  1. I am looking forward to meeting you in person Vlad! Hopefully I will have the General ready for show, if not I will be driving up there on both Fri and Saturday (maybe on my motorcycle if the truck isn't ready) - This is going to be one good show this year!
  2. Unimogs kick ass! Sweet looking rig. Dig Dug, I had one of those too a couple years ago. 1983 with 78k miles and NO RUST! The guys in the shop next to me were about to junk it. I grabbed it before it went to the scrap yard. It sat behind their shop for 5 years. It drove when it came in, someone gave it to the guys father. The battery went dead and they just forgot about it. I couldn't believe they were going to junk this thing. This is what it looked like after I cleaned it up, serviced it and got it road worthy: This is my mission in life, to save stuff. Like the General, this 54 Mercedes, etc... I buy stuff and make sure they wind up in the right hands.
  3. I say we give Vin a break, kids just trying to make a joke, poorly chosen but we know he didnt mean anything.
  4. I am long past the collection status lol. We have 11 vehicles, 4 motorcycles and a boat. I need more space , a warehouse, or farm for all this crap.
  5. OK, so its not a truck but I had to post this thing anyway. Its a 1954 Mercedes 180d - good parts car. I picked it up last night. It was odd enough, I had to rescue it. I thought it would be cool to put the motor in a riding mower - lol.
  6. Or get some quality pictures from OD of stranded women on the back.. Or mobile brothel
  7. Alright, that's just bad ass. What transmission does it have?
  8. That's good news Mike. Ill see you in a macungie too.
  9. Yes, I would enjoy the article if you can scan it an send it. Jtformula (at) aol.com. I really appreciate it. I am not an ATCA or ATHS member. My buddy Bobby, the one who drove it back to my shop in the video, said he will jump in with me after work one day and give me a lesson. I never realized how different this was going to be. I have no problems with other clutches from cars to 6+1 Trans that was in an International we took on trade. But once I get out there and practice, ill be fine. Plus the truck needs to be run anyway. I sense a new GoPro video...
  10. I was thinking the same thing. Lol When I used to have my wrecker I junked a lot of cars and always went through them before I rolled them over the scales. I found lots of change, cash, bandaids, pens, receipts, toll papers, tickets, etc. The usual crap but the best was one car had a bra under the seat and I found panties in the glovebox of another. I also got a nice Bowie knife and a butterfly knife out of a ford pickup I snagged. I also found half a joint in a van I bought from a guy who demanded I picked the thing up at 10pm because code enforcement was showing up the next morning to make sure the van was gone. He had two weeks to get rid of it and waited until that moment. Dumb potheads. I tied the bra to the antenna so it flew proudly as it entered the junkyard.
  11. I only deal in cash. See you at Macungie with "the goods".
  12. That's one really clean trailer. I want to hang out in it, maybe sell some TV's that "fell" off a truck out of the back.
  13. Nice looking combo Ken. Are you going to bring the whole thing to Macungie next month?
  14. Dragging it backwards and dumping the clutch will only result in damage. A little patience will go a long way in saving you costly repairs.
  15. Welcome to the site. We love pictures so we look forward to seeing your MH and other rigs in your fleet.
  16. I've seen that for sale for a few months. It's only 20 minutes from my house.
  17. That's kind of cool Today I tried to take it around the back lot at work. My truck shifting skills need work. Tried shifting without a clutch and failed. Tried double clutching and failed there too. I managed to grind my way into 4th and that's about it. I ran out of room. Ill try again tomorrow. Also finding out I am having a drivers door latch issue. Mainly it's not staying closed. That's going to be interesting if I hit the road. Door panel is coming off tomorrow to investigate.
  18. I use the new content every time on my iPad. I am not having any issues.
  19. No real updates yet but I did find a new purpose for the truck while its behind my shop. Now when we make a sale we wail on the horn. Honk honk! Hopefully tonight ill have a couple minutes to scrub out the interior. I also have to replace all the light bulbs. Half of them are out. Once the lights are done ill have my first 13 speed lesson through the industrial complex. The GoPro will be rolling for that.
  20. If memory serves me right, lead paint was phased out in the mid 70's in the US. Most cars were enamel and lacquer paints at the time. Being a 1949 most likely you have some type of paint containing lead. Just don't eat the chips and you will be fine.
  21. I think they need to clean their walls and carpet
  22. Cant go wrong with a pair of boots
  23. Most of my bumper pull trailers are 7 pin so it make sense to install one of those. Plus the 3 car wedge trailers are 7 pin and electric brakes. I am not the best welder so something like this, I would have a professional do. 1/2 plate steel sounds right. This of course will not be immediate but once I get everything else worked out squared away with the truck, then I will start to plan the additions. Thanks as always for the advice.
