Norwalk(know as Summit Racing Equipment Motorsport Park) had their Fun Ford "Reloaded" this past weekend. Three day event. I won Nostalgia class on Sunday which put me in the run off against the Saturday winners. I won that round which put me into the final four run off for "King Ford". I lost in the semi finals with a .002 break out. It was only .01 difference in the reaction times so there was no wiggle room at all. Just rebuilt mine last winter. The only real seal needed is the cup seal on the piston. The rod has no air seal because the cup seal does all the work. I think mine had some kind of felt wiper? Or maybe it was rubber? I did have to punch a hole in the new cup seal(can't order it with hole). No big deal. Works great and doesnt leak a bit now. It used to constantly hiss. It now snaps shut/open with force instead of draining my air supply trying. I ordered it from Baum and got in a couple days.

Just looked at pictures again, yup, has a bungee cord holding the door handle back so it doesn't fall open? I thought bungees holding the door closed was a Freightliner thing???? The single stick? Hmm, wonder if it is a 237/5spd in it?

Oh, he forgot to mention it comes with $4500 in the glove box............

Ain't that the truth. If you have to pay to have this kind of stuff done this hobby gets REAL expensive. I told the fellow I'm building this Willys for, he has it made. He owns a fab shop, lasers, rolls, shears, powdercoating, etc. He still has a small fortune in the car and it would be so much worse if he didn't have all this equipment at his disposal. We just made some brackets for a/c on his one car. I used an old 352 block and took to his shop. We lasered out the brackets, made some pivot bushings, welded it and then powder coated it. Presto-chango.

Yup, lots of R models around our town growing up. I still remember the weed burner exhaust bellowing black so you could hardly see the street as they took off from a stop. Now it is just the boys in their pickups playing that game. My 237 came from a firetruck, no puff limiter on it. The turbo still has the tag that says "Muffling device".

Just found out a buddy is going to St. Paul show as a vendor. If you see a guy with Ford FE and SOHC parts that say "FE POWER" on them, that is Jay Brown. I think he said something about being in front the grandstands somewhere? He will be displaying stuff in the TMeyer Inc area. If you are into FE stuff, Jay is the go to guy. He has run Hot Rod Drag week with Cammer powered cars for a number of years. Back a few years at Norwalk Raceway park, Jay was running his black '64 Galaxie with a 510ci Cammer going 9.40's for Drag Week. I cruised my blown 390 up and hung out for the day:

The Good Guys show here in Columbus is July 8-9. I'm trying to get the Willys done for the guy to take down. It's close, but I'm not holding my breath right now. He is wanting me to work more time on it this weekend as he has a state inspection for next Wednesday and that ain't gunno happen even if I do work extra this weekend. Right now the nose piece is off and I'm wiring up the fans and getting the a/c plumbing finished up. I still have to wire the headlight assemblies then get the grille in the nose and the nose bolted back on. That isn't going to happen by Wednesday....there isn't enough time in the day. It does run: (minus the nose/hood a few weeks ago). The red car is getting a/c added after I get the orange car finished.

Being able to run an old truck and make money.............that's HANDY!!!

Newbie? If all I wanted to learn was how to hold a steering wheel.......then I'm sure you could tell me the proper way. Beyond that.........I doubt you could assist in much. I have very long time, good friend who has the same attitude as you. Holier-then-thou, always standing on a pedestal touting "I'm the perfect person with all the right answers". Sadly we all know better, but we know it is a moot point trying to explain it to him.

I've typed so many things in this post but deleted them all. I won't let a narrow minded person knock me down to their level and beat me with experience.

It is a basic bolt in. You will need to use the balancer and water pump off the 673. The 237 stuff is too long and would run into the radiator. I reused my front mount only because the 237 was missing. I would suppose it is the same anyway? Are you using the 5spd too? You will need to do something with the clutch as that is likely a pull style and the B is push. I'm still running my Triplex and have no issues. I had to build my own air intake. Was pretty simple using some 3 1/2" and 4" tubing and some silicone couplers.

Sounds likes Jay Barbe's F model. Been discussed here a few times. It does have the basic parts on the truck still, but it is not functional.

Really, an integral bunk B with "little rust"? Not likely these days. Looks like the whole back corner is gone. Maybe since the metal is gone, it has little rust?
