  1. If the original poster doesn't reply, I have interest in it Morgan.
  2. "This thing goes on the end to make it quiet like in the movies"......................ya, okay dokey. Wonder where I can get some of them silver bullets?? Maybe the Lone Ranger has a few left??
  3. I was in CT for business and went past the old GAOT museum location. I pointed it out to my co-worker. Too bad I missed it by a few years even at that point.
  4. I was going to try to come down, but with the rain/wind/cold and working on getting my bunk back together I stayed home. I used to be a regular to the Hebron show years ago.
  5. Gee, he got himself an A K 4 7.............not like the AK fortyseven most gun enthusiats have............. "Conrad Dragonlord" sounds like a real badazz with his mom's scarf hiding his face... I wonder if she will be supplying milk and cookies at the gun range? Thinking something along these lines:
  6. Got my flaps. Cut them to fit yesterday. Going to get some stainless hardware to hang them. I'll post pics.
  7. Well it took two years and lots of prodding to get my friend to finally start on making the pieces. The g/f was getting impatient about having to sleep sitting up in the passenger seat. Making the corner piece was the biggest deal, the door was simple. The corners are aluminum extrusions and took some finesse to fabricate from pieces and weld together into something straight and usable. I was pleasantly surprised when my friend handed me the piece and it fit right up and looks good. The only thing left is to get the skin back on the rear. I have a piece cut for the open section, but after looking at the drivers side it looks kinda rough and since I'm fixing it I might as well fix that sheet too. Need to stop and get another sheet of aluminum and shear it to size. Once that is on I will scuff it down and paint the whole thing. Won't be any show winner, but after what it looked like: I'm pretty happy with it. Will be a few weeks before I can get paint on it, but should get on the truck shortly. Much to the g/f's excitement!
  8. What's funny is every year since there is another "mountain" story from someone that followed google maps and didn't look at the satellite view!! Doh!! Live and learn.
  9. Ouch. Man, can't any of the plug suppliers give you something that will survive? Only thing I have to deal with is the ground straps fall off my Autolite Racing plugs. Typically only replace in the spring, but I'm guessing they break sometime during the year. Last week I went to Beaver Springs for the FE Reunion. I changed the plugs and found 3 that were missing the strap completely. Still ran the numbers last fall. Or did they break off during the winter sleep and when I started it to load it they disappeared? Didn't sound any different before or after.
  10. Wow. Nice work. With all my machining capabilities I don't know why I didn't just cut my pins off and make new? Maybe someday I will. Mines ARD 144.
  11. Mines marked weird too, if I recall. Need to crawl and look. Mine is a 517 too(pretty sure, CRS kick'n in)
  12. Sorry to see this!! Ugh. Looks like someones train ain't get'n there new wheels this week.
  13. "Go big or go home"............
  14. I got some shingles I need placed on my garage roof. Will that be big enough . I bet when it moves, it doesn't actually MOVE. It just rotates the world underneath it?
  15. "ran when parked"....................
  16. Well, Van Horn took the stuff back and I got the right stuff now. Ball/socket design and 3/4" holes in the other end. Should be good to go once I get time to cut/weld/install it.
  17. Well on FB, a fellow was selling MACK embossed mudflaps. I got a pair over the weekend and will be getting them cut down and put on.
  18. Ah, my main side dies off in a few hours. I'm thinking it is the air wiper switch(again). Used to last a day or so.
  19. I sent mine here: http://masontrucksales.com/ They rebuilt it in a day and shipped it back. $500 and some change. I needed a new fiber drive wheel too. Been 15 yrs and still going strong. Mine used to pump oil into the system like a waterfall. Had to drain the tanks daily. Looked like a mud milkshake. Hmmm, I just tried to surf their website but it is like its not there. Only the home page.
  20. Yup, that is 220's truck. Same name as posted on Ebay.
  21. What kind of start button? Air control or electric? Might be the valve that is draining air off the system. I have my system on and working. When I was testing the tank, I only had the big valve on it and it held for a week with only a dropping a couple pounds. Now with the system installed, it seems to loose more, but not horrible. Almost 20# in a week. I removed the pressure relief valve to see if that helps. It did. My assumption is that being so close to "pop off" that it actually is loosing ability to hold the pressure fully. I have a relief on the wet tank so this was just a secondary(tank had one on it when I got it). It is still down a few pounds, but not 20#. I have a brand new air button on the dash, so likely it is not he reason for my losing pressure. Even with new check valves, I bet they are the reason for my small loss.
  22. I use Power Service in mine every few fill ups. One bottle does 80 gallons, so I split it between the two tanks. With the old 673 I would swear it gives it a few extra HP. It would pull the hill on 224 in one higher gear after putting it in the tank. Coincidence? Who knows. No real input on the 237 as it runs circles around how it used to pull anyway.
  23. Ya, it is amazing he went this far without noticing a car hanging off the left side of his trailer, taking up the second lane. Not like it was trailing behind him and not clear in his mirror.
  24. I spoke to Stengel Bros and they weren't much help over the phone. I called Van Horn Truck parts and they seem to be able to get me a different arrangement that looks like a ball/socket design instead of solid rubber bushing. They saw my concern about trying to get it installed once I weld it and the rubber not giving me enough play. I will be getting a call Monday about returning my parts and ordering the other version.
  25. I went through some time getting new bags for mine back when I put it under the truck. Local place had to call Firestone and cross them to something newer. I put new pivot bushings and cross bar bushings in it without too much fuss. The address from the website comes up as Whitehall, PA. South of Pitts.
