  1. I would agree with this suggestion also. Every truck looks better as a wrecker.
  2. I am thinking leave/put whatever was on the back that you know the truck had. I think that's some cool history that it was a dozer hauler. You see lots of flatbeds, dumps, and tractors but an equipment hauler of that era is not common. To have something a little different at a truck show will stand out, especially when that's the real history of the truck. Don't blend in, stand out.
  3. That is pretty damn cool. Love the suicide doors. The 5th wheel is kinda there for decoration with that winch boom in the way.
  4. Hey it's and opportunity for me to return the favor to you! I live 30 mins away and as luck would have it I was in Marlboro today. Send me the info and I would be happy to check it out. Send me a note on what you would like me to check and ill make a time with the owner, and get some pics.
  5. I never got into country that much but I do have a CW McCall album that I've over played. When I was in school I was in punk and heavy metal bands. Now I play acoustic blues rock. I still listen to Social Distortion, Metallica, Dead Kennedy's, Slayer, Misfits etc. Back on topic again. Cool video!
  6. That's cool in 6th grade they were already teaching some cost of business stuff. Oh and for buying and selling for a living, sometimes you wind up keeping a few. That's why between my wife and I we have 9 cars and 4 motorcycles. I couldn't bring myself to part with a few if them.
  7. Welcome to the site and sorry to hear if your fathers passing. If you have some pictures to post if the ones you want to sell, that can be helpful. I myself have been looking for a B model Mack so I would love to know what you have and prices you are thinking.
  8. Tom - yes list drop deck flatbed service and the type of freight you want to specialize in maybe good like hauling cars, equipment, general frieght services etc. You can say something like "we have the right equipment and experiance to haul forklifts, light construction equipment, automobiles and trucks to lumber, palletized freight, etc". Just to give you an idea this way people know you what you can move. Something like a D9 Catapiller is going to be too much for your trialer but a couple skid steers, backhoe, box truck, cars etc you can accommodate. I have to agree with everyone else. If you book a load, you do it fast, safe and deliver when expected. The best businesses get clients by word of mouth, which gives you a chance they will use you over and over again.
  9. Make sure you list fully insured and post your dot and mc # when you establish them. Also I would list the type of freight you want to specialize in. Remove your date of business for now. Perception is everything and you do not want people to think you are still set behind the ears. Good luck and great success to you!
  10. Cool. I always have trouble finding Umodels for you
  11. Time for some rollbacks: This is on eBay: Another cabover:
  12. Any one catch this in the description: Class: Class 2 (6,001-10,000 lbs.) I agree, if you are going to put an ad up on eBay, put some information to tempt people to call or bid, not just "Truck, low miles, buy it" - What if I find the truck at 12:30 in the morning and want to bid? I don't want to have to call a person for further details in the middle of the night. Whatever you think someone should know about it, that's what you put in the ad. Rule of thumb is if you need to know something as a buyer, then you as the seller should disclose the same information. Anytime I see ads like this I think to myself "If he didn't put any effort into trying to sell it, why should I put any effort into buying it" I guess its because I list anywhere from 4-10 cars a week on eBay and do this for a living as the Internet Sales dude at a classic car dealership, I know how much I take pride in my auctions because I know what the customer is looking for. I see stuff like this with only 4-5 pictures and minimal info, it boils my spaghetti.
  13. Englishtown Swap Meet always has a ton of guys with 6-71 and 8-71 blowers floating around for sale. Fairly cheap too since most you would want to rebuild, then get the manifold for whatever engine your doing then the flange for the carburetion. I've seen them from $250-500 up to $1,000 for the basic blower case without the aforementioned accessories.
  14. NJ. I am going to see it on Sunday
  15. Found this yesterday for sale for $2,500. Sellers description: "23' steel rollback bed, 6V53 detroit motor, 5 speed, 2 speed rear, tubeless tires, Power Steering, Air Brakes, tilt fiberglass hood, 26,100lb gvw) This is very tempting for that price range. I just spoke with the guy. Motor was rebuilt, runs and drives well. Recent front tires (need balance). From what I got its a reliable rig.
  16. Thats never fun when that happens. I had one of those days two years ago with our shops two car trailer. I got the rear car off no problem but when I was backing a 1964 Impala off, I thought I was further to the left then I really was and the rear tire as it got to the ramp fell off and of course the car was laying on the frame rail on the deck. The ramp kicked to the side (tire was about 1" on the edge) which caused it to drop. It took me an hour of jacking, cursing, etc to get it back on the trailer again. This was in front of the Wildwood Convention Center, which is on the boardwalk, where they were having a classic car show and auction. Lots of car guys and other dealers were there watching and I gave them entertainment for the day. I kept my cool (after dropping a few F-bombs) and took care of my mistake, then parked the truck... and made myself scarse for a few hours as I walked the Wildwood boardwalk, got a slice of pizza and cooled off. Man I was pissed!
  17. Once the rest of the states wake up and pass drug testing for welfare scum, we will start weeding out the ones sucking money from the working people. They make it too damn easy to get on the freebee train and never want to get off.
  18. F*CK! Thats impressive.
  19. I was just having a discussion with friends of mine how the world has changed from 25 years ago until now. I can't even imagine where society will be in another 25 years. I predict apocalypse
  20. There was a song called YMCA which was huge on the radio in the 70's and is still unfortunately played at every wedding for some ungodly reason. I am sure you can look it up on the innerwebs to hear it.
