  5. one thing about these old girls you can always make it home.Nowadays the slightest little thing can leave you on the side of the road.Although they are alot more comfortable and quiet these days.
  6. in my opinion if it's not a Mack send it back.Any engine is going to have it's issues but why buy a mack if it's not a Mack motor personal preference anyway sorry that doesn't help
  7. I think I'll do that thanks.I have been on that looking around before I find this forum easier to use. Thanks
  8. I saw one like this at the show in Clifford Ontario unrestored that is a great example of a survivor. It's a shame when the price of scrap rises and we lose all our history.
  9. I don't really have a better pic of the rear hopper but if your wondering it was homemade. As far as other Brockways around hear I think i have about the only one except for George tackaberry he has a massive collection of antique trucks he is about 5 hours from me.
  10. Hooked on my friends A trains today thought I would share some pics. The first is my 58 Brockway the second truck is a 65 White my friend now owns I found in a farmers drive shed it had been there the better part of 20 years he got it running original 220 Cummins with a 10 speed. After all those years it runs like a charm.I pulled the trains down the road with the Brockway wow what a difference the way trucking used to be slow and fun.
  11. the fuel sure was alot cheaper though I bet you remember that
  12. My date thing on my camera is wrong they were taken Saturday I'll have to fix that for you guys.Very observant. lol
  13. That old 72 is far to rotten to worry about breaking. The cab is almost ready to fall off and the frame is seperated beyond fixing I've been using parts of it over the years.I decided one day to have some fun with it I wouldn't suggest doing that with something you care about.I explained to my kids when we got the blue R model we treat it a little {Alot} different.By the way that burnout was in 8th gear hammer down it has a 10 speed. My oldest sons friend was over he had never seen anything like it they still talk about it.
  14. 716 area code I didn't get to many pics but there are alot of trucks there I was busy getting R model parts.
  15. unfortunately no old pics of the 72 I tend to take a lot more pics now with the digital camera.
  16. Anyone looking for used truck parts I dealt with these guy's for the first time on Saturday great guy's to deal with and 40 acres of trucks. They are located just outside Buffalo New York. They have just about everything there.
  17. Hey Green Dash your not the first person to say that 72 looks like an old Zavitz truck it never was but I have seen pics of the old Zavitz rigs and it does look alot like them.I only live about 15 minutes from Zavitz yard my Uncle drove for them years ago. That truck of my Dads hauled livestock.
  18. I know how everyone likes pics so I dug one up of me and my kids having some fun in my Dad's retired 72 R Model. The next are my 3 trucks my 88 R model the 58 Brockway and my 80 Louisville with a screaming 238 Detroit with a 5 inch staightpipe. The last is another pic of my Smokin Mack I just can't get enough of that.
