  1. Nice part is the wife is doing everything and I haven't had to lift a finger. Getting old sucks but nothing I can do. Jack and coke helps dull the pain.
  2. Yesterday was beautiful so I decided to get the toys ready for the season. I charged up the battery on the Alfa Romeo, fired up two out of three motorcycles and cleaned the inside of the boat. I let the cabin air out for a while then I close it up. As I am done, I get down on swim platform then drop off to the ground. As I touch the grass, I hear and feel POP! My ankle gave out. I take a minute developing new curse words then hobble my ass back into the house. I pull my sock off and I had a golfball size (well if you cut it in half) bulge sticking out of my foot. Sucker was tender to touch. My wife grabs an ice pack and I elevate my foot. I figured instead of going to the emergency room I'll hold off until today to see my Dr. I am not going to pay hospital copays over the $30 Dr office visit. The verdict, a sprained ligament. Got to stay off that foot and take it easy for a couple days to a week depending on how it heals. So we have beautiful 70-80 degree weather coming this week and I can't ride my motorcycles or drive anything with a clutch as this is my left foot. Nuts!
  3. I talked to this guy already. He has two R wreckers. This one and another one with a rusted cab for $6,000. This one is at his girlfriends farm in Mass, the other it at his joint in VT by the NY border.
  4. Vlad, more like my Russian online translator is better. Happy older day my friend. Hope to meet you one day. Love the kabobs.
  5. I don't have a problem with a repower but the Chevy engine is out of place. More like a hot rod then a truck.
  6. с днем рождения! Vlad
  7. Very cool! 25 ton wrecker in a compact size. Price is reasonable too.
  8. This is by the Wawa in Ramtown. I am up the street from the Wawa by the exit on burnt tavern.
  9. My 99 f350 just turned 280k. Barely broken in. I just did glow plugs but still have to chase down an injector issue.
  10. Looks like a clean rig. How many miles..
  11. Not yet. I don't make two trips when I buy something. I bring cash and a trailer so everything is done at once.
  12. Found a great site with full specs on Loadstars http://content.wisconsinhistory.org/utils/getfile/collection/ihc/id/36235/filename/print/page/download I think this sucker will fit on my shops two car trailer. Weight is 5,450 and the front wheel track is 77" wide and then 88" wide in the back. The width between the trailer fenders is 89" so the front of the Loadstar will slide right inbetween. Now I just have to figure out a day to get out there.
  13. The update for Saturday. I ran the name and address through the county tax site and nothing comes up. I have a buddy who's a lawyer who might be able to help me. I am going to drop a note in the mailbox, truck door, and on the camper on the property as well as an office trailer they had there. Hopefully someone will call. While I am there ill try to get the vin off the truck if its open and the year so I can run it through the dmv and see what comes up. I also want to stop by the farm stand still and see if they have any contact info.
  14. I know, I drive my wife crazy with this crap. I have auto/truck ADD. I can't focus on one thing. The odds of buying a running and driving Mack anything with 40k some odd miles for $1,000 will never happen. Plus this is so damn cheap I can still buy a Mack. My other thought I had today was instead of a rollback, mount up a double bunk sleeper and 5th wheel for a three car trailer. Cool ass shop hauler for my dealership. As for the GMC, the main idea was to save that truck, get it going and on the road again then sell it to fund the Mack buy. Remember I buy and sell vehicles for a living so just because I am on the hunt for something doesn't mean that I have given up the goal of Mack ownership. Heck, this past week I looked at an 87 f350 wrecker, 1979 z28, 1980 MGB, 1972 MGB, and a 1980 El Camino to buy and flip. If I sit on my ass, I don't make any money.
  15. 1977-1988 is what I read on the interwebsnets
  16. I talked with the guy on the phone. Sounds like a pretty good truck. Brakes need to be bled before I can drive it back to NJ though. CA is 117". Proper for a 19" rollback is 120" so I might be able to get away with it 3" short. If I wanted to do a 21' rollback bed, which was my original plan, I will have to move the axle back another 27" for a CA of 144". SD - I'll contact you if I can make this work. Thanks!
  17. I spoke with the Paving co today. Really nice guy and I was surprised he called. They sold the truck to the guy 8 years ago and a month after he passed away. He didn't have any contact Info for the family though but gave me a name to try to look up. He said its got a V8 Detroit that ran like a bear. Said that truck could run 110mph and even with 60k on a trailer it would do 70-75mph with ease. So I have one more piece to the puzzle but still not closer to contacting the owners.
