  1. "Ken, strike while the iron is hot! I used to do much for the future but once I realized that the future is already came and I also should do for today. We better should remember that." No truer words have been spoken! This is the quote of the month right here.
  2. That's some good driving right there. For that tire to blow catastrophicly its must have stopped the heart for a second, then being able to keep the truck straight and get it off the road safely, that takes experience and skill. Especially since you also had the trailer behind. Glad to see you are ok, except for the underwear change.
  3. Tim, did you say you had a Model A Ford you wanted to sell? I sent a message to you but never got a response?
  4. Great pics Vlad. The wife and I stayed in Lancaster PA and went to the train museum a few years ago. Great place. She told me her family stayed in one of those caboose's when she and her brother were young. I am glad you got to see so much when you were here. Any plans on coming back next year?
  5. That looks like a useless truck. I've seem Chevy 5500's, IH's and F650s like this and at first its cool but let's be honest, kind of a waste.
  6. No sh@t? I work in Lakewood!
  7. I dig the S model IH's. I've looked at a few rollbacks of that era. I think they have a tough but classy look to them over the rounded front ends.
  8. In case you roll your riding mower you know how to properly flip it. Thank you for your service to our country.
  9. If I ever get a Heavy I will gladly offer a discount to BMC members. Right now I am focusing on transporting cars over recover work.
  10. If anything I would stretch the frame and put a 28' rollback on it.
  11. I towed for about 5 years, all light duty stuff and transport. A few months ago I decided to do this just for myself. If down the road I need employment I feel it gives me more of an advantage over some kid off the street. While looking up flatbeds to buy i found this: http://southjersey.craigslist.org/cto/3885782037.html
  12. This weekend I got my WreckMaster certificate. Yesterday we rolled over a car, today we flipped a bus. Met a lot of nice guys and towing professionals. Here are a couple quick pictures I took while we were having fun. I was hoping to take video but I was in the control truck making sure the bus came over slow and smooth. I needed to pay attention so no one got hurt.
  13. A diesel option on the 1500 is a good idea but its more for fuel mileage over pulling power IMO. If you want to haul you still need to buy a 2500/3500 with a Cummins in it. My 1500 does what I ask it for but I am limited. Next truck is going to be a 2500 or Dually with a Cummings so I can hook up a gooseneck trailer to it.
  14. Could be a sending unit on the tank that is bad. Check the fan to see if someone did a direct wire job. Perhaps the thermo switch went bad and they just wired it to a hot lead off the ignition. If you have any questions on it, you might want a shop or a mechanic on the go come and check the truck out for you. If it costs you a couple hundred to have it inspected, you could save thousands from potential issues down the road you didn't see. Great looking truck. Good luck with it.
  15. I get the guys point with the flag but maybe put up a sign so people understand its meaning? I would think the guy is just a goose stepping Jew hater. Not quite the same message he is trying to portray.
  16. That was one of my thoughts yesterday was to run a direct wire either off the key or a switch. Still would like it to function the way it was intended but if all else fails there's a back up plan. I won't have a chance to mess with it for the next few days since I am getting my certification this weekend but next week I can focus.
  17. Todays experiment was a success. I ran a jump lead directly from the battery to the Kysor. I heard a click so I know something was working right. Then she fired right up and ran fine. Now I have to trace the lead to the shut down and see why its not getting power. Let the electric fun begin.
  18. Drag racing rigs don't interest me as much as walking around and looking at trucks.
  19. I doubt this is going to be a low key auction. They are getting the word out as much as possible to generate as much interest as possible. I expect museums and big to e collectors will be there with open check books. I emailed the auction company to get more info on the event and a full list of vehicles going through. If my shop can grab one or two cars it would be worth it.
  20. I am going to let the boss know about this auction. Might be some nice finds for our shop.
  21. Thanks. My truck is a 2003 1500 with 5.7l hemi. It's got 113k on it still going strong. The trailer is a 16' Carmate with a wood deck so I can haul all sorts of stuff. Mostly cars but I have moved a lumber, fencing, motorcycles, pavers, and a bunch of other crap. Heck I even used it to move out of my apartment into storage when I was closing on my house. I actually averaged 14.9 mpg most of the way back from PA to NJ towing the Vette too!
  22. 68 corvette Convertible 427/390hp, auto, power steering and brakes. Nice condition. Looks like it was restored about 10 years ago and enjoyed since then. I sold a 36 ford street rod for the guy and this is what he replaced it with. Nice car for a good price.
