I bolted jakes on my 237, no problems. I'm trying to recall it used longer head studs in certain locations? Heck, been 5? yrs so I can't recall. But if you are swapping between engines, then you should have everything to do it and have two running engines.

Yes, the early valve stem was larger and took a different disc. My 237 was like that. That disc is NLA. The later, smaller stem is available.

Should bolt on. You can still get full kits for them....just real pricey. I went through mine when I bought them used(old and unknown condition). Bought everything through local Mack dealer.

Should be the same as any other B tanks as far as I know. They have drawings they will send you to sign off before they build them. I tell this story every time someone looks for tanks. I had Alumitank build my (2) 40 gal tanks to match exactly the stock tank. Their version the step is too high. Ask for the 40 gal tank they made for "General Plastex"(co. I work for). That is the more correct version. Then have them duplicate it for the longer 50 gal tank.

I have three sticks now. It is a spicer 4 spd aux with deep under. I run it in direct 99% of the time. The OD is for really stretching my legs on the highway. The deep under is for tight manuevering. I don't try moving three sticks. The split in the spicer is the same as my triplex compound. Up in one and down in the other just keeps you in the same gear. Here is a video I made a couple years ago and I do use OD in the spicer once. Sorry it's a bit dark i needed to get a better angle next time.

I got home last summer to see my box mangled up and the post swung around at a 45* angle to the road. I was like WTF??? I was pissed. The school busses drive thru my yard to cut the corner so I figured as such. I get around to the back of the house and find a new mailbox sitting by the door and a note from the mailman apologizing for doing it. Seems he forgot to close the door before pulling away and it spun the pole around. I tried manually turning that pipe. Nope. I had to get the Mack out and put a chain on it to swivel it back straight. Then a new board to attach the new box. Looks like it never got hit. Still waiting to put some 2x4s in the yard with 16 penny spikes to flatten the tires on those damn school busses. The grass grows back all summer, then it's all tore up for the rest of school time. MFrs. I put some metal fence stakes up around the corner and the next day they were bent into the ground by the first bus.

Very similar to my Bentz bunk. If I recall the latches were similar to AMC cars. Might look there for something?

Mine had 4.62 also, now 4.11. I did the gears before the 237 install or I would have stayed with the 3.70s that were in the air ride rear when I bought it. Single od triplex, 4.10, 11r22, runs 65 at around 1800.

They had Cummins laid on their sides.

Would be cool to put in my B model. The old 237 would never hurt it. But distance and cost to "fix" would likely make it a moot point. I'd love to learn how to tear into one.

I took a quick trip in Kens MH a couple years back while at Gerharts show. Short, spring ride single axle wasn't hateful at all. Much nicer then my B model!!

I'd go by 673C on front cover. Valve covers are easy to swap. Someone could have put oil filter and cooler on from a 237? I put spin on filters on my 673 NA motor. Bolts right on.

Neat piece for sure. I saw it come up on facebook a few days back. Value is a hard thing to place on a vehicle. A lot depends on your location and who happens to want it. Just saw a post on FB about a full frame off B61 sold for $15k(A steal).

Sad, but try to find something as reliable and nice as that in todays market. Something new would be double that and nothing but computer headaches.

Sounds awesome! I put turnouts on my truck because I got really tired of the slobbery drool out of the pipes on start up. With the wind from the back it would drizzle down the doors or windshield! Ugh. I love old motors but are they messy!

I had local supplier scan my glovebox door 20 yrs ago. I painted my heater and it matched well. Seems it came back as a Volvo code at the time. That little pint can is long gone now. I agree, I think there were plenty of shade variations back then and many people think theirs is the right one.

My balancer was missing on 237, but I think it is too long and will hit crossmember. The R model has much more room behind the radiator and the pulleys stick out farther. Thus the waterpump needs changed also.

I put a 237 in mine also. Simple swap from the 673. Just changed waterpump and balancer. I still run a triplex. I have the big radiator and does fine with my 30k lbs.
