  1. The B model was from Etna vol. fire co. #1.........................
  2. It's in north jersey.....here's the b.s. Story.....guy lists it on craigslist....he knows the company who owns the truck....I play phone tag with this moron for a month and a half.....finally set up a day to see and DRIVE the truck 10 am monday morning.......take 4 hour drive to get there....get there early.....the address is a hardware store parking lot?.....wait until ten and call him......doesn't answer....he calls back a little while later and asks if I could burn a couple hours until he can show me the truck.....so took the kids to the toy store......finally we hook up......actual owner of the truck is a beverage distributor......the moron takes me to an office and asks to speak to the fleet manager who apparently had no clue we were coming.....shows me the truck which can't be moved. There's stuff blocking the overhead door......in front of the truck is a fully restored Mack B fire truck so even putting the pumps in was frowned upon. The manager says to me I would have had it outside and running had I known you were coming!!!!! As far as price thats yet to be determined.....somewhere under 10k.....i'm suppose to call back tomorrow.....but to have somebody who knows these truck would be huge.......but gaining access is difficult at best.....if I end up going back and someone is willing to look at it with me that would be awesome.....i might go back wednesday if the price is right.......a member of the forum offered to haul it at a very good price....Thanks
  3. Well just got back........not as nice as I thought......but I have'nt really seen to many. Rear driver side fender junk.......water tank holy.....chrome needs attention.....paint pretty good.....runs good.......couldn't drive it yet.....long story.....spotlight missing on back.....seats need to be re-done.........only rust on the truck was on the bottom of each door jamb where you open the doors....the doors themselves were nice ......batteries dead.....pump unknown still.....I don't know what do you think????????
  4. Firemack, have you ever personally seen this truck?
  5. I'll let you guys know tomorrow........maybe ? I certainly appreciate all the great advice.....it nice to "meet" honest, good people!!! THANKS
  6. Looking to see if anyone going that way next week......and a ballpark cost.....Thanks
  7. Looking at a LS85 fire truck on Monday........planned on driving it, but if someone interested in hauling it let me know....Thanks
  8. If the things work out I would certainly take my time driving home.....As for the pump I just want to see if it will engage....twostickmutt mentioned pump oil.......what would be the best oil for this so I can bring some with me? Also I was reading he build sheet last night and it says it has a 12v electrical system.......any issues if I had to jump it? Thanks
  9. Thanks Fwd......more great advice........assuming it has a tank still....is there a way to look in the top of the tank like modern trucks? I know its not a very big opening but i would be nice to at least peek in. The current owner has never done anything with the pump or tank....
  10. I hope the owner knows what hes talking about to........he said they use it often for parades and fundraisers.....but making the trip does concern me a bit.....on the other hand you only go around once !
  11. Thanks Bulldogboy that will be a big help when checking her out! I was also told driving it home....A couple hours or more.... would'nt be an issue....What do you guys think? Top speed must be around 45mph..........
  12. Hi Guys....Finally going to check out the Ls85 talked about in a earlier post. The question i have is whats the procedure for engaging the pump? Theres no water in the tank and the condition of the pump is unknown......would like to see if the pump engages........only for a couple seconds...Thanks....

  18. I will certainly keep you guys up to date. Thanks again for the advice........Im starting to believe its the mack from kittery ME. Has anyone ever seen this truck before?
  19. The LS 85 might be from kittery....the build sheet says it was shipped to Portland maine. If it is from there, does anyone know anything about it? Seems to me a town like that would have held on to it. Bulldogboy The Amherst truck is Awd....750 gal. Pump 300 gallon tank....just over 10k miles....how do you know so much about it? Thanks again for the input. My email is miraarchery@comcast.net Picture of the trophy winner would be great.
  20. Thanks to everyone for the advice....it will go a long way in making a decision. The guy emailed me the build sheets ..........just waiting to hear back about the current condition. Hopefully next week i can go check it out. If it still has the original engine its a 707b..Is that a faily solid engine? The International in the picture is from Amherst New Hampshire....Engine 4.
