  1. The sun is out here (NJ) so get your butts to the field while you still can! I see there is a big break in the weather for the next couple hours so if you want to get over there before the heavy stuff, now is your chance!
  2. Woof, that's a big difference. Lots of coffee!
  3. I haven't had a radio in my pickup in about 7 years. When I sold my Dakota and bought my Ram, it was not as easy to mount a radio under the dash so I put it off. I decided tonight to dig out the Grant XL and put in in the Ram for the trip to Macungie. I went to Radio Shack since I couldn't find the power wire, got a new one and a Cig Lighter adaptor so I can switch it from my Ram to the F350 I use for delivery's at work. Found a crappy cell phone type CB antenna in the garage that was still in the package that I have no idea where it came from to test the radio. Hook everything up, replace the 9V in my Road Devil D104, plug it in and she lights up but no volume. Check the squelch and the volume, make sure its on CB not PA etc. Nothing. Key up and the meter moves. Looks like it was receiving too, just no speaker. Got a set of headphones, plug it in still nothing. Then I put the radio down on the floor with the rear down on the carpet and knobs facing up then I hear the speaker kick on. I wiggled the plug and caught the speaker coming on a couple times but I couldn't keep it in the "sweet spot". So I go back into the garage, grab my Cobra 25 GTL just to check if its the new plug or the radio. Plug the Cobra in, lights up, got volume, speaker working etc. OK, so I screw the antenna on and got nothing. Went through all 40 channels, not one thing. So I key up. Nothing. No movement on the meter. This has a standard mic not a power mic. I am bummed. Two radios, neither work. I also have another Uniden that I blew the finals on as well a whole stack of other CB's at my mothers house (strange how my overflow winds up there) so I figured maybe I should just take the good ones too a CB guy and have him check them all out. The Grant I think the jack is messed up, the Cobra I have no idea, and the other Uniden I know I blew the finals on (that thing had a bunch of mods). All the dudes I knew who were deep in the radios back in the late 80's through 90's I lost track of. I know I can probably search the interwebsnets and figure the crap out myself but that's a project that I will never get too. Easier to drop it off, pick it up and be done with it. Do you guys know of a good radio guy in Jersey I can take them too? If I get the three fixed, I can mount one in the General, one in the Ram and the other in the F350 so I don't have to keep switching them from truck to truck. I have a nice set of Wilson whips with mirror mounts for the General and a Wilson 1000 somewhere in this pile for the Ram. The F350 I'll leave the cheap magnet antenna on it since it sits at the shop. Thanks!
  4. You are 7 hours ahead of us right?
  5. That's the plan. I was willing to give it a shot if I got some road time at highway speeds but I haven't done anything so maybe I'll shoot for the Diesel Nationals at E-Town for its debut. Should stand out among the 100's of Petes there.
  6. You can just color in the "o" in Hello and have a name tag that says "Hell my name is"
  7. I would think it would be better to show up on the grounds before it rains so this way you are already there and parked dry. Once it gets soaked you might dig in driving into the park. Even a day later, its still going to be soggy.
  8. Well I made a go at it but there's just a little more stuff that has to be one and I didn't have enough time to address it. I didn't want my maiden voyage to be the 2+ hour trip to Macungie. So I have to accept it and next week keep plugging along. I figured I have another two weeks of staying late at work tinkering before she's road worthy. Then I have to get it on the road and see what gremlins rear their ugly head. I am shooting for mid July to be fully sorted. Mean while the lady I got the truck from hasn't been able, or maybe didn't try yet, to get the title for me still. I'll be at the show to meet you guys anyway. I am hooking my Grant XL back up in my Ram so at least I'll feel like a trucker on the way up.
  9. I do, and its a hat from the Mack shop.
  10. Ill be the one with the Mack hat on. Lol
  11. There was a General there last year. I'll put a bulldog on the hood and a Superliner grill on it and throw some people off.
  12. Unfortunately the General is not ready so it's staying home. I was pushing to get it ready but with rain and working late last week as well as this week I wasn't able to do the things I needed. I want to make sure it's road worthy and I haven't had any seat time in it. Maybe by Gerhart's.
  13. Vlad, where in NJ are you? Welcome to the USA! You should stop by my classic car dealership in Lakewood and check out some American Muscle Cars.
  14. I was in Queens on Friday delivering a Chevelle. 8 hours to go 150 miles round trip. What a fuster cluck that was near LaGuardia. Cars in accidents all over the place, jackknifed car carrier on the BQE making me go north over the GWB which was a 1.5 hour ordeal just to go 10 miles. Car played chicken with a 379 Pete and lost. No one gives you an inch when you have a trailer. I hate driving in NY.
  15. I'll prob show up around 10am or so with the Wife in tow. We are coming up Friday then driving back home then back again on Sat.
  16. I agree. I don't need a pile of crap some dude is trying to pawn off to the next idiot. It wasn't something I needed so I can wait until the right one falls into my lap. Not like I need another vehicle. I ran out of room a while ago... then the General came. LOL
  17. I tried to buy a 1975 R90S last year from a guy. Cool bike but he didn't have a clue about the bike, didn't have any service records, didn't know what was done to it. With 48k miles, I want to know what I am buying. I passed. I've wanted an Airhead to add to my collection for a while but I will wait for the right one. Right now I have my 06 VTX1300c, 1989 Katana 750, 1981 CB900c, and 1976 Harley SS175.
  18. The worst thing is when you pick up an American flag and it says made in China. How un patriotic can you be?
  19. I agree the original pipes fit the trucks style better.
  20. What Beemer do you ride? My buddy has an R1100r.
  21. I loved my Dakota. 1994 5.2l extra cab SLT. Bought it with 25k miles and sold it to my bosses nephew with 155k. Never let me down. Even towed my car trailer with it on occasion without issue. It's got 230k now and still going. Sold it when I bought my 03 Ram.
