  1. Not into cutting but it looks differant, new old school.
  2. Do you have any more pics of the 4 door r model.
  3. You can pull the daytime running lite module out if need to , say,s DRL on bacl of it and it looks like a big flasher relay.
  4. That looks awsome , well done cant wait to see the rest come together....nice.
  5. If the window is already broke I push them out with my feet slow stedy pressure and use 1/4 nylon rope and a bottle of soapy water to install . Install glass into rubber gasket and set rope into groove set window and gasket against frame pick a corner to start in have someone help you push on outside of winshield while you pull the rope in use lots of soap water .....good luck the corners get tight so be careful.
  6. On the pump pointer at whatever degree pump sets to need a a/b timing lite to set or high/low pressure time it to set it back on correctly.
  7. Low fuel presure will cause it to pop and backfire and 83 code have had plenty of supply pump issues to go with the turbo problems too.
  8. Found someone else named superdog
  9. I can fix alot of things but still havnt figured out how to fix the nut behind the wheel..................
  10. Good looking truck by the way does it have air starter system as I remeber most of tose posts trucks had.
  11. I would check the block off plate gasket on the oil pump, its oposite of the pickup tube . this is for option to have rear sump oil pan or front. The gasket gets brittle over time and I had one I chased for two weeks just the corner of it was missing and sucking air under had accleration and heavy breaking. Also can check the assory drive gear the one that turns your oil pump for slippage they are pressed on, they get spun off when engine are over sped .Hope this helps good luck.
  12. Yup I remember using those gaskets once or twice they did the job of getting a little more life out of a worn engine, glad you found the problem one bad dog .
  13. Did you set engine/pump in time before you removed it.
  14. Long as the fire ring was sealing good ther is no other way for water to get in cylinder unless heads cracked somewhere or liner cracked , if tip washes on injector missing and cup was messed up it could get in there.
  15. Fire rings seal between top of liner and bottom of head, the gasket seal all other passage holes on block to head oil and coolant, liners could be low causing coolant to seep by but i wonder if he build the heads on a table and had intake and exhaust bolted up tight then set heads on and torqed not letting heads set on block correctly if injector cups were leaking in would leak back out the fuel line externaly.
  16. If you had crack in heads you should have been able to see the cracks , let me think on this one a little more.
  17. I always use the mack gaskets but you still might have incorect fire rings
  18. Does your truck have the upgraded ceramic lifters and cam or steel rollers, ceramic would have spring loaded push tubes and do you have exhaust brake . Have different settings and tools to adjust do you have a engine turing tool?
  19. Sound like erg cooler is down leting coolant into mass flow pipe causeing engine miss and compression in coolant system , if you drive it to long this way it will burn out your mass flow pipe sensors they dont like water. Egr cooler can b tested on truck to confirm its leaking.
  20. There should be some rubber seals around the water jackets on the head gaskets are they missing and did you make sure all the head bolt holes were clean before installation if they had oil or water in there you might have cracked the block possiably have incorrect fire rings some are flat others are steped.
  21. If the pump has a delivery valve down the have it built at a good pump shop tell them what you want to do most will have no problem bumping it up 10% adjust timing up 3-4 degrees make sure you have no boost leaks check the entire system not just the cooler , then sit back and enjoy the ride.
  22. I would want to fix the engine miss before anything was done, if you took it to a good dealship they could hang a external injector and line off the cylinder that is missing and see if its a problem with the injection pump or in the engine.
  23. also could use a better cab and need a air compressor.
  24. I thinking dragstrip need single axle maybe air ride ???
  25. Well I picked up My R and a superliner cab and hood .
