I can see how/why the inner race "could" turn. You put preload on the bearing with the nut(against the inner race), but the inner race is not really held in place by anything. It surely does not "spin", but could move if the preload was light enough. In all my years of it, I have never seen a spindle with heat damage/scoring from that inner race spinning at high speed. It is always just a nice slip fit. The only time you run into problems is when the bearing fails and purposely spins the inner race and welds itself to the spindle. That is when it gets ugly. -
Welcome to the forums. They make Jakes for those old 673T's, so first thing is to see if it has spacers under the valve covers? Switch on the pump arm? If it has them, maybe the dash switch is broke/missing?

Got 5 hole wheels on it still. Ya, looks like it could use some suspension work? Pins missing? Did someone cut and paste that pivot mount in the frame(like really poorly?) Got a face only a mother could love, but kinda cool in a nostalgic way.

B61 Model Stainless Steel Muffler

I found the muffler on the cab had near as bad drone inside as the rattle from a straight pipe. I ended up putting a Dynomax 4" "racing" muffler(basically a big cherry bomb) under the cab and then a pipe up the side. Clean look and made it bearable noise level inside. You could get a std muffler and have it ceramic coated silver? -

I used a stemco 2 pc on my truck a few years ago. All I could get my hands on in a pinch. Still dry, I've heard horror stories about them, but with the little mileage mine gets I hope it lasts my lifetime. I did the bearing like I do my pickup. Crank it tight while spinning, back off, then snug it up til the lock ring finds a hole. -
Model B: Cab Vent assembly

I have that style of vent in my bunk. Works well. Open either way(front or back) and had detent to hold it. You can get chrome versions too. I can get you sizes if interested. My cab has a passenger side vent. It has a rod coming in the cab to operate it, though it is broke off(and I don't use it since I have a/c). It is under the air cleaner(I have the big cleaner, not the winter/dual inlet style). In the picture, to the right of the heater there is a panel. There used to be a knob sticking out the little hole that you pushed to open the vent. The door over the opening would direct the air into the heater or open for fresh air. -

Yup, talented lady for sure. Karen jokes about driving my truck, but we would never get there since she won't shift out of first gear.....LOL!!! I tried teaching her to drive stick some years back. My '67 F100 was super easy, power steering, power brakes, smooth/easy clutch. She would stop before getting it into 2nd gear. I told her she had to PUSH on the gas and GO!! Nope, we made a few slow trips around the mall parking lot and that was the end of that class.

I wonder if you couldn't machine the spindle to fit a 517 pin? Is there material? Pin long enough? Just thinking outside the box. My truck has 517 and I did the pins about 16 yrs ago. -
And here I thought the B model was a horrible dash design? I kick and scream every time I have to even THINK about pulling the dash panel to get to something. You can't do it. It's bad enough the steering column is in the way, but you have to squeeze your hand in there first to get tach cable loose so you can pull the panel out enough to even get to anything. Make sure the batteries are unhooked, as the key switch is HOT and if you lean it down it will touch the dash and POW!!! Glad to see you got the air steering working. I had to rebuild my mounting points as they were all egged out. Lucky I work at a machine shop!! Did you put a flip valve to turn the steering off? Did you add another air tank? I did both. Don't usually need to ever turn it off, but the extra tank helps a bunch.

Don't remember much about it, other then the cafeteria style serving. I suppose back in the late 70's it was the in thing. I suppose it isn't too much different then Golden Corral today? It sure was a "different" time and I'm old enough to remember it. -

LOL!! Ya, it is convenient to put it there to keep it under cover. Only have room in the shed for one tractor(the 149) so until spring that is where it will sit. When I picked it up from my friend it was sitting in the back yard, under a ripped old tarp. We had to drag it out of the woods with his bigger tractor as the tires were all flat and it is hydrostatic and the pressure relief handle is missing. We actually were able to put some gas in the tank, a battery in it and it started and I drove it up the ramps into my pickup. I was surprised. -

I just googled it, there is one in Columbus, Ohio. There was one in Canton many years ago, inside the mall. I can remember going there when I was young. -

Solid cast iron baby!! Nothing whimpy on old Cubs. 1\4" steel frame! Solid cast iron rear axle assembly. 5 x 4 1\2" bolt circle on the back fits Ford car rims. Deck is cast iron center with 1\8-3\16" formed deck. -

Yes, the oldies are starting to command big money, as no one wants to bite off the payment on a $20K lawn tractor!! Kinda like old cars. Most figure you will pay a fair sum for a decent old car then $35K for a new car. -

I have a picture of my 149, basically the same machine as the 127. The 127 is electric lift instead of hydraulic. The 127 came from a friend, needed some loving. Runs well, just needed some front end work and new tires. -

I still run my '72 149 Cub Cadet. Just machined my other Cub(127) pivot bushing for brass insert and the same with spindles. It is nice and tight now. Few hours and $15 in parts. You do have to pull the engine to get access to the pin. PITA, but not that horrible overall. Will be doing my 149 this spring now that the 127 is ready. I was going to look at newer tractors, but with all the crap on them I really wasn't interested. Plastic everything, all the stupid safety switches(to back up you have to turn a switch, turn off the deck, turn the key back and then reverse. NOT). -
Fuel Tanks

I've patched/welded on mine for years. Until I ordered new Aluminum tanks last year!! No more leaks LOL!! I used to drain them down, loosen the straps and make sure the fuel was away from where I welded. No problem. It would find a new spot every few years, thus I replaced them.
