nice Autocad drawing of it many, many years ago and not sure if I still have the file. I think I kept a printed version at home. Nothing quite like yours, but just simple 2d version. I had dreams 20+ yrs ago of taking my '66 Cub cadet and putting a Ford 302/automatic in it. Tough old tractors with nice frames for that kind of work. Nice work!
  2. Good ideas. I've seen those fire demonstrations before. The rooms will get involved very quickly. I keep plenty of extinguishers around garage and in vehicles. You NEVER know when it will come in handy. About 10 odd years back I was at race track, working around my pit area. I noticed a commotion about 40-50 yds away, seems a car caught fire from a leaking line(I think it was transmission fluid), as it was dripping down from underneath. There was plenty of people all moving around quickly trying to put it out. I quickly realized that NO ONE had an extinguisher so I quickly ran to my truck and grabbed mine and ran down there. The hood was opened so I gave it a quick shot up top then down underneath to smother it. It went out easy enough and that is when one lady I know had found theirs and was trying to figure out how to pull the pin to make it work. Little too late. Lucky I was there, or that car would have been a fireball in short order. He had a mess to clean up from the powder, but he did still have a car to clean up at all. Had another car "sneeze" on the starting line and stall. I notice smoke from the large hood scoop. I quickly pulled my racing coat off and ran up and stuck it in to cover the carb and put out the fire. A backfire isn't all too uncommon, usually a quick hit of the starter will pull the flames in the motor and extinguish it. Sometimes not.

  6. Wow, don't remember that one. Musta been asleep at the wheel when that got posted? I see Steve was last on back in Sept 2011.
  7. Terry, I think you need to drop that stuff off to my house so I can test fit them in my truck. I'd hate to have you bolt them on to find out they don't look right LMAO!!!! Damn, that stuff looks SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (too bad my rusty ol truck ain't worth all that shiny stuff)
  8. You got it backwards.....Rob seems to have NO issues at all taking off in a truck with NO fuel in it LOL!!! If he knocks it and sounds full............he'll keep looking til he finds a truck with an empty tank.
  9. Makes you wonder what happened with Steve. Haven't heard much about him in years now.
  10. At least he's honest with the description: 78 mack dump truck for parts not in good shape motor rebuilt 50000 miles ago runs good drives good cab rotted interior crap will seperate. Can't fault him for that.
  11. Hmm, guess that woulda been the simple thing? Just call him. Sometimes I'm not too quick LOL!!
  12. That's a dreadful picture. Sorry to see that, and I hope your insurance takes care of you.
  13. Did he go out west for a truck rescue???
  14. Bwahhahahahahahahhaaaaaa!!! That's perfect!!!!
  15. Post card material right there! Just need you to dress up in your sunday best, with a drivers cap and lean on the fender for that perfect 50's shot.
  16. Dan, simply amazing trucks. I'm GREEN with envy! Still dig out my Lindsey videos to watch you and your trucks.
  17. That trailer looks ROUGH!! Yup, unless they are clean and roadable now...they are a money pit to make them such. Might start down the road and find you've got a flatbed soon after since the body falls off!!! I had to do a double take on the B61, thinking it was actually a B67 concave cab. That is until I realized it was just crunched that way, not made that way LOL!!!
  18. Still has 5 hole budds up front? That is priced RIGHT!
  19. Welcome aboard. Next he'll say is it has a V8 in it!!! Don't let Rob know where it's parked, when he goes to Nevada he might sneak up and drag it home too??? He is trying to corner the market on 700's! Oh, yes, pictures. We love pictures.
  20. Oh, no biggie. Didn't think I came across so rough, til I just read it again. NO harm, no foul. Guess I shoulda put one of after it.
  21. It's bright, but almost not obnoxious. Kinda cool in it's own way.
  22. Morgan, I got really, really lucky with my 673 a few years ago when I popped a stud in the back left. I drove it 140 miles home, just started to burp antifreeze on the windsheild when I got home. I was able to unscrew stud and install new one and torque it down. Been two years and still okay. Heard plenty of stories of this stuff happening and guys fixing on the side of the road and no problem. In this instance, I'd almost go ahead and put a gasket on it. Like mentioned, it's A LOT easier while sitting on the ground in front of you then IN a truck.
  23. Reread my post. I said they are miserly (like "don't use much"), not miserable. My 2000 CC DRW PSD only got 15+ on the highway, but it had 4.10 gears. If you can keep them UNDER 2000 rpm they are great on fuel. I ran it up to Michigan one weekend. On the way up I ran 75-80 mph and it got 12 mpg. On the way home I kept it at 65 mph and it got 15-16 mpg. Very noticable difference. "Most" dodges only had 3.54 gears out back, so they really idled on the highway. Fords don't get geared that way. Back in 2001 I went to Florida. There were 4 of us(2 Ford, 2 dodges). Buddys Dodge had 3.54 gears and it might have done a bit better on fuel(be both had big trailers), but mine would pull Fancy Gap in 6th gear(OD) and hold 55 mph without issue. Buddy was lagging behind badly and I had to wait for him at the top. Both trucks were basically stock(no chips/exhaust). I know he did a LOT of downshifting since it was geared so long. Not what I would call a proper set up. Maybe for daily driving, but not pulling.
  24. Well, Bob, every year Larry get ANOTHER one restored and takes it out to play in the dirt. Nothing is sacred. Notice the old Ford T dump getting all banged up? Throw in a few draglines too:
