  1. $1,200 is just registration if I go the full 80,000lbs. If i go 50,000lbs its $757.00. Plus $8,000-10,000 for insurance. Then you have associated fees for DOT/MC# etc.
  2. If you have questions, please feel free to ask. It's the only way to get them answered. Its only ignorant think that you won't fit in. I came on this site about a year ago and knew nothing about Mack's, or trucks in general. Now I own a Class 8 tractor. This forum is nonjudgmental and the guys here treat everyone like family. Welcome to BMT By the way, we like truck pictures, and the occasional tall tale.
  3. There hasn't been much to update in the last couple weeks but today the biggest PITA thing I had to deal with on this truck was resolved. I GOT A GOOD TITLE IN MY HAND! It took some time and research but I got it done. On a hunch I did a title search thinking it was still in Best Paving's name. Sure enough it was. I spoke with Ernie, the owner of BP, and he was very helpful and signed whatever papers I needed to get a duplicate title. He also told me a bunch of old stories about the truck, the guy who bought it from him, the company who had it before him etc. He said to this day that was the strongest rig he has ever had. His son learned how to drive a Class 8 on this truck too so he has a soft spot for it. Ernie is stopping by my shop tomorrow to see it again for the first time in 8 years. With this done my plans are to register it historic and get my QQ (historic) plates on it so I can start driving this thing around. Then take my CDL written test and make appointment for the road test with a trailer. Then I have to decide if this is going to be a hobby truck or if I am going to put it to work. I don't want to pay the $1,200 registration, commercial insurance, DOT and MC# if I can't make money with it. I have been looking at these type of car haulers: http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=4509691
  4. Like Farmer said, some members would have to put on clothes.
  5. I figured $4500.so even more that I anticipated. Cheaper to fly out and drive back.
  6. Good site great people. You've come to the right joint.
  7. That will scare most people off. Lol
  8. I remember last year there was a guy with a gray primered day cab (maybe a Pete? I forgot) revving the crap out of it when he was pulling in and all day you heard him juicing it. A couple guys said what an A-hole.
  9. Ben, Cool! I remember the guy filming that last video. We were all standing around shooting the breeze. You revved that thing so much some guy commented that you were going to blow the motor. Lol. The second video when you were pulling the camper, Sandy and I were standing by the VW Vanagon camper watching you guys. I can see us in the vid.
  10. Wow that seems like a great deal for that truck. Not even broken in with those miles. I wonder how much it would cost to ship it to NJ?
  11. The COE was my pic of those cool Brock's
  12. This is mor than a truck site but an extended family. You can count on this group for a shoulder to cry on, or moral support. I've been through this myself so I know how difficult it is. You'll survive. Even though I avoid the Church like the plauge, i fully believe God never gives you more than you can handle.
  13. Congrats on getting your A! I dig cabovers, great turning radius. Are you just hauling boats or that was just that days load?
  14. The crack issue has affected thier ability to think logically. Did this guy have a foreign accent? Sounds like the same outfit that picked up at my place a few weeks ago with an overloaded f350. I posted pictures in another thread.
  15. At least he has the motor and Trans and its inside his shop not getting water logged. I don't see why that's a problem.
  16. Pictures and vin # will help as well
  17. Stuck it on my 5th wheel before leaving work. I didn't lock it down just because I have to lube my unit. Been sitting for a long time and its sticky. I wanted to paint it before lubing everything. Hopefully I'll get that done this weekend.
  18. This is the event I am shooting for to bring the General too. Figured too many Mack's, need to break it up a bit. Lol
  19. $260 with shipping on eBay. I haven't used it yet. I was going to bring it today to see how it fits on the truck. One of the questions I had for the seller was how much slop but he states it stays tight on the 5th wheel. The RV dealer across from me is always moving big 5th wheel and gooseneck trailers so I figured I'll hit them up for some business when I get the General on the road.
  20. Found this nifty thing on ebay. I've been watching it for a few months here and there and finally shot the guy an email. The ball is good up to 25,000 lbs. Perfect for 3 car wedge trailers, RV's, and other gooseneck trailers. Adds versitility so you can hook up gooseneck trailers with ease. No more getting caught when you show up and the people tell you "yeah its a 5th wheel" and its really a gooseneck. Pop this puppy in and hook up!
  21. I have to let you go Kramer- but I don't even work here That's what makes this so difficult.
