  1. Definitely better looking then them Nav noses! Wonder if it has an E9 500 in it? LOL!!
  2. Just happen to be looking at "Gasser" magazine over the weekend at buddy's machine shop. Had a couple good shots of your car in it. Unfortunately they don't list names or information for any of the pictures. Very good action shots though.
  3. Paul has it pretty much covered. Besides finding a late model axle, if you could find a budd hub to fit your current spindle? I wouldn't bolt a turbo to that 673, as with many discussions we've had about lack of oil cooled pistons, if you try to stoke it up any, you'll ruin a perfect running motor. That's the main reason I've passed on doing it to my B model. Finding a 237 or such would be far better. One note, a set of radial tires up front will aid tremedously to reducing the steering effort. Still not quite like power steering, but a major improvement over bias ply. I was very happy when I changed mine over to radials all around.
  4. Hey, if you happen to be traveling up Rt77 around Akron Canton Airport, let me know. You're only a mile from the house.
  5. LOVE the visor. I've had visions of something similiar to that also. It comes to mind the version they have in Austrailia and I think Barry was trying to work on getting some over here. Been some time and not sure it will happen. The Lund version is just too late model and takes away from the roundness of a B model(in my eyes). I figure some thick cardboard and sissors and lots of mock up I could come up with something close. Polished stainless would be the catseyes, but be very difficult to get curved properly. If you go back to the pics of the B I posted earlier showing a similar bed, he had drag pipes on it. I'm kinda a tall pipes kinda guy, though if you have a white trailer............beware. It will be soot city. Maybe not as bad as the old Mack motor(mine really spits moisture/oil) but with a black trailer it's livable. Make sure the top of the pipes clear the top of trailer some to help keep it above the wind pattern hitting front of trailer. Mine used to be about 11" taller, but had to crop them to fit truck into garage. It definitely makes more mess on the trailer then before.
  6. Nice job.............. I could see his lips moving..........but I couldn't hear a thing...............
  7. ......and remember when it's cold out.................you can ADD SMOKE too......... Back a few years, I took the B to the a big car show at the lake. I parked it on a slight hill all day. It started, then promptly quit just as I got the brakes released and rolled back to even kilter. Seems all the fuel ran to the pass. tank . It took about a 1/2 hr for it to slowlyyyyy drain back over to the drivers tank so I could pump the primer and get it running again . Note to self.........don't park on side of hills(and not shut off transfer line valve).
  8. Neat video. A bit more exciting then the "slow truck races"!
  9. Glad to hear you're doing well David. Sounds like the new job is fun(except the Pete driving part LOL!) Do you take a pillow with you so you can see over the steering wheel? I've heard those Pete seats are kinda low?
  10. Mine gets pretty dark right after the change and stays that way. Guess it's a 50 yr old diesel engine? Whadda expect? It pulls 50+ psi all day running down the road, so I think it's in decent shape.
  11. Strange how the most "un-hi tech" tool does the best job!
  12. This cold has given you wayyyy too much time on your hands Rob. I've gone the route and now just started the congestion/cough routine after last weeks rough start.
  13. Glad to hear you're making it through Greg. One step atta time.
  14. That's in KPH Rob..............so actually it's just starting to catch up with the rest of the world.............
  15. I run Rotella in mine. 7 yrs without issues. Mine was surprising clean inside too? About this filter issue. I know mine has the two large lines, one small. Can't recall what filter # I run, but am curious if there is different ones for same housing? This always peaks my interest, as I never remember what I have. I only put 5-7Kmiles a year on oil change so I don't get it very dirty anyhow.
  16. I took an old door hinge cover plate to my local paint mixer. He scanned it and mixed it up. I painted my heaterbox and it matches up pretty nice with all the surrounding paint(not that any of it's that purdy), but at least it matches in shade to not be a sore thumb.
  17. Interesting set up. Looks like it will work. Hmmm, but do you really want your passenger to work the brakes? LOL!!!!!!!!
  18. Now that's breathtaking................. After looking at snow for the last few months.....................that's NICE!
  19. NOT the B model LOL! I was almost thinking to use it, but circumstances made it impossible. You can't drive the truck home after the test. Didn't have someone who could! Anyhooo, I rented the truck down at Gnaddenhutten test station for $150? for the test. Little DT466 single axle Binder with 40ft flatbed. It had synchro'd 5 spd which makes it wayyy easy to drive. They also have a dump with tag trailer if that is your fancy. What changes? on the test? Or just the med card?
  20. I dreaded taking my test. Just take it slow and easy. If you looked rushed and confused that won't look good. Have someone walk around the truck with you as you do a mock pretrip(they'll have the book). Remember to TOUCH what you are talking about. TOUCH, TOUCH, TOUCH!!!! The incab part I kept forgetting to "DO" what I was describing(that's a failure in their eyes). Work the wipers(don't just point to them), turn on the defroster(don't just point to it). My tester was giving me "hints"(cough, cough) as she knew I knew what to do, just wasn't doing it fully. Don't worry about a couple gear scratches, as they'll give you some leeway(likely).
  21. Well, late as usual................. Happy Birthday Rob. Been busy all weekend and not online to see this. Hope it was a good one. Did momma treat ya right?
  22. Nice work so far! Really like the overal look of that bed. The tail lights look great! Very custom, but looks period correct too. Can't wait to see it done(bet you can't either).
  23. ..........cough............cough...........hack.....ugh......cough........... There, I feel better now Looks like my garage when I fire mine up. Soon as I open the front door, it bellows out like a coal fire!! The small exhaust fan on opposite end of my garage makes a small dent in the smoke issue.
  24. I remember the truck, though never saw it on the streets.
  25. That is the exact set up on a KW I was looking at. Never got to drive the truck, so can't compare, but it also had 4 spring under it. Not sure of the mileage on the unit, but the crossmember was severely cracked and needed attention if it was to be used to haul again. For the "toy" I was going to use it for, I was going to patch it up and re-use it. I would bet that it would be helpful under loaded condition but not sure how "soft" it would be bobtail?
