  1. Welcome to BMT . Did your tech hook up a computer to check codes? I have seen a few of these computers give it up , there are a lot of other issues it could be the injection pump rack soliniod is bad for causing this issue, power relays, keyswitch , wiring harness and connection check wiring at pump wiggle them while truck is running.
  2. 1/4 is normal on a Mack , I would be worried about a cam lobe going down though. Do you hear a high pitched chirp at all ? Did you adjust the valve bridges? And you should try running the engine with the belts off ,the clutch fans can make a lot of rattling noises sometimes.

  4. Need to buy a new ECM and have it programmed find a used good module same as your old one or have your old one rebuilt.
  5. Yes Mack rates hp at the flywheel and a shop dyno will give you hp at the drive wheels. You should have 70-80% of your rated hp at the wheels.

Valve adjustment should be done from the flywheel markings , remove the six 8mm bolts from bottom of flywheel housing remove cover marking are 1,6 3,4 2,5 . put marking in window and find cylinder on valve overlap and adjust that cylinder both intake and exhaust ,jake at same time .then turn to next adjustment
  7. Both , a/c high psi switch and coolant temp can both turn fan on or programming issues wire connections grounds etc. or fan drive

  9. Check the a/c high psi switch ,it will turn fan on also.

  12. The inlet of the davco filter has a check valve remove and inspect, make sure the spring and check ball are not damaged or blocked open with debris.

  17. Building for champ truck racing , this will be big trucks on race tracks road coarse racing . 100 mph cap on speed, single axle manual trans drum brake trucks. Roll cage is shedueled for install Jan 6 . Have a lot to do but making progress thanks to 84superdog.

  20. Yup that's the connection the 3 female pins either get loose terminals spread or the wires about a inch back up from pin break down internaly . I would just get 3 new pins from mack and remove replace , get a couple extras for next time . Problem is the fan blows a lot of air and heat on the connection and makes it vibrate = Crappy connection after 50,000 miles and intermitate 45 code.
  21. Need to replace the pins in the connection at the vgt . This usually fixs 90% of the vgt 45 code issues.

  23. Check where the injector harness goes over the oil control valve under valve cover have seen a lot of pinched harness there . If harness is not tied back in correct position it will get crushed by the valve cover and eventually get cut on bottom side and shot to ground on top of oil control valve.
