  1. Shouldn't the rails be Fish plated < not 45 degree?
  2. I love Transtars and probably my favorite cabover. One day I will have one. Right now I have to settle for the model I have by my computer.
  3. That was the rustic sleeper option popular on Alaskian models.
  4. Do you have pictures you can send? Email is the same as my user name at aol.
  5. Quick update. Today the low air warning buzzer started to work on its own and I got the passenger side power window to work. Two more things crossed off the list in 98 degree heat. And here's the section I painted
  6. I was told straight 40w and when I called NAPA to get some since no other parts store had straight 40 Rotela the parts guy said "what do you have, a Detroit"? - pretty funny.
  7. This was my 1981 z/28 I bought from a buddy then sold 4 months later when I bought that 78 T/A.
  8. We are not that stupid here at the Shore
  9. I have about 10-12 gallons of fuel in my General right now with a quart of ATF to help lube everything since the truck was sitting. One of the drivers that come into the dealership next to me uses a gallon of 10w14 in each tank when he fills up. He has a series 60 Detroit.
  10. Chevy in a Pontiac? That explains it all. As a Trans Am guy myself I cringe at the thought. I have a 455 for my Formula. My 78 Trans Am was basically stock with a 400 under the hood.
  11. Went to Bordentown today to pick up a 1973 Pontiac Grandville low rider pimp wagon we bought at the auction. I followed this moron into the truck loading area. The only strap he had on the load was the left rear tire strap you see in the picture. THAT'S IT! The sad thing is these are the assholes who are the competition with non commercial plates, no cargo insurance, no DOT #, no MC #, and this is how they haul shit. Yet the brokers/dealers say "well I can get it done cheaper from this guy". No wonder why, they aren't legal!
  12. None. Been a bit busy at work and with the heat, I haven't really had the desire to stay late and work on it. I did get new taillights and I was screwing around with a can of gloss black paint on the frame. I need to wire wheel the frame rails though and do it nice. My desk was 95 degrees the last couple days. Been sweating my ass off so all I wanted to do was go home, shower and relax. Today I got to do an auction run so I was in the Dually for a couple hours with the AC on. Picked up a 1973 Grandville low rider. I got a picture of some idiot car hauler I am going to post in my "don't let customers book loads" thread.
  13. This is going to be the next tow rig on Shipping Wars with some Italian guy Vinny from the Bronx driving it
  14. This dude is from Fl but I wouldn't doubt he fits the description on the rest of your story. I showed these pictures to a car carrier buddy of mine. He said there's a lot of those clowns out there. He said DOT is going to have a field day with this driver.
  15. That's one way to ruin a Mercedes. Apparently nothing is off limits when stupidity is involved.
  16. 3300 gallon tank would be nice to have just to run on the truck. It would be a months before you have to refill again. That would be a killer long hauler.
  17. Nice blue Brockway dump. Is that body stainless? The bus is pretty darn cool too. That would be a bad ass camper. Instead of being the U Modelers you can call yourselves the U-Crew.
  18. I agree, that guy was frightening. Maybe I'll start my new web series, life on te road, the real deal.
  19. I've seen guys use BB's. When you are done you just dump them out and use a magnet to get the last few. Much easier than trying to clean sand out of there.
  20. I love that show. Stupidity and scripped bullshit makes for good TV. But it doesn't do much for the trucking industry. Think sbout it, who is going to buy an old church bus and leave the name on the side? its obvious they just want to make that jarred dude look as stupid as possible. I was also wondering why there isnt someone with a 24' box truck with lift gate. I thought a couple times to take my go pro with me when i go on runs to video my adventures then put it on YouTube.
  21. I think the problem is people took sides without knowing the facts. Everyone I spoke with who actually watched the ENTIRE trial came out with the same conclusion: Not Guilty. The whole thing was tragic. Poor decisions and loss of life. I hope i never get put into the same situation but I'll be damn sure i will protect myself anyway possible if it comes to that. I think the real travesty is the senseless playing the race card and really pushing the lynch mob mentality.
  22. The Mopar vans were the quintisential cool van from the 70's with no windows, just the two heart ones in the back. Shag carpeting, mini bar, queen sized bed and mirror on the celing. The ultimate shagging wagon. But, How can you not love the A Team van?
  23. Mack Mhe9. - I've always dug your set up. Drop deck with a nice set of ramps is perfect. Gives you many options for loads you can't do with a flatbed.
