  1. Try Paul Romano, He has Mack gauges and might have what you need. 781-334-3573 www.naumkeagfire.com Firemack
  2. Check the bottom of the bellhousing, mine has a small plate with 4 bolts that cover the timing mark pointer. once you remove the cover plate you will see the timing mark pointer, then rotate the flywheel until you see the marks next to the pointer. I check my timing with the truck running (brake on, wheels chocked, before I get under it.) Firemack

  5. Barry, Here are the specs on the 2 filters Fram C31PL= NAPA 1503 NAPA 1237 NAPA 1503 Height 8.25" 8.039" O.D. 4.5" 4. 092" I.D. .625" .567" It might be possible to make it work. I will ask my local NAPA dealer to get one so we can look at it and confirm the dimensions and possible fit in the filter housing. Can you check the part number 85727 MackPro mentioned to see if that is available? We can look at that and check the dimensions on that one also. Thanks, Firemack
  6. Some of us have Mack Gas Engines (707 and 464) that use the Mack part 236GB222 oil filter which is no longer available from Mack or typical jobbers (Napa etc.) Has anyone found a good replacement for this filter, or do we know of any suppliers that have new old stock still available? The closest replacement I have found is NAPA 1133, but is has a much larger ID about 1.5 inches versus about 3/4 inch for the original. It should work but will not provide as much filter area. These are bypass filters so it may not be critical but would be better to have the same size filter if possible. Barry has checked but has not found any so need to check with the rest of the BMT team. Thanks for any help from the BMT team! Firemack
  7. Saturday morning was washout for the truck run- I decided I did not want the wet ass award from driving the open cab B75 in the rain so I went to the show in Chevy pickup instead- here is a link to the pictures from the show in my album- John B Haines Truck Show Hoppenville PA Thanks to John Haines and Art Cooper for a great time at the show and Doug thanks for organzing the run- hopefully next year the weather will cooperate! 8. Dan, If you read through the section about installing an alternator in a postive ground system it also discusses changing the charging wires to the voltage regulator. If the alternator was already used in postive ground system you may need to polarize the alternator- however if it has not been used in a positive ground system you should be able to bolt it in and wire it up. The voltage regulator can be either postive or negative ground. Either way works. The important item is to make sure the charging circuit is wired correctly per the instructions. If you are using the generator it will need to be polararized for the negative ground and utlize the same voltage regualtor etc. Firemack
  9. Here is link that explains how to convert the Positive to negative ground for both alternators and generators. http://mgaguru.com/mgtech/electric/ac101.htm Pretty easy. Firemack
  10. Hi Doug, What route will you take? I hope to meet you on the way. Looks like 422 or 61, let me know. I was thinking of connecting with you around Pottstown. Thanks Firemack
  11. What a great show this year, lots of great trucks and a good time for everyone. I was missing my flash card and only got one picture of the Firetrucks, 2 C models and our B model. 13. Heavy Hauler, Sorry for the delay in getting time to find the old pictures on the old BMT website- here is the link to 6 pages of pictures during the 18 month restoration. http://groups.msn.com/bigmacktrucks/radnor...nys1954b75.msnw It provides a lot of detail on how the truck is built and the methods we used to disassemble, restore, paint and re assemble the B75. I hope this provides enough detailed pictures for you to find what you need, but if not I have additional pictures or can take new pictures of the finished truck. Jim F is correct that the Radnor Fire Company website is being rebuilt, but should be up with new information and pictures of the Mack and the other apparatus soon. The Vinnie Miller website also has the engine rebuild, if you need that let me know and I will send you the link. Firemack
  14. Hi Tower Ladder, I tried to get a close up of the serial number plate, but my camera does not do a good job on close up's it is blurry. I will check out another camera to see if I can get one that will work and then try to get back to see the aerialscope (about an hour away) to get the pictures. It is also the very first one so may not have all of the tags etc that you would find on the later models. Firemack
