  1. People ask me in my showroom "why did the guy build the car like this" or "why was this done like that"? I tell them I didn't build the car, I am just selling it. If it bothers them that much buy the car and do it the way you want then.
  2. My iPod touch works fine on here. Some pics don't show up depending on where they are hosted. I have no issues with my iPhone.
  3. You are very right about that. I deal in classic cars so I hear this shit everyday. I have been to more truck shows (2) this year compared to the one car show I went to this year. All I heard was why did this guy do this to his car or why that's not right? These guys have nothing better to so then knock everyone else's car. Half these guys don't even have a car in the show.
  4. Cool rig. Any pics of what it looks like right now?
  5. Sweet collection of guitars and amps. Half my amps are in the attic. I need to dig a basement or something to fit all of my equipment. I haven't used my half stack in years. I have been playing through an 80w combo amp for guitar and a GK 200w combo for bass. Nice amp when I play out in my band. I have some vids on YouTube. Same name as the one I use here.
  6. Thanks maddog for that info. Ill find out once I get to see it in person. I am hoping to check it out on our way back from Maine on Sat. Still enroute to our hotel at 9:45pm. Were about 30 miles from the New Hampshire boarder in Massachuetts. The wife is driving so I am messing around on the iPhone in the passenger seat posting in the site.
  7. I hosted my pictures with photobucket. It's real easy to use and they generate the img code to post the pictures with too. As for cutting down the mov file try Any Video Converter. It's free and doesn't put one of those annoying water marks across the video. Just google it.
  8. Cool. I look forward to meeting you and Poppa
  9. Indeed I will be. My uncle goes every year. It's because of him is how I got into this a little more serious then just admiring old trucks.
  10. I believe the motor is an EN401 with a duplex trans. This used to be a dump truck. The dump body is gone but the lift cyl is still in place. I plan on removing the cyl and installing a 5th wheel. I would love to down the road extend the frame and put a rollback on it for a cool car hauler. Most likey just leave it as a 5th wheel truck. A rollback project is a little to ambitious for my procrastination.
  11. Are you saying that the guys on this site are full of sh*t?
  12. I don't think there are many scales if any on I84 to 684 in NY then 287 in NJ. I'll know in a couple hours because I am going up the same route to Maine in less then an hour. The brakes in the IH are less then a year old. I was thinking about loading backwards anyway because I think it would be easier to unload off the ramp next to my shop since I would have to cut it sharp right after it gets to the bottom anyway. First thing first is lets see if this B42 is a turd or a diamond in the rough. If its good, I'll make an offer then I'll work on the logistics.
  13. I don't think I will be able to make Trucktober. I am going in vacation this week for 10 days so this will be about a week after I get back. I doubt I can switch days off for Saturday right after a vacation. Maybe next year.
  14. Wow $2000 just to paint the cab? I think you did a fine job for first time out. Good luck with the rest. Can't wait to see more progress.
  15. The gvwr is 25900 on the IH so we would be at right at limits. I was going to be running in a dealer plate on the truck with a not for hire sign on the door just to blow past scales. That would be true too. I am running the truck for myself.
  16. I posted this truck a while ago. I actually emailed the guy about a 78 C30 wrecker he was selling that turned out to be a wreck without the "er". But I asked if they had anything else for sale and they sent me a 1978 Flatbed Ford and a B422X of unknown year. Well I just came across the email they sent me. I am heading to Maine for the week of relaxation. On my way up or on my way back I might stop in CT to see this thing in person. The price is right if it runs like they say it does. To refresh memories, this is the truck: Here is the Ford they had too: I have a question about trying to haul that Mack back home. We have a 99 IH 4700 with a 24' flatbed on the back I took in on trade at my shop. If I can get access to a loading ramp/dock and put the B42 on the back, do you think it can handle it and would this be safe to haul on the back of this truck? I would have to get chains and binders to properly hold it but its cheaper then paying someone to haul it for me. Here is the truck in question: Thank you in advance for any advice you guys can give.
  17. Heck ill drive that thing. You think we can go from Lititz to Lancaster in that sucker? Race a couple Amish buggies.
  18. Sentimental value is worth a lot more than meer cash. I get this a lot in my business if classic cars. The father dies or uncle or whatever and the family sells the cars. Two or three years later the son or grandson or wife etc calls and asks if we know who we sold their car too because they want it back. Do what it takes to get it road worthy again and show it in memory of your grandpa. Your grandmother would be proud and your GP will be looking down at you with a smile on his face. The people on this site are good folks. We will try to help you whatever you decide. Personally I want to see you driving that thing. In most states if you register it as an historic vehicle you do not need a CDL to drive it.
  19. I don't know what Little Orange is or where you are located but one day I will take you up on that offer.
  20. No kidding? I might like this hobby better then the stuck up car people. My wife actually had fun and said everyone was super nice. She's looking forward to the next show. So who wants to let me drive their truck now?
  21. Bob so it's ok to walk up to someone's truck and open the door and check it out? I think I'd feel better if the owner was around to ask first. The green single axle b61 that was for sale I want to climb in to check it out but again I am used to the car show discipline of never touch another car unless you get permission.
  22. Lol I had seen that pup too. The best was the lady sitting in one of cabovers (don't remember which) who looked like she's had enough and was sitting in the truck with a pissed off look on her face. I was going to take a picture of her but figured that wouldn't be nice.
