  1. Hmmm, I don't see a winch....................LOL!!!!!
  2. I had to fix the hand pump on my 237 before getting it running the first time after buying it. There is basically two ceramic discs with springs behind them that act like one way valves. Mine were dried up and stuck. Once I lubed them the hand pump works flawless. I'm not sure "IF" they have any affect on running? Never found out. Just have to unscrew the two plugs and see what you find. I wonder if the return side was stuck open, would that allow fuel to drain off after shutting it off? I know with the truck running, if you leave the hand pump loose it will pump up/down while the engine is running. I've never ran it long like that so can't say if it detrimental to fuel pressure/power?
  3. Welcome to the forums. Another Larry can't be all bad? It's been forever, but I wonder if you have to have a few posts under your belt before the site allows you to download a picture to your post? Don't know for sure. I'm sure Swishy will help you out.
  4. The old ribbed, square shouldered bias ply is just has a "timeless" look to it. Something a more modern radial just doesn't have. For many it doesn't matter, for others an old truck just doesn't look right with radials on it.
  5. How may gallons to color it all?? Just curious.
  6. Yup, checked the other night. Seems some kind of "update" issue caused the shutdown.
  7. The white/black fender was the color scheme of the towing company I bought it from. Every truck they had, big or small was the same. They had a fleet of B's at one time and this was the remaining working truck. I keep in touch with the owner occasionally(he retired and sold out) and have asked for pictures from way back. If you look closely at the fender it says "B 61 Squadron". After I painted the fenders, I've wanted to get that painted back on. Someday.
  8. Wow...that is near a twin to what my truck was 20 yrs ago before I starting upgrading it:
  9. They had two good qualities.....they are black AND round. What else do you need??
  10. Detroit's are real fussy about stuck racks or goveners!
  11. I could use a few better bases. Mine are rotted and one doesn't have anything to hold the screw for the cover. I've had it siliconed on for nearly 2 decades now! Mine look like Matts, not the newer reverse flipped edge.
  12. So it's one of those....."I know what I have, don't low ball me!". Lol!
  13. Politics and the internet can be a cruel thing. I've learned to keep my mouth shut because it doesn't really matter.
  14. Hmmm, wonder if this all went back to that political mayhem just a while ago? Have noticed it is pretty quite around here lately. I don't have all that much to add unfortunately. No projects or excitement in my life.
  15. Never had kids driving buses when I was in school, but remember the old stick shift buses and this one small hill that a new driver couldn't get the bus started on. Oh, the fun days. 345 CI was it. They made 304, 345, 392's for most applications(at least for light/med duty). My '72 1210 pickup had a 345/4 spd in it. Ex township road dept truck. Beat to pieces, got it at auction for $150 but was my first truck so I thought it was cool. I have a couple pictures of me working on it(did that a LOT). It would pass everything but a gas station. I think just starting it took 1/8 tank of fuel!!! Good friend in school had a few Internationals, his last was a '72 1210 4wd stepside, 392/4bbl, 4 spd. His dad had a few Travelalls growing up.
  16. Dog gone..... that's a LOT of truck!
  17. That was the year I made it too Alex. Hope to meet up again sometime.
  18. Clean rims/tires always makes a vehicle look clean. Nothing worse then brown ugly tires on a clean vehicle. I do get the horse and buggy deal! The thinner oil makes the shafts spin easier, thus shift timing gets screwed up. I started running synth in my race car and it takes much longer for the shafts to stop when trying to put it in gear after starting the engine with the clutch out.. The old 90w gear was much thicker!
  19. Those Louisville's are good looking trucks!
  20. Ugh, thought so. I have a race (not a points race for me)that weekend, but I will see what happens and might come out there instead? I haven't been to a truck function all summer for the most part.
  21. What's the date again? Oct sumthin? I have a couple races to attend, but would like to get back over to Gerharts.
  22. Passenger car TPMS are sketchy at best for reliability. I hate them, though dont own a vehicle with them. Just another flashing light in the dash to ignore by most people. Those people wouldn't check a tire if they noticed it walking up to a car, so what is a light on the dash going to do?? They build new cars for idiots.....but they are making better idiots every day.
  23. Luckily I'm minutes away from Summit here in Akron. I know this covid crap has everything screwed up. Many phone sales work from home so they aren't even close to anyone in the office to move things along.
  24. I used a long limit switch arm to contact my brake pedal. I used it to work a relay for both the cruise and Jake brake operation.
  25. Ditto...... I never even heard about it?
