  1. Ain't that the truth!!
  2. You AIN'T right......................
  3. Just a couple weeks ago I rode along with a couple friend to go look at a car. It was about an hour away, but he took his Garmin to make it easier to find the address. Well................after it led us on a crazy back road goosechase we finally ended up at the residence. We were 4 minutes north of the interstate, but it took us 20 minutes through zig zags on the back country roads to get there. When we left, we simple drove 4 minutes south and got back on the interstate to get home. We still marveled at all the roads it put us on to get there. It defaults "shortest route", but this was ridiculous. If I'm traveling, I'll google a map, get basic directions to where I'm going, then look closely at where it sends me and adjust for my convienence.

I started with a small 20 gal 4hp Sears unit and then got a deal on a BIG 60 gal 6hp single stage. I got it and thought I'd be in better shape. WRONG, see since it's only a single stage it takes FOREVER to refill that 60 gal tank. Was better off with small unit, it recovered quicker. Like to find a two stage pump to install on my tank, but for the money it's probably cheaper to get the whole thing.
  5. Why I don't care for them things........LOL!! They've been upgrading Rt. 30 through Ohio and with new 4 lane being added over the last few years the old GPS will constantly show you driving through a field say "recalculating". I've made it this far without one, will likely continue without one.
  6. Yup, seen that one many a time while running across to Quakercity raceway. Been wanting to stop and poke around, but usually in my truck/trailer so don't want to get hung up with parking. It hasn't moved in quite a few years that I know. Looks pretty decent shape from the road.
  7. Sounds like it could be a nice deal, depending on overall condition. How many miles? overhauled? bunk? air ride? corrosion of frame? Like Paul says, the worst thing is the "sitting around" part. will it be covered or outside?
  8. Well Glenn, hope things go "easier" for your lil girl. .......oh, next time.........put on some pants before you stretch out on the couch for pics

Not to my liking either. Seen a few mini's and much better jobs doing it. They are small enough that you can't really "shrink" it much!
  10. Can you see if it's just a valve cover or worse(head gasket)? I assume you haven't started it to see if it "leaks" while running. From your description("where the top of the engine can be removed"), does that mean the head gasket area(between block and head)?
  11. DOH!!! Wonder if you can turn off the "reply" while looking at the email notification? I've almost done that myself, but then will click link or just log in and answer it. Didn't know you got a copy from email reply's. Why does the programming do that?

Dang.........took the words right outta my mouth.......... Nice gift, for sure. Now you can buy tools for it to run!!!!
  13. Uh oh..............wait til Daddy finds out LOL!!!! BTW, that is a good looking truck. Kinda partial to that shade of blue.
  14. Looks great! "GOT SMOKE?"
  15. Friend had the car/pickup hand jack version of that jack growing up. Of course that was back when cars had real bumpers on them. We used that jack til the paint was wore off it! Changing tires on his 7" lifted Suburban was much easier with that jack. 38" tires on it to boot! We used to call it the "schoolbus" cause it was so freak'n tall/long.
  16. I came from varied upbringings, so I only turned FOMOCO after I bought my own first truck(1970 F100). It was all downhill after that. I loved big 60's cars(any model), but since I turned blue blooded, I went with Galaxies. They all have their good/bad points, but with proper care I've never had any issues with any of my vehicles. I've only purchased 3 new Fords('96 F350, 99 V10 F350, '00 PSD F350), and all were great vehicles and wished I could have kept them all.
  17. Well, always wanted a Harley(just because), but never able to afford it so I got the next best think: A HardlyADavidson: 2000 Honda 1100 Shadow. I've since put Hard Krom Shotgun pipes on it to liven it up some. Don't quite sound as good as my buddys HD, but sure is loud enough. Do want to tone it down a touch. Note quite ready for a big dresser, but want something big and comfortable enough to ride. We don't go too far right now on the "sunday ride", but we all enjoy the breeze in our faces.
  18. Yup, should be cable connected, but I agree, if they "forgot" to latch the locks, it could fail and drop. I've used that type of lift and always set it back on safety catches.
  19. Only thing it hauls is "azz" LOL!! There is a fuel cell and small roll cage in the bed so it renders it completely useless. Go for a ride......... At the race track in 1992......
  20. Glad no one was hurt Rob. Kinda sounding like Michelle on the ATHS board. One lil "oops" and it brings everything back into perspective. I was anticipating the results as you were starting your story(as I could tell from the set up that it was going to fall). I remember pics of the cut off frame and I know it would have to be pretty tipsy if you jacked the nose up. That camaro took a wrong turn, but look at the lift arms. Why is the drivers side "out" under where the car would be and the others retracted like they were not used. I wonder if the rack lifted and shouldn't have? Or were they lifting one side to just get under the car? Sad though. Definitely an "ah shit" kinda day.
  21. Nifty ol trailer for sure. I always keep my eyes open for something like that for my truck(like I really need it). Even a s/a flat or drop deck would be cool. Speaking of hard to steer, my '69 F100 has full spool/35 spline Moser axles, 29x12 M/T tires so the little 3 1/2" front runners give little indication of turning LOL!! It has UNDERSTEER really bad, especially on highway on/off ramps. You really have to work that wheel hard to get it to go around without ending up in the ditch. Been that way for 20 yrs now and likely never get changed. Sure is fun to drive though. When I bought in spring '88 ALL stock! Couple years ago 428CJ motor/4 spd
  22. Ok, got ambitious this morning(before the turkey get set on the table) and ran up to work and machined the tailhousing: Now I need to make a new gasket and mock it up to set the depth for the sending unit: Going to try to see if I can get it ready for reassembly this weekend. Got other stuff going on, so time will tell. At least it's all sitting there ready to go.
  23. Happy Turkey days guys! I've ALWAYS been a BIG fan of plump, tender breast meat.
