  1. Yup i just threw up in my mouth a lil..... What a waste of a beautiful truck. Sence it is so nice we can hope its going to be like a fleet center/show piece
  2. Well I finally got her home after a half hour drive without a single hiccup. Well i did have to stop and take my shutter linkage apart cause they wouldnt open. Drives nice and straight not much play in the steering at all, front end is tight, cab doesnt rattle. I was told it would top out at 48 mph.... Well somebody fibbed, in 5th&4th i was doing 65 @1800 rpm which is plenty fast enough for me. The cab is in great shape still has the headliner and the lil map/dome lights and they both still work!! I took some pics sorry their dark but it was well dark out. Ill take some more tomorrow. Btw yall were right about the vin # i have a mutt the title and door tag match but the frame # is different also the cab has a duplex shift pattern tag so im guessing the cab was changed some years ago.
  3. Well it has to be your key switch or the wire between the two
  4. Well im against scrapping them the diesel would make a good parts motor or a spare if it runs. It looks to have alot of specific accessories on the head but may be a good long block canidate. The gasser with the butane/propane set up is what it is. A good engine but not very common and it drinks fuel (on gas they did i assume propane wouldnt be any better) i really doubt that you would be able to sell it but i hope so. It would make a good power plant for a whole house generator especially being lp. The 673 again if it runs has some value but id say more around the $500 mark, and with scrap $200 a ton id say the gasser at about 3-400. Just my opinion from my neck of the woods

  14. Ok well i got the truck outta the ladies yard this eve finally. Hoped it would just pull its self out but no such luck. Heavy mack+ soft yard+ highway tires on one side= no go. So after yanking hard with my one ton ford (only 2x4) the lady offered to try her 1/2 ton 4x4 chevy which luckly pulled it out. By this time it was getting dark and the light circut has a bad short and the headlight wires are cut so i had no lights so i drove her a few miles to a buddys house till thursday. First time with the two sticks (that you have to use both) and i didnt do to bad. Will post some more pics and video links on thursday. Also my spring brake valve is hooked up right its just made backwards. Also took inventory of some of my spare parts and i have a extra set of hoods with b67 emblems and a set with b42 emblems. So if any body needs either just let me know
  15. Find your starter solenoid (looks just like one for a older ford pickup) on a r/dm their on the firewall but on a mh im not sure where its mounted. Take a screwdriver and jump between the battery hot post and the post with the little wire from the key switch. If she fires right up your promblim is most likely either key switch is going bad, connection on the back of the switch going to the solenoid, or the solenoid connection. If you jump it over and it wont start but you can jump between the two big posts on the solenoid ( gonna need two screwdrivers or pliers with coated handles) and she fires up then your solenoid is likely bad.
  16. Seen this a-car sitting in nitro wv not sure what their doing with it
  17. Im with ya i liked the look in the overdrive pic vintage paint scheme roof top ac looked good
  18. Yes ive had a single axle dump truck of some kind sence i was 19 and its handier than a shirt pocket. Id be lost with out one Ok that was my thought that there was no such thing as spring brakes in the 50's. im guessing mine has a very early retro fit kit. And strangest thing to me at least is the park brake knob works backwards (push to apply, pull to release)
  19. Well went up to see if i could get the ole girl to fire up. After loading up with what tools i thought i might need, i drove up and started working. I got the tires aired up and as it turns out they weren't flat just sunk into the ground. I used the hand primer pump to make sure i had fuel to IP. I had hooked up a battery charger when i started and gave it a try, just the solenoid clicking. Ok well lets try to just just the starter over. Well only being familiar with r series solenoid being on the firewall i had to trace cables to find it under the seat. Honestly would have been the last place id looked. Well i only had one screwdriver and a pair of pliers. I should have knew better than to try but in light of better judgement i tried to jump it over with the pliers and knocked crap outta my self. Found another screwdriver and after melting the tip off of it she cranked over about 6 times and fired right up. I was surprised that it appears to have original air park brake. I always thought they had a parking brake drum off the back of the trans? Heres a video of her running sorry its dark it was about 9:00 when i got it running.
