  1. You couldn't have found a website with better people. I joined a year ago after going to my first truck show. Now I am addicted and bought an 84 GMC General. Even though this is a Mack forum, everyone helps out regardless of the make. You will learn a lot here. I have to warn you, there's a lot of shifty folks here and watch for Winfall Wimmins. LOL.
  2. I liked the dusty barn find look. I wouldn't wash it at all.
  3. I started a thread in the engine area. I took pictures of the Kysor set up and posted it. I am still not having any luck after grounding out the other side. http://www.bigmacktrucks.com/index.php?/topic/31627-8v92-kysor-shut-down-issues/
  4. I figured I would post this here instead of my General thread. I replaced the Kysor shut off and now its not even firing up. The moment I crank the engine over, the piston extends and shuts the lever down. My old one had let the truck run for about a minute or so then it would shut down. Or if I raised the idle, it would shut down. I installed the new, connected the power lead to the one side. tried it and it shut down. I grounded the other side, and the piston is still extended. I switched the leads to see if that makes a difference, no change. I am baffled! Here are pictures of the set up: Any ideas you guys have, I would greatly apprecate it.
  5. Ah nuts, we left before the picnic. I knew we should have gotten a room so we could stay later. Next year I'll be there!
  6. If you need to thin the heard, I'd love to take a single axle B61 off your hands... you know... to help you out. AND WHERE ARE THE WRECKER PICS?!
  7. I sold my Big Red last year. Not a drop of oil leaked from it.
  8. Do you usually keep a supply of wicker chairs around so you can cut the centers out of them because those are hard to find?
  9. Wow, congratulations on the win! Where were they doing this? I have to remember for next year.
  10. My guess is to see if the brake light switch is off the foot valve or perhaps by the frame rail? It may have an air line running to it. Use a test light and have someone hit the brake pedal to test if it lights up.
  11. Wait, there was a potential of winning $500? How did I not know this?
  12. I bought a Watts T-Shirt and I also got this sticker to put on the General, or my Ram, or on FWD's truck when he's not looking...
  13. Doug, thanks for the input. I was hoping to do it today before I had to go on a run but business comes first. By the time I got back from Kearny picking up a 1970 442 Convertible, it was raining like hell. I made a ground wire while I was in the shop already so I'll take 5 minutes tomorrow and remount this thing and cross our fingers, I should be good. As for the oil spot, I hope the landlord didn't see it yet.
  14. Sh*t,. I didn't realize there were two rollback beds in that pile of crap. I'll take both when it goes up for auction because the guy abandoned the load.
  15. Yes, as soon as I opened the thread up I looked at the pictures and went "that's a sweet rig" - Then I read what you put and started to laugh. I found this 59 Diamond T Rollback on Craigslist yesterday. I spoke with the seller in Macungie as well and then came across his ad while doing my daily CL search for crap to buy. I hope to get up there to see it this weekend.
  16. Doug - This was an awesome show and I am happy to see the Titan won the Directors choice. I whole heartily agree. That was my choice of the show on Friday when it arrived.
  17. Thanks. It's been a learning experience. Hopefully by the end of the week ill have a video of me driving it.
  18. They have a lot of trailers on that site. I have to stop looking or I might do something like buy one.
  19. I could use that rollback body thats under the boat
  20. Here is a link to my Firebird project. I have a lot more pictures that need to be posted but I can't find what the heck I did with them. http://jtresto.com/project.htm
  21. I think I am going to make a ground wire and hook the power lead to one side and ground the other. If that doesn't work, hook them up the other way and see if that works. It was nice to meet you and yours as well.
  22. It says that on the main body but what are the two terminals? Which one do I hook the power lead too and do I have to ground the other side?
  23. Still no input on the Kysor question? Since the truck is not running again due to this Kysor issue but I am still off the Macungie high, I busted out the powerwasher and tried to get rid of the rest of the green crap that was growing on the frame. I also chipped away at the old dried grease on the Holland 5th wheel. While I was at it, I hosed down the engine compartment for the heck of it.
