  1. All I can think of is this little clip from Blazing Saddles. Pretty much sums up CB's today. No matter how nice you think you are,........ I still run CB's in my pickup and Mack. Granted, usually a waste of time, but when traveling they come in handy for information and highway problems. Well, usually. then again.............."UP YOURS!!!" In the late 70's, hanging with my buddy in the neighborhood we'd spend all night yak'n on his big base station, 850 watt linear and Moonraker 4 beams. We talked all across the world. Fun times.
  2. I'll get a fresh roll of duct tape in the mail so you can cover that BIG hole up in the door. I wouldn't want to hold the responsibility of having that beautiful door rotting out!!!
  3. Well, everything got paint! Wow, buddy did a really nice job. Here's a couple teaser pics til I get everything unboxed and bolted on. Mirrors and trims pieces: window panels: Outside of door: Inside of door: Of course now my buddy wants to know when I'm bringing the cab over? Ah, ya, right. Not sure that will ever happen? I'd like to just touch up the outside and get some fresh white on it to match the rest. I did get the passenger door hung back on last night. I got the vent window kinda cleaned up and put on. The chrome is pitte on the outside but I'm not ready to spend the money to get that fixed!!! Now I need to get window felts and tracks, some more new SS hardware and start bolting things on. I'm still on the fence about putting power windows in it? We'll see after I get everything else put back on the truck.
  4. Brooner. It's call "To The top crane" channel.
  5. Been watching some Youtube videos from a crane company out west. Kinda interesting, the fellow doing it is real down to earth and is explaining everything going on. Of course once you see the good videos, you have to watch the FAIL videos from typically NON USA places where things go wrong in a big way.
  6. ^^This. My older phones would allow a cord to attach to computer to send them, but for some reason the newer Motorola's don't allow that? Or for some reason my computer won't talk to it. So I email them to myself and do like Rob. I quit downloading pics directly here. You fill your allowed space and then you can't post any more pics. I use Postimage.org. It's free and works easily.
  7. Ouch. Did he get his walking papers?? Or are they a bit more forgiving?
  8. Fill'r to the rim!!
  9. Just guessing, but I would think you could put any transmission back in. The Unishift was basically just an air shifted Duplex. I've never seen an air clutch set up on a B, so can't comment on that.
  10. Oh, maybe it's Hahn green?? LOL!! Ya, I see now the ol speelchuck didn't catch it. I'll have to update my dictionary. When I needed to get the bunk repainted after fixing it, I ALMOST went and bought all the supplies. Then I realized what an undertaking it would be and what would I do with all the supplies left over? I loaded it up and delivered it to my buddy with a paint shop. Presto-change a week later it was all white again. Anymore I've learned to just hit the EASY button!!!
  11. Those air ride versions sat lower, or seemed to have a different stance compared to std. My guess is from the front suspension geometry.
  12. Apline green!!!!
  13. But he did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.............
  14. Yup,. I like the sound from them. The Pete came up because I commented about liking the sound of the old Cummins and I found that video to let everyone hear it.. I like Mack's, but also the old supercharged Cummins. That's all.
  15. Yes, Stan also has an R Model. Don't recall the exact model and haven't seen it in years. It had S&S on the door.
  16. But there is something about those old supercharged Cummins. They do sound GOOD!!!
  17. Pics from about 2008- 2012: Superliner I drove in the video above: B model: The blue Super: From 2007 when he first got the V8 done, he wanted me to make a little video of it making smoke:
  18. The Blue superliner(cummins powered) is still blue as far as I know. Last story I heard about it a few years back was after an oil change was done somewhere, the drain plug was loose? Lost oil, lost oil pressure, etc. I think they were able to resolve it without too much fuss. He has not been real active in the local chapter anymore(I'm not either, I get to meetings when I can), and haven't spoken to him in a couple years. I do now recall the CL accident. I'd forgotten about that story. The current CL was from the local concrete plant, the name escapes me right now. Yes, he has/had a std R model, green of course. When he first finished the V8 superliner(I think it came from concrete plant also?), he kept telling me to come up and take it for a drive. This was the only time I got the chance. I pulled it out of the IX center after the Piston Power show back in 2015: His green B model is called "Gravy Train". It has a 237 in it, and he talked of wanting to put a 673 back in it. Years back I had thoughts of working on a trade for my 673. Did I mention he always wore a green sweatshirt? Lol! Stan is pure Mack.
  19. Stan Leman has one, of course it's green! It has a bunk on it. I have a picture of it along with his V8 Superliner and B model at Lakeside Sand and Gravel show.
  20. We're suppose to get dumped on this weekend too. Ugh. I dropped the doors off at my friend's place to start on. I'll get the rest of the little stuff over next week. Thanks again.
  21. Those two cars I spend four years collectively getting them both completed. I cringe at the though of working on any others.
  22. I actually enjoyed it. I liked playing with my 100 and 1 Electronic kits from Radio Shack back in the 70's. It's fun to watch it all come together. Though this was kinda tough as trying to follow the wiring blueprint was tough as I'm not a real engineer or electrician so I have to really spend time figuring out what they need. Like I say, "One wire at a time". Pretty soon it's all done. I did this conversion in 4 wks all by myself. Total strip and rebuild/rewire. I was pretty impressed, still am. The older machine is a bit more finicky, but that is just because it's plum wore out(lead screws/bushings). The electrical side is fine. I'm glutton for punishment. The two Willys I worked on: Red car got a/c installed so I had to chop up the original harness to get the dash out: It's all back together, with working a/c. Less A LOT of extra connections and terminal strips!! The orange car was a new build, I built the complete harness and all the electronic crap he wanted in the car.
  23. One of the girls in the office snapped this as I was working on our CNC mill: I completed a full 4 axis retrofit on it last spring. Total rebuild. The old 1980's controls were failing in a hard way. I emptied that large cabinet, removed all motors/wiring and started all new. This was the second one I did. Old controls(filled to the brim) New controls....looks kinda sparce...... (though this wasn't totally wired yet, but close) Our smaller mill was all mechanical and I did a complete conversion to CNC. Did mention.........this is not my job actually. I'm just the only sucker that knows how to do stuff like this so I get volunteered...A LOT!!
  24. I have very large machine shop at my disposal for the last 32 yrs of my employment, so making anything is not an issue. Sometimes I cant find the time to do it?? I've done my own machine work on the engine block for the race car. I even redrilled my flywheel for the 237: This is the G/L horizontal mill with 4'x8' table.
  25. You need the piece that mounts in the dash? It's just a sheetmetal tab that the door latch catches on.
