  1. How are your thrust bearings? That would make it hard to turn with the wheels on the ground. Or do you still run Bias ply tires?
  2. It was used in a country song video a few years back, that is what I remember the most about it. Dang gone just can't recall the owners name/screen name.
  3. I was lucky. The unit I got was in nice shape and works flawless. Yes, it is a bit flighty on wavy roads and going around long bends. But it is better then nothing. I put a valve on the dash, but never really feel the need to turn it off(yet).
  4. Great work! What power window kit did you use? Looks like a universal kinda set up? I've seen them but wondered how tall they were and if you could get them shoved down in the door once mounted to the panel. I tried to mock up a Ford window motor right to the original Mack regulator since the teeth look to be identical and would mesh fine. Only problem there is no room up top without getting in the way of getting the door panel back in the door again. Have you seen these? http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Speedway-Universal-Electric-Power-Window-Switch,52770.html Allows you to put the stock window crank back on and just move it up/down to operate the windows. Not cheap by any means, but if I do end up converting mine I think I will do it. Granted you can't do both windows from the drivers side, but for the most part I leave my windows up with the a/c running!
  5. That truck looks awfully familiar..........
  6. Have a few buddies running. Havent had time to do any watching. Been told I need to run the wagon. Ya, well, cool but not happening.
  7. Some people can break an anvil with a rubber mallet....................
  8. I was in Mississippi last week for a day(long day). I couldn't believe how bad the roads were in Memphis(flew in and drove south). Would have really had a bad trip if I had to drive the old Mack down there!!! Once on 78 going into MS the roads were nice.
  9. Kinda like the roads. I never knew that Ohio had the only lasers in the world that have an arc built into them. It has to, I've never seen so many roads/bridges that don't line up. Damn near throw you out of the seat when you hit the crater between the two.
  10. Working class? Don't yunz know you can't make money working an old truck? LOL!!!!! Great job Greg! It does look good.
  11. From the news snippets I've seen it is moving along and appears to be down on power and hope that it continues to derate.
  12. Hey.............so I'm at Thompson Saturday for a stick race and while I'm at my trailer waiting for another round this fellow comes up to me and says....."I know someone on a mack website that knows you. He lives in Florida". I kinda get that deer in the headlights looks and then I start to ponder. Hmmm, Hat? Nah............then he says "the guys name is Bill". Hey, that's BILLYT!! Yup. Seems your buddy "Bob" wanted to tell me that whatever long legged story you try to make up about him.........is likely TRUE! Hope you're weathering the storm okay!
  13. Movie? Super Sucker? The Meanwhile Bar. With all those axles it must be Michigan.
  14. Fuel pressure? Just a coincidence filter got plugged up?
  15. My old house isn't horrible, but it had a bad sag in the middle going into the living room area. You would walk and feel it dip down. Now, it has a 3/4 basement with a crawl space so there is sorta a foundation wall supporting that crawl space right under that dip area. I was able to get a big bottle jack on the block and jack the floor til it felt straight. A few accurately cut 4x4's made nice supports and 13 yrs later the floor is still level. I just had vinyl siding done a few weeks ago and the guy was telling me how bowed the walls were, you could see the roof ridge difference. Once he sided it and closed in the ridge areas it looks nice and straight. You couldn't really tell before, but he did a nice job of keeping it looking straight when done. Same with roof when he did it a few years back. It dips and moves around. You can't tell, he was able to run the shingles and hide it very well.
  16. String? String? WE don't need no stink'n string.............
  17. Holey Shnikeys............... That's looking AWESOME!
  18. Bobtailing that old motor will do just fine, as long as it's not gear bound in the back? Mine with 4.62 gears would run 65 mph all day on the governor. Ya, slow down on the hills with my trailer, but always got me there. Yes, my 237 makes it much better around here on the hills.
  19. I sometimes imagined a convertible cab for my truck. Going to the races with the top open? Sounds like fun.........til it rains LOL!!
  20. Bob was actually third, but he knocked 2nd place in a ditch along the way. They still haven't found them...............
  21. Depends if it is commercial or not. If it is a antique, you can get it registered as historical and fly under the radar. If it is commercial..............good luck............
  22. If that would have been just a couple inches lower............he might have made it through...............before running into the bridge instead. Someone just posted about a dumptruck hitting a bridge in Marysville, Ohio recently. I know the old story was a dump truck driver has either laid one over is going to. Guess that also applies to hitting bridges?
  23. Man, I get busy for a couple days and come back to a post like this? Wow...good things do come to those who wait! Thanks Barry.
