  1. Barry, that looks like a really nice start! Extra cab too. We'll be keeping an eye on the progress!
  2. Friday was a good day. I hooked up to my buddy's utility trailer and made a trip to pick up my parts. Got home and used the bobcat to roll it back off and put it off to the side of the garage for future work. I want to do some clean up work, ie: sandblasting, to make it ready for some POR 15. Will need new bags, shocks and other assorted hard parts. The panhard bar looks a bit worn so likely replace it. The torque rod looks good still. The fellow is looking into finding budd hubs for the front of my B. I gave him all my bearing specs and spindle information I got years ago when I did the king pins. If he can find something, even if I have to do some custom machine work I'll leave the budds on the back. If the front falls through then I'll be picking up spokes for the rear. I also have to swap carriers as it's geared fast(3.70) and he has a set of 4.30's waiting. I did find out one thing this afternoon after poking around. I WILL be able to slip the new frame OVER my existing frame. Using more accurate tape I found the inner dimension is the same as my outer. Yahoo!! I'll have about 70" of overlap as I'll be able to butt my frame up to the front suspenion crossmember. This makes me very happy.
  3. Fire that PUPPY up and let's hear it!!!!
  4. Surprisingly my State Farm agent just told me I could put hist. insurance coverage on my B model. They took pics and wrote it up. It really dropped my cost as it was about $50/mo for regular insurance. Now it's like $100/year(can't recall, haven't gotten new bill yet). Bad news, my agent had heart attack and I haven't been able to get alot of information since I switched it. I should be getting policy in the mail right quick.
  5. The convertible top musta slowed that thing down. Close friend had a '75? Rabbit for work car back in mid/late 80's. That thing ran like a raped ape and got great mileage. Always was kinda partial to that car, and wished they were still around to have one. That gantry must be quite the set up. Sure didn't look THAT big when he was at my house with it on the trailer LOL!!
  6. Lots of places to start: Fuel in carb? No? Fuel pump or fuel lines? Did it stumble and quit or just stop sudden? Electrical? 12v to coil? Coil bad? Wiring? Points? Does it try to start with fuel dumped in carb? Or Ether? Then likely fuel related. If not, then electrical.
  7. LOL!!!! Ya, welcome to my world LOL!!! Ya'll wanna trade for a weekend?? Come on....you'll love it Lucky my g/f isn't a talker and there is nothing on the radio as neither are possible to hear on the highway! Jim, it looks AWESOME and I'm freak'n jealous as HECK!! Compared to my rusty, faded rig: You'll get used to that too. The main reason why I won't upgrade to something else(beyond the fact nothing else fits in the garage). Couple weeks to go til Thompson!!! I just had to tell the g/f that I have to cancel my reservation to her nephews wedding on June 5th(DOH!!) Priorities!!
  8. Yup, Dan's the man. Sounds like it's running PERFECT.......................LMAO!!!!!! I'm sure more then one of us can help you get it fixed up. I'm no DD expert, but everyone talks about the drain tubes and if it gets plugged will pump oil big time and smoke. Something to start with.
  9. Here is the reply I got: I think I have a 8.2 injector around here to verify that although they have a control rack and look somewhat like but smaller than a 2 stroke injector, they don't have the fuel jumper lines between the head and injector . So they have O rings on the body like the Cummins used [from the 250 on up ] . With the failure of the upper O ring the fuel would come up over the top and dilute the oil .
  10. Dang good to hear you made it through the rains. It was horrible to watch the Weather channel and see the water and how bad things were. Saw a link from another site showing Beech Bend raceway in BG, Kentucky and the scoreboards were just above the water!! It was like 16ft deep!!!!
  11. Littlerig, I'll send an email off to my buddy Dan and see what he thinks.
  12. I took the 20" split rims off my B and put tubeless 22.5's on it. Simple job.
  13. This is a dump truck that needs a complete restoration Really? . It is a rare find Compared to what??? and a canditate because all the engine, tranmission, and drives are intact Where?. It has a Fuller 13 speed transmission. Was parked several years because of a leaking headcasket. The cab is intact about the only thing "intact" and doors open and close properly. The instruments are there. Seats need upholstery. This truck has not been robbed of parts That's funny, sure looks like ALOT of things were robbed from this truck. Dump was working when parked surely making it worth ALOT more money?. Buyer must pay to load and transporation. Duh Very sad indeed.
  14. My truck has the "P" motor(non turbo, but split intake manifold) but had the short cap on it. I also liked the tall pipe and ordered the chrome extension for it. When I bought the truck, the cap had a large dent in the side where the wing window had hit it over the years when opening the door.
  15. Amber???? I want to get one for the B as mine is much too modern looking.
  16. Note to self......................mine is an "FDC" model in my truck.
  17. Wish I knew someone when I was that young that would have let me play with equipment like that!! There was a video on Youtube that showed some like 8yr old running a guys mini excavator and was better then most guys I've seen. Unreal. Better then playing with an Xbox!!!
  18. My CB hangs in that open space, so no room for a console there. Been contemplating building a console between the two seats though. Enough room for a/c unit, cup holders and the like. Just level between the seats, so that I could lay down across it if need be. I've slept across the seats a couple times, but back when it still had bench seat in it. Those "covered" switches are for "safety", as you can't accidentally move them until you flip the cover up. That's a good looking B model, and time will tell what it goes for at the ATHS auction next month!
  19. Ya, but he passed before he could finish the sentence "..........Just don't get caught"
  20. Ok, now maybe we'll get to the bottom of this.........
  21. This reminds me of about 7 yrs ago I went to southern Ohio to a weekend camping thing with local internet diesel club. I missed my turn, had to "recalculate" and check the map. Found a route that didn't look bad so I took it. DOH!! It was back road heaven with constant switchbacks and 6-7% grades. I was making up gear ratios as I went LOL!! I only have a 40ft trailer, but it was bad enough I was using all the road I could find. Had a local sheriff follow me for a short while til he found a place to get around me. I just smiled and waved LOL! Sure was glad to finally get back to the main road.
  22. Hmmm, don't look bad from wayyyy over here.
  23. Jim, I can't wait to see that in person!!! Come on June..............LOL (that's the Gasser Reunion, right?)
  24. Here ya go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18BcE8SF7-o
  25. The thing is all the lines have to be hooked up(correctly), as if not it won't work. I've never seen the actual line schematic to know what line does what. Would love to know. Yes, one is main source to wiper motor, maybe the other two are the "park" function? Re-thinking, there are 4 lines at the control and 3 at the motor? Maybe I'll send an email off to Art and see if he can shed some light on it.
