    Finally got some primer and paint on the Fenders....Thanks to Fyfxmn and 41Chevy for answering some of the questions i had.....Next step a little buffing and some gold leaf...sorry if the pics are sideways

    That looks like a pretty nice truck. Did the auxiliary ever do anything with it? Seems like its fairly complete....even has a roof patch kit on the running board!!! Here's a rookie question....what's the difference between a 45A and a 75A?

    That's a great picture!!! Priceless!!! Looks like a newer fire truck next to the Ashland Mack in the picture Christine posted.....I imagine it's either in a repair shop or fire station. If it was in Ashland you would probably know about it..... If a different department had it I would have thought the lettering would have been changed. Hopefully she comes back....maybe you can trade Macks!!! How cool would that be!!!

    Thanks for the reply..........looking for an original...... Found one on a truck in Texas....fire truck turned into flatbed....but he wouldn't sell just the tag. I saw your truck at macungie.......WOW!!! I looked through the whole book on the restoration. You guys did a great job on her!!!

    What a surprise.......never heard of him!!! Or anything about what happened.....but we all know Trevon Just Looked him up.....Very sad....had a 7 year old son....Veterans of any race or color are Hero's and deserve respect and gratitude.....not this

    Baltrm, If you haven't already checked it out there is a thread " Craigslist Macks" .......there's a couple L models for sale. I think the open cab one I'm thinking of is from the forties....not sure if that matters. Best of luck in your search!!! By the way...I'm curious why the 1000gpm pump? I saw a B model last weekend....not for sale....not sure if I remember the number....Think it was a b-21...huge pump....actually had duel intakes on both sides....Hall-Scott engine....semi open cab....beautiful original truck. The whole nose of the truck was reworked to fit the engine........

    Carl is dead on when it comes to a good or bad driver (tractor) ......makes all the difference in the world. Some guys.... all you have to do is basically hold the wheel straight. Others you struggle to keep up....I was taught when backing up.....hold the bottom of the steering wheel and just push it in the direction you want to go....hands never leave the bottom....or bad things happen. Like soda machines on the apparatus floor self-destructing!!!!
