  1. In unrelated news, Bill Clinton called Romney and asked if he can borrow his binder full of women for the weekend.
  2. I shot the guy an email. I have your number. If I don't hear from him by the morning don't worry about it. If I do, I'll call you. Thanks for the offer.
  3. Theres a used pump on eBay for $450. If I wasn't looking for a B Model this would very tempting... well its still very tempting. Damn you people with your cheap tempations of Mack ownership... Email sent to you Mike.
  4. Kid said there is a problem with one of the cylinders and will possibly need engine work in a text message he sent me but when I tried to call, he didn't answer the phone. I am trying to get more info like what is the engine issue so lets see where this goes.
  5. I got pics of that b61. I think it's worth saving. I am going to call the kid this morning get more info. If we can do something I might have to save it. Then I just have to figure out how to get it home.
  6. Well my bid was canceled and the seller never returned my email questions. The auction says Item no longer available so obviously he sold it before the end of the auction. Oh we'll no big deal. I found a 74 Brockway 358 for sale in Hazleton Pa for $1500. Prob a better truck for similar money. Needs tires though.
  7. The one show that really boils my pasta is that Operation Repo. Total BS! Big burly dude gets kicked in the nuts or slapped out by some 5'0" chick and is rolling around on the ground in pain every episode. I used to run a towing company as well as had my own trucks. Did a bunch of repos in my time. Not once did I have to deal with sh*t like that. I grabbed the car when no one was looking and got the hell out of there. I never asked for keys or knocked on the door. Some areas they would shoot first ask questions later. I do like that Wrecked show on Ohare Towing in the Windy City. That seems to be more real then staged
  8. Lakehurst is 20 mins from me. The traffic and roads down here arn't that bad as north Jersey. Take 295 north instead of the turnpike. No tolls and goes the same way up to turnpike exit 7A. You'll prob take either rt70 across (lots of traffic lights) or 195 across. Either way an easy ride. Give me a buzz if you want to grab a bite to eat.
  9. How did that thing pull?
  10. I figured for $1600 as the buy it now and if he took less, how can you really go wrong if it runs and drives ok. Needs a 5th wheel or a proper gooseneck ball and it would be a cool car hauler. I found a 4 car trailer on Craigslist for $4500 and a boatload of three car haulers for similar cash. Nice carrier for my classic car shop. We would only use it about 10 times a year so fuel mileage wouldn't be that much of an issue.
  11. Farmer - I emailed the guy so lets see what he says. The price is right, lets see how rough it is. If I do something with this guy, I would need a hand getting it home. Anyone available to haul it back to NJ for me?
  12. I just threw in a lowball bid for this thing on eBay. Just seemed cheap for a cool looking truck: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1979-CHEVY-C-70-TANDEM-TRUCK-/221141691008?forcev4exp=true
  13. I had just seen this thing on eBay too. I was going to make a post for it. Seems cheap.
  14. If all you have to do it download the current updates there is no reason to buy a new one. Waste of money. Downloads are free and you can do it through iTunes. Try that first.
  15. Too bad the other guy didn't post a picture
  16. http://www.uship.com/popups/profilePic.aspx?path=https%3A%2F%2Fresources.uship.com%2Fstatic%2Fusers%2Ff3d4310d-1c0d-4d2c-b.jpg
  17. Did you do any updates on your iPod touch? Mine is at least two years old and used it before just to check and no issues.
  18. With the exception of the drivetrain
  19. Do they sell any of the trucks out back or they are just for parts?
  20. EZ Off is what I use. Sometimes you need a kitchen scrub pad to help with removal. If the paint under it is old there is a chance of removing some of that but take your time and you should be fine.
  21. Lamarck - its funny you said that. Our driver for our shop was in Iowa delivering one of the cars we sold, already dropped another one in Missouri. We had one car coming back to NJ so I was trying to get one on Central Dispatch. Our driver thought he would try UShip. Now our dealership sells classic cars so we have the right equipment and knowledge to properly do classics. There was a 68 Jaguar XKE coming to Bayonne for export. Our driver sent the guy a message with a price. The guy declined and said he had someone else to do it. A day later he contacted bobby and said the dude came with an Isuzu flatbed landscaping truck with a folddown tailgate. Good for lawn mowers, not $40,000 Jaguars. He told him he is SOL because he was already in Ohio and I found him another car to bring back.
  22. I am sitting in my man chair watching Shipping Wars and as I ponder the show for its entertainment value I can't help think that people are watching this show saying "hey I can do that too" and a load of new wannabes are popping on UShip posing as legit trucking companies without a DOT or MC #. So a guy with an 86 Checy c30 and a homemade trailer competing with a guy with a tractor trailer with full insurance and a real business now going head to head with each other. I can't see how this is good for the industry. Now I like the show just for the stupidity factor but you know it's all staged BS and the girl they have on the show is just a model hired for the show. What are your thoughts?
